Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaI am not great with stairs, and didn't realise that there were a few levels to the homestay when I booked. Fortunately I lucked out and was in a room that was pretty accessible.
The breakfast was sustaining, and because I had problems climbing the stairs to the kitchen where it is normally served, the staff served it to me downstairs.

South KoreaThe rooms on the ground floor where I stayed felt a bit damp, and there was some mold in the corners, probably due to the weather, but it made it a little hard to feel fully comfortable.
The water pressure in the shower is great, and I really liked the dining and kitchen area.

Pakistan- We requested a queen bed but since the place was almost fully booked, they didn't have any room with queen bed left so they gave us two twin beds joined together which were not very comfortable to sleep on. - The place is shown as a busy place on google maps but it's not very busy for tourists because there's only street food around and not many restaurants. The actual busy place is around Ubud Art market which is around 20 mins walk from the homestay.
- The staff was great; everyone was really friendly, and our requests were fulfilled easily and quickly by texting the owner on WhatsApp. - We liked the shared kitchens and spaces. Also, the place was very beautiful and well-integrated into Ubud's nature with tall trees and beautiful patios and plants all around.

HungaryThe water system was not working for 2-3 days. It has been repaired, but it was very unpleasant, in other accommodation I have received compensation in such cases (e.g. free breakfast or any gesture). The building has been renovated, but the walls in my room already need painting.
Very cosy, pleasant, authentic place, I especially liked the upper terrace, communal space. The staff are very nice and helpful. The breakfasts are delicious. Internet is good. It's basically quiet place, but guests can change that.

NetherlandsThe bed in the ground floor room was not comfortable. There is a shared kitchen available which could use a bit more organisation. Like putting name stickers on food in the fridge as some food seems to lay there longer than guests stayed.
Homestay is run by a lovely family. I stayed there for 2 months. The 1st month I stayed in a room on the ground floor which was a bit noisy and the bed wasn't great either. Also, everybody walked passed the room as it was next to the path to the exit. Later, I moved to the first floor. The quality of the 2nd room was much better. I had a nice balcony with a great view of Ubud. Both rooms had a desk which was perfect for doing some work.

IndiaThe only disturbance we had was sometimes there were construction noises around us. But this was only for a couple of days.
Location, it's fairly close to the major centres in Ubud, but also far enought to escape the noise and chaos of the city. The facilities and hosts are super helpful in proving a very homely stay here.

IndonesiaI stayed in the room in the corner, the Internet was not really good. But if I went outside my room, the Internet was very fast.
It's a lovely homestay. I feel like staying at my own home. The owner was very kind. They have shared kitchen and free drinking water as well. It is so quiet and peaceful. You can find some restaurants nearby within walking distance.

PortugalI don't like to sleep with the air conditioning on and I like to have the windows open to let the air in, so it would be a great idea to put netting on the bedroom windows, because without nets, you either suffer with the heat or you don't sleep because of the mosquitoes. It would also be great to have mosquito netting on the beds, as I've had a few restless nights due to mosquitoes waking me up and biting me, which could have been avoided with simple mosquito nets.
The location is good and the area is quiet, no noise from the street at the property. The site is beautiful with a lovely garden and the atmosphere is homely. I was very welcome and treated super well all the time. All the family and staff are very friendly and kind and always ready to help. Thank you so much Indri for your kindness, availability, and trust. I had a great time!

Courteous staff members and clean rooms, cosy stay. Breakfast was arranged earlier while booking for a price which was a good thing to do as we were all vegetarians. Walking through the fields was a bit tiring for us oldies, but we got used to it in no time.
