How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewHonestly, this place pure magic in the middle of the Uluwatuian Djungle. I loved every single second there. The serene venue, where you can fully relax your soul. One of the most authentic places I ever visited!

Verified reviewThe room was okay, but a lot of things just didn’t make sense and felt poorly thought out. For example, the in-room safe wasn’t fixed to the wall or anything. That completely defeats the purpose—why would I put valuables inside if someone could just walk out with the whole safe? Very awkward. The “desk” setup was also strange. The surface was far too high, and the chair didn’t match at all—it was so tall that sitting at it left my feet dangling. Not exactly practical. The bed itself was on the higher side, but the nightstands were oddly low, which made it awkward to actually use them. Another downside was the curtains: they didn’t fully close, so there was always light coming into the room. All in all, the stay was fine for one night, but I wouldn’t choose this accommodation again

Verified review0. THE COFFEE, wow wow wow. It's one of the best coffees we've had in our lives. We loved it. Unfortunately they did not sell the bags! We were hoping we could!! 1. Staff was amazing! All of the employees were helpful, professional and always had a lovely smile. They helped us with taxi, our luggage & received us with delicious tea! The food was served so beautiful, with large quantities and it was delicious! 2. The architecture is spectacular. One of the most unique hotels we have ever stayed. We loved they even had the design & construction book of the hotel. Fascinating process! Lovely outcome. 3. The ambience is cozy with the music, drinks, light design, nature on the property and of course the architecture itself. Please take our next comments as constructive criticism to make your place even more pleasurable and long lasting! <3 Also to match the experience value to the cost value.
Unfortunately some aspects diminished our enjoyment of the place. 1. One of the two most annoying experiences were that the air conditioning was so loud and almost didn't cool even when set to the coolest and highest fan level. PLUS, the airconditioning was turning off by its own mid night like at 3am. So our sleep was really disturbed. 2. The second most annoying was that the hot water in the shower only lasted around 5 minutes before it started to get cold. So only the first person showering would get a bit of hot water, and the second person none. 3. A general recommendation for the owner is that the hotel as an overall needs maintenance. For example, it really needs to be newly painted (it gives it a dirty and unmaintenained vibe). 4.We are pet lovers, so the thought of dogs at the property was ok with us. However the dogs were sitting on all the couches and the cats at the tables to eat, so the couches were stained dirty. So we thought that if the pets are diminishing guests enjoyment of the areas, then they take away value payed. 5. Recommendation for owner:As an engineer & architect ourselves we thought that the owner should take highly into consideration bringing a structural engineer to reassess the structural elements in the property; to save the structural integrity of the hotel, and for the safety of the guests. We saw for example, a beam that was totally disconnected to the column without any rebars located besides the fridge. Also, at the right villa, at the right side of the balcony, the load point where the roof meets the balcony floor was too heavy for the concrete mix of the floor. This is to say, the floor broke, and being located in an earthquake zone, then its best to be safe than sorry. 6. Lastly, we thought staff was on the low side.
Thank you Paola for your sincere feedback, it is indeed very helpful for us to learn and improve regularly. We of course wish some of this could have been reported to us so we can react immediately and improve your stay while you were with us. Especially regarding the AC, which we discovered was stuck on a strange setting, timer and had a screw loose. It has been repaired now once a guest informed us and we fixed it immediately. Indeed water facilities are limited in most areas and especially due to the infrastructure which is notoriously poor in the Bukit, leading us to have a limited water heating. We will continue exploring solutions to improve this. We will look into the rest of your feedback points one by one, thank you for the support!

Verified reviewI loved staying here. I’ve visited many places in Bali but there’s just something special about Lulu’s! I felt instantly relaxed and the room was so comfy and beautiful as well as the little nooks and couches to relax. The staff was so helpful and always made you feel at home. I didn’t want to leave!
Nothing really- sometimes there wouldn’t be enough sunbeds for all of the guests at the pool. A little pricey tho I would definitely come again
Thank you for staying with us Ferris and bringing your kiddos along too. Would love to have you back!

Verified reviewIt's a true hidden gem, the villa is so spacious and beautiful + it has very nice facilities that are very well maintained: pool, sauna, cold plunge - we used it a lot, it was so nice! Lovely dogs were keeping us company all the way (I love dogs).

Verified reviewWe loved the architecture & the interior design and landscape layout of the villas.
There was no kettle to boil water and a small fridge to cool your drinks. That's the only thing that we didn't like.
Thank you for your feedback! Sorry for the slight disappointment. We do communicate about the common amenities such as a kettle, fridge and appliances available for use in our common kitchenette. This is an intentional aspect of our space to support community and connection.

Verified reviewFabulous decor, this place is clean and the atmosphere is calm, quiet & chilled. Friendly and helpful staff and dogs & cats. Little personal touches make a difference and I slept well. Comfortable beds.
Not much to dislike except if you don’t like being a bit out of the hustle & bustle. There is construction around but that is everywhere anyway and didn’t detract from my stay. Nothing overnight so I slept well.
So pleased to hear about your stay. Thank you for sharing Nicole!

Verified reviewGreat facilities, nice and cozy, not many people good for healthy getaway, sauna and ice bath is amazing addition.
I think the staff organization needs work , at times it felt like it was just three young guys hanging out trying to run a resort. Also charging me extra for the fire pit was outrageous.
Thank you for the feedback and comments Jayce, it’s very helpful.

Verified reviewIf you are looking for a sign to book this place, this is it! My first accommodation ever in Bali and it did not disappoint! I felt so incredibly welcomed by Miguel, Darma, Puuto and Dika. All such amazing stuff and so friendly! I also loved the dogs at the property - especially nunu and peanut, such sweet souls! :) The music was lovely and the whole atmosphere of the property was top notch. Beautiful architectural layout and very easy to get around, even though it may not seem that way at first haha! Just use the Gojek app(super convenient!). Also really recommend their trust driver, Gede. Great guy! Thank you Lulu's for a wonderful stay. I will definitely be back and recommend to those wanting to go to Uluwatu! THANK YOU!
It could have been a little less noisy, but this is Bali. Construction is found almost everywhere! It did not disturb my stay :) Just go to the beach or listen to the wonderful music by the pool!
Wowwowow this is such kind feedback and support to our entire team. It seems like you have had a great connection to them and we love that so much. Grateful for your comments and that you had a great stay. We appreciate you.
