How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewt was the worst hotel experience of my life! Everything was terrible. The only good thing was its location. I stayed for 5 days, and can you believe they didn’t change the towels even once? I was really shocked. The food was awful—so little of it too. And on top of that, the staff were indifferent and disrespectful… Where do I even start? I barely managed to endure those 5 days

Verified reviewWe booked a wooden lodge. Although they are up 2 flights of stairs they are beautiful, & overlooking the gardens and pool. Peaceful & tranquil, the whole place is a lovely quiet retreat. Step outside the compound & you’re in a quiet side street 200 metres from the centre of Ubud. Absolutely perfect location. The hotel booked us an English speaking driver (Wayan) who took us on a fantastic day tour north of the city. 10/10

Verified reviewCentral location, a short walk from water palace and market. Our room had a beautiful balcony and view over Ubud. There was a lovely, cool swimming pool (only just big enough for a dip though). Breakfast was just adequate - fruits, one dish of your choice and one drink of choice.
The bed was a little hard.

Verified reviewSpacious and clean room. Beautiful inner garden and a pleasant location overall. The property has potential and a nice vibe when it’s quiet.
The pool had only two loungers, which would’ve been fine if it weren’t for the constant noise — sawing, welding, or hammering all day long. Not exactly relaxing. Also, there was no hot water unless I asked for it every single day.

Verified reviewThe room was great with fantastic views right in heart of Ubud. Lovely pool and gardens.
But we were not aware of the stairs we had to climb and my wife had a bad knee. They were full so couldnt give us a lower floor room.

Verified reviewThe lush gardens
Many many steps up to the wooden suite, aircon not cold enough for wooden style room as it got extremely hot, dog that lived in the compound barked all night, the staff made it feel like an imposition for staying there.

Verified reviewThe room, the balcony, the location… we just loved the style of the house and the green park in front. The room was beautifully furnished – tasteful furniture and a harmonious style created a very pleasant atmosphere. They have private parking for scooters that they lock in the night. Never park in the street in front! Internet worked good, shower was pleasant, there was a small fridge and a kettle to make tea or coffee.
Sometimes the dog was loud in the morning. Sometimes other dogs were loud in the night… these are just things you can’t control. Like rain in Ubud.

Verified reviewVery good stay right in the heart of Ubud if it's for a few nights. Staff is very helpful even though English is difficult for them.
No problems, maybe the back of the dog for quite very long periods but nothing major.

Verified reviewWe enjoyed our stay at Lastana Suites Ubud. The location is quiet but still close to everything, and the room was spacious and comfortable. While the bathroom could’ve been a bit cleaner and the hot water was sometimes inconsistent, overall it was a relaxing and good-value stay.

Verified reviewThe property was beautifully located and the grounds were stunning. It was truly like staying within a Balinese family compound. The peacefulness and serenity was exactly what we needed. I read reviews and people consistently commented about the breakfast not being enough. To those people I say, if you want a bigger buffet breakfast, go stay in Kuta or Legian with the Aussie bogans. This was a light, fresh perfect start to the day and with the price we paid, it was spot on and tasty. If you’re still hungry Prince of Bali next door does cooked breakfast. Also people commenting that the staff didn’t speak English well- you’re staying in another country! Don’t expect the whole world to suit you just because you only speak one language! We spoke some Indonesian and with google translate to fill in the gaps, it worked well and we had no problems at all. The team there were attentive and helpful and we will absolutely stay again.
Everything was perfect no complaints

Verified reviewGreat central location in Ubud Suites 301 and 302 are great with individual verandas and my friend and I enjoyed having these during our stay but you climb stairs to get to it
The staff don’t speak much English and the accommodation seems to be within a temple complex Breakfast is basic but okay
