How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewWe liked everything. The staff at the hotel and the adjoining restaurant are all exceptional people. They are kind, thoughtful and helpful. The pool is worth every cent.
It would be nice for the pool to be only available for hotel guests.

Verified reviewRight on the beachfront plus a pool Large room, VERY comfortable bed Kitchen to use & free water provided Komang was a happy & helpful host
Just a suggestion- towel rails in the HUGE bathroom would be a good idea, instead of hanging them over the door! & outside 😁

Verified reviewIt was right on the jugut Batu beach where all the buzz in lembogan is, yet quiet and peaceful in the room. We could just get out of the door and step into the beach and that was a big plus and totally worth the money. The owner and staff were really sweet and helpful. They also have a well equipped kitchen that you can use but they might miss out on telling you about it at first, so would recommend to just ask about it when you get there. There is nice cafe- Kenya cafe right outside the property with good food and nice music. We spent most of our evenings at the cafe to catch a great view of the sunset. The beach has calm, blue waters to just chill in or swim when the tides are a little high- just be careful of rocks in the waters when you step in. Rooms are spacious and nice with running hot water in the showers, would definitely book here when I’m in Nusa lembogan next :)

Verified reviewThe location of this property can not be beaten! It was a 2 minute walk along the sand from the Ferry drop off, and was nestled perfectly in the middle of Jungubatu Beach. We were offered an upgrade (for only an extra few dollars) to seaview rooms which we were very happy we chose. The attached cafe/restaurant had a choice of indoor, outdoor and 'on the sand' seating. It had great food and drinks, and we spent many hours chilling in this 'heavenly' location. The infinity pool was a wonderful bonus, right on the beach!
The beds were definitely 'firm', facilities in the room basic, and cleanliness in the bathrooms below average. If you can cope with this, then I would still recommend, due to the excellent price, brilliant wider facilities, and incredible location.

Verified reviewThe location on the beach.. but that’s it!
So dirty.. they put us in a room up the back and up a huge flight of stairs even though we booked a room at the front. When we questioned it they become “oh sorry my English no good”.. just rubbish accommodation. The bed was like sleeping on a plank of wood! We had a mouse in our room.. everything was dirty.. the room .. the towels.. the sheets…just gross.. would never stay again no matter how cheap.. we both got sick here..
Dear Fiona. We have read your response and in our defence, we would like to add that your booking was for a superior twin room NOT a deluxe double room. In your booking the only thing you specified was that you wanted twin beds not a double bed and we confirmed that we had allocated you a twin room. Our only twin room is located upstairs in the back section of our property and this is clearly mentioned in our property description. We also fail to understand why you consider our propety to be dirty and rubbish accommodation when all other guests rate us highly on our cleanliness and friendly staff. It is obvious to us that you were expecting 5* accommodation (that is available on this island for $300+ per night) at a budget accomodation rate. It also appears that you must have only spoken to our housekeeping staff as their english is not good. However, Komang, the hotel owner, has very good English and is always willing to assist if you have any problems. All you need to do is ask. At no stage did you let us know in your booking, that you wished to be located on a ground floor. If you had told us, we would have explained that the ony twin room we have is upstairs, and you would have been given the opportunity to cancel your booking with no penalty. We pride ourselves on trying to please all guests. It is very clear that you did not give us the opportunity.

Verified reviewThe accommodation was comfortable and clean with good wifi. Staff were lovely and the room was serviced daily. While the swimming pool was small it was a welcome relief from the heat. The location is right on the beautiful Jungutbatu Beach. Easy walking distance to many warungs and restaurants. Several boat tours nearby (I recommend Captain Coconut). Snorkelling near Manta Rays was amazing! I loved the drift dive too and Crystal Beach.
