How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewWe stayed in a gorgeous bungalow. The pool area was fantastic with great views for sunset and the food very good for Bali in the restaurant.
Only thing that could have made it better was improving the cocktails. Thought these were very disappointing and the wine also not good. Difficult to think of what else to drink as a female who didn’t want to drink beer at sunset!

Biggest upset for me was the price dropped so much when our booking approached, i really hate it when i book for 160 - 170 eur per night and then there is a much better deal on booking like around 100 for the same days... thats a steep discount which would annoy anyone.

If you need to take a taxi, don’t book this hotel, there were group of taxi gangsters outside shouting to my wife, didn’t allow us to get taxi from apps. You will need to walk 10 minutes through a hill to wait for your taxi. Location is awkward if you want to go to busy areas have drinks.

Rooms so small they don't even have a chair supplied and our old bed ( Shaka 3) was the hardest/worst l have ever slept in. Hotel quite isolated in rural area so need a taxi to go anywhere and due to this drinks are expensive.

Verified reviewThis is a very beautiful place in terms of nature, but other than that, there is nothing left. The service staff is terrible, not enthusiastic, even taking advantage of guests. You are not allowed to enter the swimming pool or other services without permission, you have to check in and go through complicated procedures to enjoy them. The room is not soundproof, the restaurant plays music too loud, so it is very noisy to sit in the room. In addition, the room does not have basic amenities: no robes, no slippers, no phone to contact the reception (so you will not be able to call for help if you do not walk to the reception to call the staff). The food is terrible, the Italian restaurant with pasta and pizza is like frozen food bought from the supermarket, heated and served.

There are no complicated procedures required to access the pool—it’s available to all guests during opening hours, with only standard safety rules in place. • Cuisine: Your comment about our Italian restaurant serving “frozen supermarket food” is simply false. Our chefs prepare meals fresh daily, using high-quality ingredients. We’ve received consistently positive feedback on our food, and this remark comes across as more ironic than honest. • Room amenities: You mentioned the absence of a phone in the room. This is clearly stated on all our OTA listings and on our official website. If a phone in the room is essential for your stay, this could have been noted prior to booking. Transparency is important to us, which is why we make sure guests have access to all relevant information in advance. Overall, your review contains numerous exaggerated and inaccurate statements that do not reflect the experience we work hard to provide. Verified reviewWow. The photos don't do it justice! This place is just gorgeous! Location is stunning. Whilst there's a long bumpy road to get there (and many places!), once you're in, it's like another world. Sunsets are beautiful from the infinity pools, there's access to the little beach below, and the huts are so big and spacious. Service was very attentive, carrying bags, checking for more drinks, checking satisfaction of the food. Which was really good! Breakfast in particular, was very very good.. The room was very spacious, cool enough with the AC, and a big bathroom. It even had incense to burn. We're just so sad we were only there for two nights - could have stayed a week!
Almost nothing! Was so good. The only small small thing was the pressure in the overhead shower wasn't good. But the handheld was fine. The pillows were also not the best.
