    The lovely staff

It doesn't have the service that we expected from the booking.com site. The breakfast was unhealthy and uninspiring. The mattress was so old and decrepit that the springs were poking up through the bed. We both have very sore backs after our two nights there. We couldn't get any ice for our water and the lack or food was an issue given we had looked forward to meals similar to the photos on the site. It was an issue considering it's out of the way location. We booked on the basis of the glowing reviews about the owners and their local knowledge and great service so were disappointed to find they are no longer guiding the ship so to speak.

    Property response:

We are truly sorry for the inconvenience you are reporting to us. Following serious health problems, we were hospitalized in Java. Obviously, this situation resulted in shortcomings and anomalies, including cooking, which we can no longer do except by offering just side dishes. We apologize for this situation. [However, we would like to point out that several restaurants are located near our home stay.] Hoping for your understanding, Made Owner

Hosts were excellent, friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great and they also provide other tasty Indonesian meals at a cheap price. Aircon, hot water, plenty of space, all we needed. Lovely surroundings. 3 well behaved dogs. You need to be dog friendly.

Bed was very firm. OK for young uns. Short ride to lovely swimming beaches.

Michel and Nia are amazing hosts! They immediately made us feel welcome and we spent a lot of time just chatting to Michel about life and Indonesian culture (plus listening to his singing;)) and Nia made us delicious meals and the best banana pancakes ever for breakfast. They took us on a daytrip to discover Lombok island for a very good price and we were able to see some places we would have never seen if we had been travelling alone. The room was clean and comfortable and had a fan. And the dogs were very cute as a bonus!

My time at La Casa Homestay in Senggigi, Indonesia was truly special. The hosts went out of their way to make me feel at home. They even accompanied me to a local bakery to find a birthday cake for my friend. Sharing dinner with them twice added a personal touch to my stay. For a heartwarming experience in Senggigi, I highly recommend La Casa Homestay.

Michel and Nia are great hosts and integrate you into island life if you want them to. I had a great time! Breakfast is freshly prepared every morning and it's just fun to be there.

Nothing about the accomodation. The beach, which is right next to the accommodation, is nothing special and rather dirty. But that's not the fault of the two, just for your information. The best thing is to have a scooter so that you can get from A to B. And there are great beaches nearby and the two are always available for ideas and tips.
