How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewGreat location half way up Sok Wayah. Easy walk to the centre of Ubud, yet quiet and cosy. Cute cottages with pool. No breakfast, but several great eateries within 2 minute walk. Own kitchen, great for easy eating. Unlimited fresh water.
Fresh towels more often

Verified reviewVery nice location, out of traffic and surrounded by rice terrasses. Cute bungalows. We loved our stay.
Frogs made a lot of noise during the night, and the bungalows could be maintained a bit more (the floor for example).

Verified reviewThe outlook over the jungle was so beautiful from the Villa. Plenty of space in the kitchen and nice table to work from
Shower pressure could be better.

Verified reviewIt was really nice surroundings with good cafes and restaurants around.
The only thing that one can find a bit annoying is that Cars can't go through that area so you need to walk or use a scooter around, but that's just 300-400m or so .not a problem for us

Verified reviewQuiet and serene villa in the jungle. Great amenities. Not a bad walk to get into Ubud center. We even had a monkey show up on the patio on our last morning which was a cool surprise. The pool area is also nice when the weather cooperates.
Very humid and damp. Even with the AC going in both rooms, everything felt damp and smelled musty constantly. It is a partially open air villa and it rained a lot. The bedding is a sheet and waffle sheet on top. No extra bedding. Low water pressure in the showers. Take note, this villa is not accessible by vehicle. Only accessible by foot or bike. There is a steep hill to go up from the main road so be prepared.

Verified reviewThe privacy. We saw no other villa from our’s. It was also located up a hill, away from traffic, which was lovely.
The fact that there was no car access wasn’t perfect, but the manager, Wayan Beli, was incredible with taking out luggage (and our persons!) on his motorbike up to the property.

Verified reviewWe especially liked the great location of the accommodation, especially because it was away from the busy main street of ubud, but just a little walk away from everything. We really enjoyed the host Beli, who drove us around a helped us by giving us great recommendations

Verified reviewThe location of this place is just wow. You will be a short walk above the city streets and restaurants etc., located in the beautiful, peaceful, green surrounding with different birds and chickens waking you up in the morning, rice fields around and 2 amazing coffee and breakfast places. The house/bungalow itself was nice, clean and comfortable, staff friendly and helpfull. I already recommended my other friends to visit this little paradise when in Ubud.

Verified reviewThis property is located along the Sari Walk - a quiet, rural, part of busy Ubud. The sounds at night were soothing - frogs, birds, insects. The owners were lovely and the beds were large and comfy. A large drinking fountain of drinking water was provided. The pool was clean and lovely to swim in.
The accommodation is very rustic, which wasn't apparent in the photos. It's two wooden huts. There are gaps between all the timbers, and no screens. The only protection from mosquitoes were the mosquito nets around the beds. The stairs would be problematic for anyone with mobility issues. It's also quite far from the main road, with walking and motor bikes providing the only access. Fabulous for fit people on a budget. Not so good for anyone who,'s a bit paranoid about mozzies.

Verified reviewThe hotel/bungalows are a short walk from the main road. Quiet and picturesque. Animal sounds in the night. The lovely garden with the cool pool. Would come back anytime.
It is not possible to get by car to the bungalow, but that did not bother us too much.

Verified reviewBeli & Uni were amazing. Also, what I saw on the internalnet was what I got, exactly. 6 others were nothing like the Internet. I loved the location, massages, facials, yoga and pukako cafe and the traveller also great. Thank you. I will tell my friends or anyone coming to Ubud. Also loved the walk up the path/rice paddies. Kind regards Heather MacDonald
The venomous green snake I almost stood on while walking to naughty nuri's, along the main road!

Verified reviewClean but very basic. Just Weiden for that you can see the ground below if there is a hole. Walls just one layer of wood. You could hear next door cabin speaking and having sex.

Verified reviewVery friendly staff and low occupancy so it felt private. The bathroom was better than most places we've stayed. It was charming in it's own worn way.
The place was very termite ridden. The bed was very loud if you moved in it. Looked much better in photos than in person.
