Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesTulamben’s tourist infrastructure is primarily lots of dive shops and a few restaurants strung along the primary coastal road. If you want more of a village feel you may want to stay in Amed.
Liberty Dive was a great choice in Tulamben . Our economy room was huge, with large picture windows that overlooked a pool and expansive, well-kept gardens. We had a big private patio as well. King-sized bed very comfortable, AC ran cold. All the hotel staff, from the front desk to restaurant to groundskeepers were super friendly. Chandra was an excellent dive master for our fun dive on the USS Liberty through the resort dive center. Adequate breakfast included in our booking and decent menu in the hotel restaurant, both served in a large, airy space

SingaporeContinental breakfast was a bit lacking, whereas local breakfast was very good and worth trying if you like Indonesian food.
The resort was really well taken care of even during the low season. The WiFi was fast and reliable from the individual villa room. Expansive grounds with multiple swimming pools to ensure it never feels crowded. Pleasant environment with many green areas, plenty of trees and feathered visitors. On a clear day you will catch a view of Gunung Agung from your room! Good dive center with updated gear and professional staff.

Great location for diving at the Liberty wreck - just off the beach. They’ve expanded since we stayed here 14 years ago and there are now three pools and over 30 bungalows. Clean and comfortable. Friendly staff.

CanadaThe beach was not so much a beach as boulders. Hard to navigate to even go swimming.
I went off season, so I didn't go diving, but the staff and facility was top notch. The bungalows were well spaced out, so very private and they were large with a great balcony in the shade. They have their own diving specialists and gear to take you out and explore the Liberty wreck. The restaurant served a very good breakfast and had an excellent menu and food. There were also numerous other restaurants and coffee shops close by. They also had their own driver at a reasonable price, since Grab isn't really an option on the north side.

United StatesTulamben does not allow Grab or Gojek so it is hard to find cheap transportation anywhere, however the resort offers taxi service at the desk. We, as frequent travelers, found our own taxi service outside of the resort just by talking with locals (getting massages) which was far more inexpensive than the resort would have charged. Regina’s husband is a private taxi driver and shuttled us around and to our next location as well for a very good price.
The breakfast was delicious! You can choose from Indonesian options to western options such as sausage bacon and eggs with fresh fruit juices coffee or teas. This was included in our room rate every day. The pool(s) were so pretty and massive with giant bean bag lounges and traditional loungers surrounded by beautlful foliage. Our room was phenomenal! We were blown away. The bed is out of this world comfortable. And the private bathroom had a full size tub and shower combo to soak after diving. They also offer on site massages very inexpensive either outside under the pergolas or in your own room….BUT we found a hidden gem (Regina’s Massage) up the road. She even offers free pick up and drop off. You will NOT regret it. My husband dove with this company and was very thrilled. I, unfortunately, had an ear infection and could not enjoy diving while visiting here. However, it is the easiest dive shop to work with. You can tell them what time (anytime) the day before and they are accommodating. In fact, each dive my husband did, it was just him and the dive guide without paying for a private guide. They offer the bigger tanks if you blow threw yours quick or haven’t dove in a while for $10 USD extra. They even allowed me to attend one morning on the boat to snorkel while he dove. Ask for a wetsuit beforehand. The waters are colder than we are used to being from the southern USA. Most people use 5 mils here. I would have been fine (warm) but the biggest problem were the jelly’s. They were everywhere! We recommend 1,000% getting a taxi to Sunset Point in Amed. It is about a 20-25 min drive but well worth it. Get there early!!! Seats fill up fast. But it has the most beautiful views of the sunset over the ocean and volcano as well as a massive infinity pool. And GREAT food. (Get the pizza!) & an espresso martini 😋 see photos below of sunset beach.

United StatesNot the fault of the hotel, but no Gojek or Grab in the area made it very hard/expensive to visit other places. On site laundry was much more expensive than getting it done off site. Beds were a bit hard for my taste.
The resort was well kept. The AC worked well and we really loved having a fan in the room. Having 3 pools was great too. The on-site restaurant was overall very good. All staff we talked to were kind and helpful. This hotel was about $15 more night than one we also stayed at down the street... all I can say is it's worth every penny. Wish we would of stayed here all four nights instead of splitting it up. Free Nitrox for divers too. Great wifi.

AustraliaOur TV did not work - staff tried to fix it but could only get YouTube working and they were satisfied that it was fixed - not good. Breakfast was very minimal and it was a choice of one or the other and you couldn't have both..... should be more flexible for the room amount paid. There was a woman walking around the resort trying to get our attention to have a massage - we didn't like the fact that she kept looking into our room to try and get our attention. This happened twice during our stay - it was uncomfortable and we didn't like the intrusion.
We liked our room as it was spacious and it looked out to the pool. The pool was great being only steps from our room and the gardens were fabulous and absolutely beautifully manicured. Dive guide Karma was very pleasant and very good.

AustraliaBeyond the perimeter of the resort could do with some cleaning up as it tarnishes the visual impression as you approach.
The staff at Liberty Dive are exceptional. I found them to be consistently friendly, extremely helpful, efficient and resourceful. For example we asked about climbing Mt Agung and within 5 minutes, the concierge had organised a driver and guide for that night. When we checked out, the billing was meticulous. We visited at a very quiet time of year, however the restaurant was always available with delicious meals. The villas and pool were beautifully presented and spotlessly clean. Overall it was a great experience, the excellent staff being the highlight.

MaldivesNothing to dislike in this resort.
Spacious room cleaned everyday. This resort is big and the garden is well taken care of. Has big swimming pools to chill. The dive center on-board is really well equipped and staffed with friendly dive guides. From the resort to the famous liberty wreck is just two minutes and the diving here is marvelous. I'm very happy to be here.
