How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewThe location of Made Punias jungle is perfect, it’s at the end of a ridge walk so there is heaps of cute cafes and warungs scattered along the road but it’s not too busy. The mango smoothie bowl was also realllyyyyy good.
It was a little bit awkward not having a roof on the shower especially when it rained 🤣

Verified reviewThe jungle surrounding the property was beautiful and the staff were really lovely. And the food was nice!
The bathroom was separate from our room which was quite inconvenient, and it was hard to sleep with how loud the wildlife was but that’s not the hotel’s fault! There was also construction going on next door which detracted from the relaxing atmosphere.

Verified reviewThe location is very remote and has stunning views of the jungle and mountains. The rooms are comfortable and clean. However the accessibility of the site makes it difficult to move large bags and get around if you're injured or elderly. The staff were wonderful.
Our first room, whilst lovely and inviting, the bathroom was detached and had pebbles on the ground of the shower making it hard on the feet and wetting our toilet paper. =(

Verified reviewThe room was super beautiful and the balcony was the cherry on top, absolutely great view! The place is away from the hustle from the main city, you need to have a scooter to commute to the city, its a 20-30 minute ride to the city. The location and surroundings are super beautiful, lush green rice fields, a few cafes and shops to enjoy. All in all a great peaceful surrounding.
My Room was the double room with balcony, it was close to the entrance, the rest of the rooms can be tricky to get to with many many many stairs. The city is 30 min scooter ride away.

Verified reviewWhen we arrived there was no power so no air con the main thing you need in a place like that. Lots of construction around which we were not made aware of, nothing around only a couple of restaurants in the middle of no where hard to get taxis! We literally stayed there for a hour and booked another place in town. The room was smelly and through a dodgy little ally way. No space for kids to play at pool area. Creepy vibes with millions of stairs do not stay here if you have small Children!

We would like to clarify that there was a village-wide power outage at the time of your arrival, which lasted for approximately two hours. This situation was beyond our control, but we did inform guests of the issue upon check-in. We completely understand how the lack of air conditioning during that time could have been very uncomfortable. Regarding the construction noise, the ongoing work you encountered is from a neighboring property and not part of our own facilities. We realize this may have affected your overall experience, and we are doing our best to coordinate with the surrounding properties to minimize disruption. We also take note of your comments about the access roads, the surrounding area, the condition of the room, and the limited space around the pool for children. Your feedback is valuable, and we will be reviewing these points carefully to see where improvements can be made. Verified reviewLittle gem The view of the jungle is amazing. The pool is big and has a beautiful view as well. The room has a little fridge , a tiny kitchen, and water to refill your bottle. It's just a shame that you can't see the view properly when you sit on the balcony due to the fence. They would need to put higher chairs or remove the wooden fence. Also, the bathroom was not the cleanest and a lot of blood stains under the bed sheets. Overall, it is a great place for the price. I would definitely go again.

Please mention the level (floor) of the rooms available for the stay to avoid confusion for elderly people. More kitchen vessels can be provided as the given items were not sufficient.

The room smelt distinctly of urine, the shower and toilet had all these rocks on the floor- absolutely no way it can be cleaned properly and moisture remained 24/7. The first night there was construction next door going on until late into the night. I had booked a second night, chose to leave Ubud and gave up my room as I cut my foot on one of the rocks in the shower and I just couldn’t deal with the smell of urine any further!! The aircon also did not work very well but I think I was lucky to have even gotten aircon!!
