Room not even cleaned once. On asking for help with transport back to the ferry, the manager or staff just said you can ask outside and the gesture was not really warm

This place is opposite to the jetty from where you arrive by boat so I recommend hiring an electric scooter to get to your accom if you are travelling light (avoid the push bike rentals all the push bikes suck). The pool water does not look inviting its murky so I avoided swimming in it. The showers are pretty rough but they stocked plenty of body wash. Think the teepee tent might be a bit overpriced for what it is comparatively on the island. Wifi was a bit hit and miss.

Food was great, plenty of options available and tasted fine. Teepee room had an airconditioner in it which made it very comfortable. Located in my opinon next to the best spot to view the sunset from the whole island. Staff were extremely friendly and inviting, if I was not travelling with purpose of meeting up with an external group I really would of liked to stay longer as they made a fun and safe environment at the hostel, people were all keen to interact and have a good time.

People here are very friendly, outgoing and in for some party. I've met so many lovely people from all over the world, they have a lot of choices in food and its delicious. Rooms and bathroom / toilet are very well taken care of and every evening there is something to do in the hostel, from a mexican evening with food to a beerpong tournament etc etc. Would definitely reccomend this place!!

It’s an amazing hostel if you’re social and you like to make friends! They always organize so much activities that you can partake in, but you have to pay for some of them. The food is also amazing and not too expensive. The staff are so friendly and they always bring a good vibe no matter what! It’s on the opposite side of the island that has all the clubs and bars but it’s a 15 minutes bike ride so it’s not too bad We loved it!🫶

The dorms and bathrooms are a little dingy but I guess that’s part of the fun. The only thing that’s a bit annoying is how far the property is from the main hub. It’s a party hostel 30 min away from the party

Location is quite far from the port. If you have heavy luggage the only option is to use the horses which doesn’t feel right. I stayed in a 3 beds room. They could install curtains for privacy but there are none. Big lockers for each guest is okay. Mine was broken at the base, but it was safe anyway. They could improve cleanliness and facilities. Everything looks a bit old already.

I loved the pool, volleyball court, and the vibes. Mexican night and music quiz were quite nice. It’s very easy to meet people here and make friends if traveling solo. The restaurant menu is okay.

We stayed in one of the bungalows and loved it. The beds were comfy and we really liked the outside bathroom. The staff were very welcoming and super friendly. We loved the different activities and theme nights during our stay. If you’re looking for a fun place to stay and meet people, I’d definitely recommend mad monkey.

There should be curtains for privacy in the room. Its a very basic thing now that almost all hostels have.

Hostel is placed on the other side of island which is 2.5km from the pier but it was nice to explore this side of the island.

The tents were very close to the dj booth, although music cuts out after 11pm. I felt the events were quite repetitive every 2-3 days. Prices at the bar were slightly higher than downtown.

The ultimate party hostel where you meet a lot of people and there are events organized every night. The tents where very nice if you do not want to share a room. Bathrooms were clean. All in all it is a good hostel to socialize.

The staff at Mad Monkey were so welcoming and made such an effort to make everyone feel included and comfortable. There are social events every night and it is a great hostel for solo travellers. Billy and all of the staff made my stay such an enjoyable one and I will definitely be returning again. I had so much fun on Gili T and it was one of my favourite hostels on my trip.

I honestly did not like my stay at the Mad Monkey that much. The whole place had a very hostile vibe. It was my first time as a solo traveler at a hostel. The housekeeping services were also not upto the mark. The washrooms were not clean enough and smelly all the time. Laundry service was really good and fast. There were a lot of things going on in the hostel but as a first timer I didn’t know what was happening as at the time of check in also no one informed how the hostel functions, what all was happening that particular evening. I have stayed in a lot of hostels now in bali in my 1 month trip, each hostel during check in lets you know the plan for the night and also where to look for upcoming activities. Overall I didn’t quite understand the hype about the place. Definitely not worth it for me.
