How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.

Verified reviewAVOID AT ALL COSTS! This accommodation is a scam and does not provide the booking you paid for. I paid for this booking for a 5 day stay - it was all confirmed, I even messaged the property to confirm the booking and location and all was positive. When my friends arrived to check in, they were informed the booking is not possible and there is no availability - in the evening! (we confirmed check in 7pm). When i asked the accommodation admin/owner about it, they responded a day later that we can stay in their 2.5 rated trashy hotel - no thanks, we had to find an alternative booking because of them. Now Booking.com do not respond to my refund requests, and neither does the accommodation. DO NOT BOOK HERE

Verified reviewGuys, do not book here, we booked and paid but basically once we get there ( and is far away) they didn’t have a room and they wanted us to pay another taxi to go to another hotel 4 km away…. the host did not speak english, so it was really hard. They didn’t even care till I said” i want my money back “ or at least you pay a taxi for us to get in this other hotel. Let s not talk about where did the sent us… so dirty and disgusting.
At least the manager paid for us the taxi scooter ( car was to expensive for them) but was not hard to say “don t have room”. They could send us a message before, instead if taking our money first.

Verified reviewI was messaging and calling the homestay when I had arrived and received no answer therefore I had to go elsewhere as it was torrential rain I was soaked and stood outside for an hour with no response to how to get in. Waste of money as I’m unable to get a refund. Would not advise for female solo travellers.

Verified reviewThis place is a true Bali experience, nothing flash, you get what you pay for and in that it’s perfect. The restaurant was amazing and prices were so good, so friendly. The rooms are nice and as long as you can whether the heat you will be fine because no AC just a fan. The bathroom isn’t the cleanest but it’s good. I enjoyed the location of this place, nice and quiet and close to alot of nice sunset points

Verified reviewHey , i arrived after 2 long travel days and when i get here 10 pm at night ready to shower and sleep they told me it was fully booked , even if i paid and booked through booking they rented it to someone else … they sent me to a hotel with the same owner 20 min drive away , when i got to the hotel they were clueless of what i was doing there until the owner finally answered the phone , i finally checked into my room , which reaked of mold , the towel was stained and there was no water !!! After a long day i was sweaty and really needed a shower and to come home and there s no water to shower or brush my teeth really sucks ..please help , the pillow is alive with mold i dont feel like its fair to pay for such a bad accommodation I request a refund

Verified review- You have a Terrasse - WiFi is good - the food is nice and big portions
The staff was horrible!! Really unfriendly and ignoring. Never nice to us and had all the time a bad mood. Especially the mom (oldest)!!!! There was also a big problem with water. Every time you wanted to shower you had to ask if they can turn on the water. But if we asked the oldest lady was so pissed and saying like “oh my godddd… you still not ready.” He sadly had to leave because of the horrible women. We we’re never treated to bad in our life!!!

They sold my room out from under me. They staff then cussed me out when I questioned what was going on. I was stuck in that disgusting place feeling unsafe and forced to search for new accommodations because it was the only WiFi in the area. They did not honor the booking. You should take them off of your site. It only brings a bad name to Booking.com.

Verified reviewI have no idea why this has bad reviews and a 5.4 rating. I had 3 nights here and yes it has its faults but I really liked it here. Great value for money. Pancakes in the morning are lovely. Wifi works very good. Easy to get around to see things. The Balinese family who run the place are very nice, and it's homely. So don't be quick to write bad reviews about this place, give it a try, and enjoy it. Warung Jenny restaurant 10 minutes walk away is absolutely great place to eat. Uluwatu temple and cliff walk is well worth visiting with great ocean views. Balinese people and their families are hardworking and spiritual people so please respect them and think before how you write a review, don't talk bad about them as this is their livelihood and they depend a lot on us and get to know them.
This place has so much potential with a bit of investment. It needs a bit of work especially on the bathrooms and a lot of top quality mosquitoe proof netting in the rooms. Other than that it's very homely feel to the place. The best 5.4 rating guesthouse I've stayed in!!!😁.. with a bit of work on the place I think it can get to 7 or 7.5 rating.

Verified reviewdidn’t spend here a night as we had to escape from millions of cockroaches!! didnt get my money back as well but that‘s not even what i‘m angry about. the owner is super ignorant and rude, as i wanted to check in she ignored me and always commands her daughters to do stuff. we had problems with our AC, the whole bedding was full of mold and then as i mentioned millions and millions of cockroaches and her behavior was just unacceptable. as i wanted to give her the keys back she just hid in her house and again i had to deal with her daughter all the business. A COMPLETE DISASTER!!! DO NOT GO HERE EVER!! coming from somebody who is budget traveling and doesn‘t even have high expectations
