Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwitzerlandEverything looked a bit better on the fotos. The closest road going to the beach is not that nice to walk, better if you get to the main street cross it, turn right and walk along the road for about 500 meters to a resort and from there to the beach.
It was our first place we stayed in Bali and ok to start our journey but afterwards we booked places we better ratings. Breakfast was good and the people very nice.

GermanyOnly thing that actually bothered us was that the staff does not even speak a little bit of English and also no good Bahasa, only Balinese. It was a challenge to ask for the most basic thinks - like Salt and pepper for breakfast, a room service or an additional egg. I think in a hotel you should at least expect a small vocabulary:)
The place itself is really nice, quiet and with a unique atmosphere. It is kept in good condition by the staff. Sure, everything is really simple, but you cannot expect anything more regarding the price. There are some simple things you could do to make the stay even nicer - like a fridge in the room or a bathroom bin that is not open at the top. But overall a great place, I'd always come back!

United KingdomOnly one staff member can speak English, they look nervous and don't communicate well even in Indonesian language. Lack of initiatives when things gone wrong. Towels were old and so thin. No kettle in the room, so can't have hot drinks. Breakfast are so basic and not many options. Extra bed was for camping, not a proper bed. Drinking water needed to be asked, not provided automatically. Although location is near the beach but you need to walk across a very busy road. Also next door to a sport stadium, so it can be very noisy until late night.
Fresh as surrounded by trees and areas are kept clean and tidy. It's good for short stay. Bed is comfortable. Air-conditioning worked. WiFi worked. The beach nearby is beautiful and plenty of restaurants there. Accommodations meet very basic requirements.

AustraliaI'd have liked a kettle in my room (but had a small immersion boiler with me, so used that). The shower was cold - not sure if that's usual.
I was pretty comfortable at Kubu Kak Dudung. It's old style accommodation and everything looked well used, but clean and thoughtfully appointed. The bed was comfortable, there was a power outlet near a mirror, which enabled me to use a hairdryer. It was an easy 10 minute walk to the beach, and there were several dining options at the beach and closer to the KKD.

United Kingdomthe pool didn't look swimmable, the shower didn't get hot which wasn't really an issue but could be for some, not the most sound proof so a little loud when it rains if you arrive back after dark there's a dog who does not like you to pass from another villa -was a bit scary

AustraliaIf you are a party person, or like to talk a bit loud, it can bother the other guests. We had a situation that a guest complained that we were being loud and we should shut our mouths😱 it was 7pm and we were just laughing around the pool, nothing too much. So, if you are in the comum areas consider the guest around.
Staff were very friendly, nice and helpful. Pool was very good and the air conditioning, 🫶🏼 perfect

AustraliaIf you're a night owl this might not be place for you. There are roosters nearby that go off at 7:30am. The bathrooms are a bit on the dingy side, but I wasn't expecting much and it matched my expectations. If a nice shower is a part of your requirement, probably not the best pick.
For $30aud per night as a solo traveller I can't complain. It's exactly what I needed: a place to sleep, keep my things and get refreshed. Staff were all wonderful and went above and beyond to ensure my stay was pleasant. Felt like a very authetnic Balinese experience. Wifi worked well and complimentary breakfast was nice. Short walk to Indomart if you need to stock up on snacks and water.
