How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe setting was very tranquil and it felt literally like we were part of the forrest. Although out of Ubud itself, there were plenty of good places to eat in easy walking distance. Dewa was awesome. So incredibly helpful and responsive. I injured myself when out in Ubud and Dewa made sure that I got the medical help that I needed. He even bought me a bag of ice to the villa. Dewa was also brilliant in organising our transport and massages. A fabulous human!
The stairs were very steep. Wouldn't be good for anyone with mobility issues, but we knew what we were signing up for, so not an issue for us.

Was bit dated in areas. Really poor hot water for showers and baths. Local is nice for view but long walk to ubud. Also there was building work going on we wasn’t told about. Did make some noise.

Verified reviewIf i could move into this beautiful villa I wouldnt even think twice. I loved the stay, the area was perfect, the rooms were gorgeous and the pool looking out into the jungle was a beautiful addition. We had the best time here and wish it could have been for longer than just the one night. Even after we had left we couldnt stop talking about how much we loved the villa. Thank you so much and i cant wait to be back and stay for longer🌞

Verified reviewThis place is beautiful. The outlook with the infinity pool and the upstairs deck is amazing. It was nicely decorated and very comfortable. The bathrooms were awesome. It was so peaceful 🙏
The Villa sign was not noticeable and the property was hard to find. The driveway into the property was terrible for both walking and cars…It was a very long walk (40mins) down into the main shopping/eating areas. We didn’t know about the taxis there and they were needed to be booked.

Verified reviewThe villa is generous sized house with a great private pool and great view into the jungle. The furnishing is of quality and mix of modern in the living room and more traditional in the bed rooms. Second bedroom is on ground floor level with big terrace overlooking the pool and the jungle, the living room with open kitchen, terrace and pool and the master bedroom in the back is below. The lower rooms are a bit darker due to the set-up but still comfy. Overall it was very clean and all required information easy available. Scooter or car recommended to get around in Ubud and surrounding. It has been a nice stay, thanks for your much appreciated hospitality. Carsten & Rahmat
Nothing really to complain. The ceilings might need some refurbishment after the water damage. The parking for the car needs some driving skills due to tight entry on road, but it's a questions of getting used to.

Verified reviewI loved the size of the property and the fact that both bathrooms were very unique and spacious and the property manager was very professional and kind
Old furnitures . Dirty walls. Very cold water in pool which made it impossible to enjoy. Lots of construction behind the property in addition to noise which made it impossible to sleep. Barking dogs as well as roosters waking us up. Overall NOT a good vacation experience

Verified reviewVery spacious rooms, especially the two bathrooms which were huge. The living spaces were ample. The access to the villa was a bit confusing but all taxis found it without a problem, the view from the balcony over the infinity pool against the backdrop of the jungle was simply breath taking.
The water dispenser in the kitchen didn't work, we had to take water directly from the bottle, the kitchen knife was blunt and there was nothing to make a coffee with, like a cafetiere or coffee maker. The aircon was not particularly cold but enough to make the room fresh at night, as the heat is sweltering. The place can do with an update of the wooden floors.

Verified reviewOn the positive side, the managers were exceptionally friendly and responsive to our needs. They quickly addressed issues with the air conditioning and warm water during our first night, providing efficient service recovery by offering compliment massage service. Additionally, the villa's proximity to the center was convenient for exploring the area.
However, there were several drawbacks to consider. Firstly, the entrance to the villa was poorly lit, making it challenging to navigate, especially during nighttime check-ins. The road leading to the villa was also rough and bumpy, which could be a concern for guests with vehicles or mobility difficulties. Inside the villa, the stairs leading to the lower bedroom were excessively steep, presenting a hazard for elderly guests or those with limited mobility. Moreover, the air conditioning system was unreliable, with our room remaining uncomfortably warm despite multiple attempts by the service manager to fix it. Additionally, one of the air conditioners was leaking, adding to our frustration. While the situation slightly improved over the last two days of our stay, it still fell short of expectations. The water heater was also not working on the first night causing us to have to shower in ice cold water in the first night after a long travel time leading to our frustration Furthermore, the hot water tap in the lower bathroom's bathtub was not functioning, requiring us to wait for maintenance the following day before we could use it.
