It was dirty the Kitchen especially was dirty

We had a wonderful stay at Lara Homestay. Lara and her team were always incredibly helpful, supported us with everything we needed, and shared many valuable tips. The homestay is simple but welcoming – we really liked our room, and it was clean and comfortable. We would happily stay here again and can definitely recommend it to others.

The toilet was dirty and the pool too.

Amazing location

Nice staff, the room was comfortable, and the location was perfect.

I expected the breakfast to be a little bit better, the coffee was burnt and the food was tasteless or very simple.

The hotel is close to the Main Street and there are lots of restaurants near by. 2 years ago, we stayed in one of the deluxe rooms and it was a good room for our stay. I cannot comment on the state of those rooms now.

I didn’t see the difference between the budget room and the deluxe room when we booked. The budget room was a significant downgrade from our previous stay 2 years ago in the deluxe room. The sheets were threadbare and stained, the towels were also the same. The bathroom was awful. There was black mould on the walls in the shower, and the water coming from the shower and tap has an awful smell. I refused to wash my hair there because of this. There was no handle on the bathroom door, meaning we could not close the bathroom door from the bedroom side and it was unnerving to sleep knowing black mould was circulating in the ac unit. The floor also did not seem safe. It was crumbling beneath us in parts which was quite worrying. There is a tiny window that doesn’t open in the room, so it felt like we could not get fresh air in the room. We booked this room for 4 nights as we had a great time 2 years ago. We arrived late on the first night and were seriously considering leaving the next day. In the end we stayed for 3 but felt very uncomfortable the whole time.

Great location tucked back on a side street from many great restaurants. Bed comfortable. Clean room. Breakfast was also tasty with friendly staff.

Pool was a bit dirty so we didn’t use.

The road getting there had scary dogs that chase you at night. Bumpy road as well.

Lara is very accommodating and helpful. She even made me try fried cassaba root! She makes her place worth stopping by! The bed was very comfy and the breakfast delicious!

Nothing - I got what I paid for.

Lara and the team were very welcoming and friendly. The location of the accomodation is very central and they were happy to organise transport or anything else we required. This is a good budget accommodation.

The room we had was in need of a little maintenance and was a little grubby but it was fine for the price we paid and we'd happily recommend.

It was a fair price and good location, close to the central street.

The A/C didn't work in our room: it didn't cool at all, only fan, and it would stop working every hour. We woke up every hour from the heat... The owner told us that she's getting the A/C fixed but judging by other comments here, she's been telling that to guests complaining about the same issue for weeks

The staff were excellent.. Lara was very helpful in organising anything we needed and wan wan was the best driver. He went out of his way to improve our experience every day!

Very good location

Our room had little to no air con we had to ask for a fan which didn’t help much, so got very little sleep

Lara and her family took great care of us and made us feel very welcome. They shared some local knowledge and helped plan the best places to check out. Breakfast included, great staff and start everyday or when returning. Easy going and happy to help out with transport, bookings and setting up travel needs.

No real issues.
