Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

TurkeyClean, huge room, with a beautiful jungle view (I had a room on second floor). Staff (and the family who runs it) is very nice. There are some cafes and markets nearby. It is just about 15mins walk to central Ubud.

NetherlandsUnfortunately i had to shorten my stay due to a huge gecko that was in my room. I know they don’t do anything but they make a lot of noice and the size scared me. Also i did not had earplugs so him and the heavy rain and other jungle noises kept me awake. But other than that it is really an amazing place, it just wasn’t a fit for me!
Amazing and clean room with a really nice view! The room is spacious and the bed is super comfortable, the staff is really friendly and helpful. Just bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper.

PortugalWe loved our stay at this Villa. Its just a bit away from the hub of the town, which is good because its nice and quiet and peaceful, but close enough to walk (15 mins) or a quick taxi. The room was beatifully decorated, the bathroom clean and spacious, and a delicious breakfast. There is a nice pool as well, although we didn't use it much as it rained during our stay :(

AustriaA few minor suggestions: We would have appreciated a mosquito net and additional lounge chairs or sunbeds on the spacious terrace. The room next door had extra cozy seating options, which would have been nice for our terrace as well. A small desk inside the room would have been practical for working on a laptop. When we asked about it, we were given the table from the neighboring room - so issues are quickly resolved here! Lastly, a new or less calcified showerhead would improve the water flow, as the pressure was a bit low (though this is quite common in these countries ;-)).
We chose this accommodation because of its beautiful view of the lush greenery - and we were not disappointed! We stayed in a room on the upper floor, and the view of the green "jungle" was simply stunning. It was incredibly relaxing to just sit and take in the scenery. Even the rain was a pleasure to watch from the covered terrace. A sweet black-and-white cat kept us company during our stay, and we absolutely fell in love with her. Enjoying breakfast on our private terrace with a view of the greenery was an absolute highlight. We had the best Black Rice Pudding (without sugar) of our entire Bali trip here. The room itself was spacious and airy, and the air conditioning worked perfectly. Another big plus: The accommodation is tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Ubud, making it a peaceful retreat (at least during our stay, as there were no construction sites nearby). Yet, the town center is only about a 15-minute walk away, and the path is quite pleasant. For those who prefer not to walk, renting a scooter is a great option. You can ride down to the main road, park at the corner, and then explore Ubud on foot. That’s what we did from time to time.

NetherlandsBathroom was functional, somewhat old. It was a bit dark to read in bed, a bit more light would be good.
Very friendly host who makes beautiful drawings. Breakfast is plenty and very nice, served on our balcony - but no Indonesian food unfortunately. The bed had great matras, I slept like a log. Nice big bedroom with large balcony looking straight into the jungle.

United KingdomNothing - it was perfect
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this spacious, peaceful villa on the edge of the Ubud jungle. The view from bed was pretty special - like living in a rainforest canopy due to the ceiling to floor windows. Our room had a lovely huge balcony where we loved eating our tasty breakfast each morning ( delivered to the room). It was also a great spot for hanging out waiting for the rain to pass. The Villa is located about a 15-20min walk downhill to the bustling parts of Ubud. Pool was great to be able to cool off after walking back each day. There’s a good selection of Warungs near by. We really enjoyed our stay - thank you Dewi and Wayan.

United KingdomLocation was a short walk into the centre, would maybe have booked closer if we had researched better. Also we are vegan and there was only one vegan breakfast option (black rice pudding, SO tasty!!) - whilst lovely would have loved another option for variation during our stay. Very minor issues though, we loved it here!!
We were upgraded to a bigger room and it was a whole building with a kitchen and two bathrooms, right next to the pool. We loved it. The balcony is huge and the amount of natural light is wonderful. Dewi and the staff are sooo friendly and happy to help. We extended our stay and that was an easy process. Breakfast delivered to you every morning at your preferred time was luxury! Some evenings we could hear traditional Balinese music playing for a long time which was lovely :)

PolandThe bathroom wasn't the cleanest, lots of residue on mirror and toilet... also all sorts of bugs everywhere. It's hard to blame the villa because it's located in the greenery, but we wished it was a bit more secure - maybe mosquito net would be nice :(
Loved the view and also good breakfast options. It's further back from the main road, so it's very quiet and relaxing. Lots of amenities like toiletries, kettle, hair dryer... fresh bottled water was provided every day, which was really nice

Dewi and Wayan are fantastic hosts, friendly, responsive and approachable at all times. Communication is easy, lovely relaxed atmosphere and beautiful peaceful surroundings. Yummy breakfasts. United StatesMaybe the villa sign on the street could be bigger, some of the taxi drivers had difficulty looking for the sign. I was dropped off at the Western next door because the driver was unsure where I should go. However, this seems to be a common issue for other villas. A woman wandered into Mahanadewi looking for an AirBnB, and Google Maps was no good. Dewi took initiative to call the place, and make sure the woman was sent to her proper location.
Location was walking distance from the center, but far enough from the busy traffic. So you can walk to the places you want, and not be too fussed about traffic noise when relaxing at the villa. If you want to see any of the sights north or east of Ubud (rice fields, temples, waterfalls), this is also a great location to head off without waiting forever in traffic. Staff hospitality was the best, everyone wanted to make sure I had a good time, and I felt very cared for. I wish I had spent more time speaking with Dewi and Wayan about my plans - they had so much knowledge to share about the best ways to get the experiences I wanted. They also let me rent a scooter for cheap, and let me practice a little in the courtyard area before I went off on my own. When it was time to leave for Sanur, Dewi and Wayan drove me down to my next hotel to see me off. I even received some commentary about some processions and ceremonies we passed by! Bedroom and bathroom were very spacious, and everything was comfortable. I liked the outdoor kitchen. The villa is in the middle of nature, so don't be afraid when nature comes to visit you. The staff is very nice accommodating any issues They help clean the area everyday, and it's great to come into a squeaky clean room after a sweaty humid day of travels.
