Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaNo safe box. For me the steps to the home stay were extremely difficult being so steep - 70 year old with balance and knee issues was going to find another accomodation because of difficult access but then found a back access along a lane to side streets and ended up extending my original week to add these 5 extra days to my stay.
Location very central but quiet. Breakfast bought to your table on your front sitting area. Hot water with good pressure. Huge room & bathroom. Serviced daily & staff friendly. Arranged a cooking class and also taxi at fair rate when transferring location.

I loved that the room had a lot on natural light and big window of tree and rooftops. I enjoyed the simple breakfast eggs and fruit. The location was also good for me as there were lost of nice small family run restaurants close by. The large outdoor balcony remained inviting to spend more time on the balcony than in the room during the day.

United KingdomOnly minor things. Up a flight of stairs which made it slightly difficult with the bags, but staff helped. Path to accommodation was a little slippery in the rain.
Great location. Very clean and tidy facilities. Good air con and shower with plentiful hot water. Nice breakfast. Beautiful view from the balcony. Not too much noise from the main road, especially considering how close it is to central Ubud. One of our best stays in Bali!

BelgiumThe bathroom smelled quite strongly of humidity, a common problem in Bali. But the main room was ok, so it didn't bother us too much. There isn't any reception so it's not so easy to speak to someone, but you can always give them a ring.
Lovely place, far from noise but still a stone's throw away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Very comfortable bed, and pleasant little breakfast

ChinaLoris is a great place to stay. This is our 2nd time here. The value for money is great, the owners very friendly and helpful, and the setting is really nice and peaceful. It's simple, but that's reflected in the price. The rooms have great AC and good showers. It's an easy walk to everywhere. We'd happily come back again.

United StatesThere isn't anything that I didn't like.
The place is exactly as you see in the pictures. Very clean and spacious. The beds were made, and the room was cleaned every day, which is unusual nowadays. Lori is very attentive and a wonderful host. The location is perfect, just 6 minutes from the Palace and within walking distance from other attractions.

DenmarkThe internet was unstable.
The room was spacious. We also had a large balcony. Although we were in the middle of Ubud, the balcony and the garden were very tranquil. The host was very nice and accommodating.

EgyptShower could be stronger, and boiler capacity could’ve been bigger, also drainage is not the best, but the facilities were sufficient as we spent the majority of our time exploring Ubud.
-We stayed there for a total of wonderful 7 days -First of All Loris is amazing, she is very friendly, very welcoming, and she didnt hesitate to help us in any of our needs. - The location is the best in my opinion, because the street is not busy but its 1 minute walk from the main street of Ubud where it is very crowded and full of everything you would want to see in Ubud. Also it is very safe around the area with the best coffeeshop in Ubud right in front of the house. - The room was nice and cozy, the balcony was out of this world beautiful, the bed was clean and comfortable, the AC worked really well too. -They offer breakfast daily, and cleaning service daily -Value for money i would say really good

BelgiumRelatively early at night, the hostess had left, leaving us only with their son and parents who only barely spoke English. The boy, however, was kind enough to let her know our preferred breakfast over the phone.
By far the best accommodation for the price we had during our whole holiday! The hotel is located in a very peaceful enclave in the middle of the city center, so, you immediately forget about the crowded streets upon entering. Breakfast was tasty and served very early in the morning. The rooms are spacious, clean and with great aircon. There's even some relaxing fountains to accompany you during breakfast.

SpainThe bathroom is big but it needs a bit of maintenance. During our stay there were building a new construction in the compound so it was quite messy and sometimes noisy, but it will be temporary.
Very well located homestay in the center of Ubud but quite and silent at the same time. Big Room, big bed, breakfast is served every morning in the terrace. Staff is kind and always ready to help. Scooter rental available. We felt comfy here!

United KingdomBathroom could do with a deep clean! Shower didn’t drain particularly well. Would have liked a safe and/or mini fridge but didn’t take away from the property! Check in process and entry to property initially felt uneasy.
Lovely breakfast on the balcony overlooking the city. Spacious twin room. Nice and quiet but very quick to access main area of Ubud. Air con very good.

United KingdomThe entrance off the road itself is not the nice, it's very messy with rubbish and there is a lot of construction going on with a lot of men hanging around smoking, looking at me... Also there seem to be a lot of homestays in the same area which is fine but a bit confusing, and the other homestay family's kitchen was right by my room and they were quite noisy and ignored me. The shower needs to be drained properly as it floods and it would be nice to provide soaps etc.- Loris gave me soap when requested. Also it would be good to have water available to refill bottles at all hours. I don't like to buy plastic bottles. I would come back but hopefully this review can help improve the homestay :)
Loris is really lovely and kind. Breakfast was simple but really good served on my balcony each morning when requested. The room itself was big and clean and comfortable, with lovely light and garden right outside. Loris also provided me with meals on Nyepi day and I ended up extending 3 more nights. The location is so good for everything in Ubud. I would come back to stay again :)

IndonesiaUnreliable wifi, reasonable speed but not very stable as the connection would drop from time to time. When I flush the toilet, the water would smell like sewer sometimes. The water pressure from the shower could also be stronger and the drain can be somewhat clogged. There's currently some constructions done near the vincinity so the entrance might not look the best.
Strategic location with breathtaking views during the sunrise/sunset from the second floor room. The room is spacious, clean, and quiet. The bed is massive and comfortable. The staffs are amazingly friendly and helpful.
