Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNothing not to love
A serene, soulful sanctuary in Canggu Lotus & Teak Villas is a space to slow down, reconnect, and feel truly at peace. From the moment I arrived, I felt a calming energy throughout the property. Each villa has its own terrace, and at night the ambient lighting transforms the space into a warm, cozy haven under the stars. I loved sitting outside in the evenings. The rooms themselves have such a beautiful, zen feel: simple, earthy, and adorned with handcrafted details and dreamcatchers that give the space a grounding and intentional vibe. It felt like a Buddhist retreat. The garden is well cared for giving sense of harmony between nature and design. The pool area gets sun all day and it was the perfect place to spend quiet afternoons with a book or just floating in the water. One of the most unique aspects of my stay was connecting with the host, who offers tarot readings and even Indonesian lessons for guests. It added such a meaningful, personal touch to the experience and made me feel more rooted in the culture and energy of the place.

United KingdomThe communal areas were made for connection: whether we were hanging out by the pool, or gathered around the massive kitchen table that comfortably fit all of us. The kitchen was super well-equipped with everything we needed (gas stove, rice cooker, loads of space), and having a good selection of wines and beers available on-site made things so easy. The prices were really fair too, so we often just stayed in, played music on the Bluetooth speaker. Nice warm evening lighting that gave the whole place a golden, cozy glow. One of the best touches was the variety of games: everything from chess and cards to drinking games and party classics. It made every night fun and different without us ever needing to leave the villa. Lotus & Teak was the ideal mix of chill, style, and functionality. Everyone in the group kept saying how they felt right at home, and we’re already talking about coming back next year. Couldn’t recommend it more for groups looking for a beautiful, comfortable, and social space in Canggu.

AustraliaIn Canggu there is not really a great variety of lower priced accommodation. I was lucky enough to be one of the first bookings for this accommodation. Not really a dislike but be sure to book as early as possible so you don't miss out.
I volunteer teaching English not far from this accommodation, so the location is great for my needs. There are three different cafes close by that make coffee and a variety of food at cheap prices. There is a small mart for things like drinks, cigarettes, soap, toothbrushes etc... The Balinese weather can be very hot so the owner happily provided me with a great fan that I could place on by bed, especially during the day when the sun is at it's hottest. This made my stay much more comfortable. The premises is very clean and I especially appreciated having the pool just outside my door. Log into your YouTube account and watch hours of content when you're feeling lazy (I certainly did!). Nice soft towels for use in the private ensuite. The communal area is well equipped if you want to cook, or just order Grab. There are cold drinks available for purchase in the kitchen. I chose not to hire a scooter this time (everything I need is no more than a few hundred metres walking distance), but from here to the centre of Canggu shouldn't cost any more than 20,000rp including tip. I arrived from Kuta (about 80 minutes in traffic) in a Grab car, cost 200,000 with tip.

United KingdomCanggu is crazy busy but this is located in Northern Canggu in a peaceful area, surrounded by rice fields, there is a small cafe opposite that provides cooked break although you can have cold breakfast at the villa. The villas are traditional wooden type with private bathrooms, set in beautiful gardens. The pool was really nice, clean and relaxing. There is a lovely open kitchen area that has everything you need should you which to use, including a rice cooker. There is a well stocked bar with a choice of wine and beer. The kitchen area is perfect for socialising and has a great set of new board games and an even an acoustic guitar to play, nice times to spend with friends and family. There are restaurants and coffee shops also nearby. Staff were friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. They can organise anything you need. Dina was an Indonesian TV actress and provides language courses and Tarot reading. Thank you for everything guys.

IndonesiaThe strategy is excellent, the staff is very helpful and friendly, and the location is very clean. The villa is uniquely made of wood, truly reflecting a traditional Indonesian atmosphere. With its yellow lighting outside at night, it feels like traveling back in time—truly a unique experience 🥳

IcelandLotus & Teak is a lovely spot, close to everything you'd like to access in Canggu, but isolated in the best way from the bustle of the area. It's owners are a very kind and helpful couple who have put a lot of work into making this a wonderful spot to enjoy Bali. Their very efficient team were upgrading the villas while I was there, and moved me into one of their pricier rooms while renovating mine. That isn't to say there are rooms that are less nice than others. They all have their charms. If you're really into peace and quiet (and slightly lower daytime temperatures), they two rooms at the back of the property are perfect. Also, if you love kittens, they currently have three on the property to keep you company while sitting by the pool, or having breakfast in their well-stocked outdoor kitchen. I would happily recommend Lotus & Teak to anyone. I think it's only going to get better the more they put into it, which is saying a lot because it was already a fantastic and relaxing place to stay.
