How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe staff are amazing. Sita is so communicative and supportive both prior to and during your stay. The accommodation restaurant has a good range of food and is reasonably priced. Drinks and food can be served in a variety of locations. You pay the tab at the end of your stay. Overall atmosphere is amazing
The location is quite remote and there are limited options for where to go and what to do in close proximity / walking distance. Sita provides access to activities (such as caving) and even offered to take us to a nearby local event in the evening. As the accommodation is in nature, be prepared for some wildlife.

Verified reviewThe property was clean and in a nice environment, with lots of trees and green around. It has a backyard garden too, where we were brought by the owner to explore the cultivation techniques of the Kasava.
Nothing to report, everything was very nice and easy

Verified reviewIt’s a quiet place with lovely staff. Clean rooms and a nice and green pool area.
The WiFi connection was not that good and they could improve their food menu at the restaurant. But the food they had was really nice.

Verified reviewProperty overall aesthetically pleasing. Staff were lovely and attentive.
It’s extremely remote and not a lot to do round the area. I’d highly recommend booking things outside the villa, such as jeep hire as it’s much cheaper than going through the villa staff. The pool area needs a good clean.

Verified reviewBeautiful property with a garden and pool close to many beaches around the area. The cabin was cosy, clean and decorated in a balinese style. The staff Sita and Erna were amazing and very professional. Both of them were always happy and ready to assist us. Erna cooked us delicious meals everyday and tried to change it up a little bit every now and then based on our preferences. Sita organised jeep tours for us to have lobsters in a local restaurant as well as to Timang Beach. In addition, she and her husband drove us for an hour to the city centre to get some local souvenirs like Batik shirts and bakpia pastries. They also brought us to their go to spot for a local dinner. We had such a wonderful stay over the week and would love to come back again in future. Thank you very much Sita and Erna! 😍

Verified reviewLight blue villa is amazing place. The staff there are really friendly and they are ready to do everything to make your stay perfect! breakfast was good and you got it when you needed it. Pool was clean. The villa area is really beautiful with lots of flowers, butterflies and beautifull decoration. Rooms are ok. There is hot water in the shower and the water pressure is great. Villas staff organized many trips (beatifull caves, jeepride and even trip to yogiakartas Bodobudur, Prambanam and Merapi, fruit market, souvenier shopping and even a local traditional dance night <3) for us and everything was really easy with them. Sita and Erna are amazing people <3 We felt really welcomed and alredy miss the place and the staff. Sitas english is really good so its really easy to get a long with her. And I love the humour <3 Many beaches near the villa that you can go in few minutes walking. Also many warungs on the seaside, but I recommend eating at the villa. They are excellent chefs and make many delicious local foods. Really good place to stay and even we stayed for a week, we felt that it was not enough ;) :D
There was some problems with aircondition in some of the rooms. The room was as hot as it was outside. But the staff made everything to repair the situation. We got coolers in our rooms and they tried to fix the aircondition. Eventually they gave us new room where the aircondition was really good! After this, the place was perfect to stay :)

Verified reviewNice villas, nice swimming pool, good food, very affordable and good value for money. The owner went out of her way to help with visits to local caves, beaches and fish market. Also, convenient airport drop off.
Unfortunately, the islamic school that opened across the street can be quite loud in the evenings and early morning. Ear plugs are highly recommended!
