Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

As a solo traveller felt extremely secure and safe wonderful family , beautiful garden and villas middle of 😠 Ubud and Rai was very kind to carry my luggage to the room and drop me to Yoga barn with his bike upon arrival with no extra charge and little girl who works with them very friendly and helpful . It was very clean , it is very close to main road could hear the traffic noise but it kind of worked for me as I had to wake up early and leave very early in the morning even so I would stay again . Lovely people . Highly recommend.

GermanyWould have been nice to have a lamp or a light switch next to the bed.
Beautiful and spacious place, really green with nice architecture and decoration. The owners are super friendly and prepare breakfast for you when you get up. Walking distance to the monkey forest, and easy to move around and get scooter/car via apps.

United KingdomThe only thing for me was having to go out and buy my own water, it would be useful to have a communal drinking water point. It is on a main road, so if you’re VERY sensitive to noise, that could disturb you. For me, personally it was fine. Plus, you can’t avoid noise being this close to central Ubud.
For a very budget friendly stay, it was great. It’s a an authentic Balinese living experience, and the family you stay with are super kind. The location is great, it’s within walking distance of most main attractions. The place is clean and well kept. Loved having tea and coffee always ready outside my door when I woke up, thank you!

AustraliaA beautiful oasis in the heart of Ubud. Each bungalow is like a mini Balinese palace set in its own personal jungle. Rai and his wife Ayu were so welcoming, helpful and hospitable. Poto, the young girl who works there, was also extremely lovely and caring. I had a fantastic experience.

AustraliaDid I mention traffic!? Location score is low because noise from the main road was intense, specially in the higher set bungalow I was in for first 3 nights. Managed to change to back corner room behind the first one & it was so much better. (Recommend requesting that back corner bungalow if you are booking). Western tourists may be a little taken aback by just a doona but no top sheet on bed, very common for Indonesians. (I always have a spare sarong to sleep under as it's far too warm for a quilt anyway).
3 little bungalows set in beautiful old gardens & run by a lovely family. Gracious friendly service without being obtrusive. Breakfast brought to the front porch every morn with big thermos of hot water to top up beverages. Would happily return if it were not on a very noisy main road, otherwise well situated with a cluster of warungs for food on nearby corner & walking distance to bustling town centre.

SpainThe traffic is quite loud from the street, I played rain music all night to try block it out. The room has a faint stale smoke smell
The spacious room, the beautiful surrounding garden, the free water refill, the lovely breakfast of mixed fruit with an omelette jaffle and hot drinks, the central location, the room is cleaned everyday and the staff are so friendly and helpful

United KingdomThe guest house was very run down especially bathroom. It was our first stay in bali so not sure if the standard was normal but no, one can get a good standard for this price and in a much better location. This location isn’t very good , no good restaurants and not very close to the centre. It’s on an extremely busy road with traffic nearly 24/7. I didn’t sleep for 3 days. Should have left earlier but was too shattered to even search for a new hotel.. I am only writing this very honest review because I wouldn’t have booked it if anyone had been so honest to describe the constant traffic noise and the low standard of the property.. so I want to warn anyone who is used to a normal European level, especially as it isn’t necessarily to comprise. There are plenty of rooms in better areas which are very good and very affordable ! Especially when booking last minute as they reduce the prices to fill up the beds. Good luck!
The family and staff was very friendly. The garden is beautiful .

United Statesa small detail, but the bathroom was missing soap, and the fan that was in the room puts out a low power, so if you need a cooler room at night, it might be difficult for you to get the best sleep.
i came to this place in a very sad and lonely state, but the energy around the property and the people running it, gave me so much comfort. truly, each person i met was filled with smiles and kindness. i ended up booking two extra nights because i felt so comfortable there. the room itself was small and simple, but it had a lot of charm, and i liked the coziness of it. there was also almost zero sound from the busy street which was impressive. the owners even helped bring my things out to the street with me when i left, and waited with me while the car came. their heartfelt goodbye really meant a lot to me.

MoroccoOur worst accommodation of our entire stay of more than 6 months in all of Bali. I never leave negative reviews but I actually relied on the very positive reviews when choosing this accommodation..... Run away! Fortunately we found on our own, elsewhere, an excellent accommodation at all levels for the same price. No arrangements found by the owner despite the availability of other rooms in better condition.
Hot water + Wifi + Garden (Not enough to balance with all the negative points)

GermanyOur stay encountered a hiccup as our bed broke on the first night, but the host promptly offered us another cozy hut. While it lacked the extravagance of the initial one, the replacement provided a pleasant stay, though the bathroom didn't quite match the charm of the first. Despite the minor inconvenience, the genuine hospitality shone through, making our experience noteworthy.
Nestled close to the heart of Ubud, this homestay unveils a world of contrasts at your doorstep. A left turn leads to upscale locales, while a right turn reveals charming, budget-friendly Warungs and a local market for evening meals. The property itself is a stunning haven adorned with temples, flowers, and quaint huts for guests. Breakfast, a delightful affair, is thoughtfully prepared and served with care. The rooms boast heavenly canopies over the beds and showcase elegant antique furniture, creating an ambiance of timeless charm. Reliable WiFi added a modern touch to our retreat,. The initial bathroom, an extraordinary space with stone walls, earthy elements, and flourishing plants, adds a touch of luxury to the stay. This homestay is a harmonious blend of convenience and culture, offering a serene escape in the heart of Ubud's vibrant tapestry.
