How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewWhat a view!!!! The place is in the middle of rice terraces and the breakfast while overlooking the view was unforgettable!!! Lots of stars during the night, I saw some fireflies for the first time in my life!! The world heritage - Jatiluwih rice terrace is about 15min drive away. I wanted to do a sunrise trekking and the owner was happy to take me there by motorbike before 6AM (he didn't mind at all waking up so early for me, how kind...!) Honestly, the sunrise trekking was AMAZING. He also took me to the waterfall & a natural hot spring with extra fee which was totally worth it! After breakfast, I requested to try "rice planting" which he and his family happily accepted. It was fun and a great experience! I only stayed for 1 night but if time allowed I would have stayed for a few more nights there. Highly recommended! Arigato Putu-san🙏🏻Terima kasihhhhh!

Verified reviewBeautiful location, far away from the busiest tourist spots, quiet and rice field views all around the rooms. Nearby, you can visit Jatiluwih and Pura Luhur Batukaru. The hosts were kind and helpful. We were 2 couples and enjoyed the privacy, playing games on the patio of the 2 rooms. Tasty fresh breakfast with fruits from their garden, we were lucky to get the last delicious avocados of the season. You can also order homemade Indonesian food for lunch or dinner.

Verified reviewThe setting of the place was magnificent. You're away from the noise and around the silence. Putu and his wife did everything to make our stay the best possible. The traditional food was excellent. I had freshly picked lemongrass with chicken and rice, just delicious. Putu showed us a tour around the property, he showed us different plants and made us try a passion fruit that was ripped. We had an incredible sunrise view on Mount Agung and mount Batur as well. Can't recommend it enough.
Nothing.

Verified reviewThe view from Kubu is amazing amd quiet! The owners are dedicated, spending time to explain the neighbourhood and farming processes, propose food and drinks at anytime. We really appreciated our stay there.
The Kubu D'ume homestay location is in the country side and a bit far from main place. A rental scooter service could be appreciated to avoid the daily driver services to visit the Jatiluwih rice field that is nearby.

Verified reviewOur stay here was truly exceptionally beautiful. The room looks just like in the pictures and is really lovely. The view is breathtaking, but the hosts are the best part. They are incredibly kind. We have met many friendly people in Bali, but these two surpass them all. A wholehearted recommendation!

Verified reviewthe breakfast is simple but okay. The location is perfect in the middle of rice fields. Very tranquil and relaxing. The host is very friendly and helpful.
We stayed for 3 nights and they did not clean the terrace (or the rooms) during that time and emptied the overflowing waste bin only after we asked them to do so. It is rather difficult to find decent food. The host prepares food on request but that is not really a highlight. She also orders food from outside, but again not really good. There is a rather new little restaurant (warung) not even 10 minutes walk away but that closes at 6 pm.

Verified reviewWe stayed here for 2 nights as the last stop of our month long trip. It was perfect in every way to decompress from the traveling before we headed back to the hustling city. Exceptional hosts, homely meals prepared from local produce, comfy room and unbeatable location to reconnect with the nature. We wish we were staying for longer!

Verified reviewSettled in the middle of Jatiluwih rice fields this homestay is absolute hidden gem with gorgeous views & tranquility. The rooms are beautifully and simply decorated and furnished with basic furniture. Outside patio/terrace offers spacious table and chairs for relaxation and just absorbing the surrounding nature. The food cooked by the owners was always fresh and delicious and their genuine care and hospitality was outstanding! Highly recommend if you want to spend few days or even longer surrounded by nature without any city noise. Jatiluwih terraces are reachable within 20mins by motor bike.

Verified reviewWe had such a wonderful stay at KUBU D’UME HOMESTAY. We recommend everyone to book here! The location is beautifully placed in midst of the rice fields with incredible nature sounds and views all around. Putu, the homeowner, was very helpful. He showed us all around the area and even took us to a holy celebration in the temple. Putu and his family/friends were always up for being our guide and driver for a very reasonable price. It all felt really special. We got served delicious meals every day. The room and location were great, thank you kubu d’ume homestay!

Verified reviewThe location is amazing in the middle of the rice fields. The owner gave us a tour of the rice fields and the property. We enjoyed our two nights there. It is such a quiet and peaceful little place. We also did the payed tour with the Jatiluwih rice terraces, Tempel, and Waterfall. The tour was OK, but seeing the temple with any information was pretty boring. It would have been great if the driver could have given us more information but his English wasn't good enough.
The only thing I didn't appreciate was that we were moved to another room, meaning they took our stuff and brought it to the other room without notifying us. They had my whatsapp number and sent me a video from the rice fields but couldn't ask if it is ok to touch all of our things. It is not OK to take things and relocate them without asking. Everything was fine and at the same place in the new room but communication would have helped.

Verified reviewPutu and Gede are wonderful hosts. The beautiful accommodation is in the middle of the rice fields. We went on a hike through the forest and rice fields with Putu. He showed us coffee, cocoa, cloves, cinnamon, ginger, turmeric, papaya, passion fruit and many other plants in the forest. We harvested Papaya and Maracuja and ate them immediately In the evening, Gede cooks for the guests. We had the best meal of our trip. Afterwards, two women came and gave us massages. For us, the best accommodation of the trip, far away from mass tourism! In the morning, we were woken up by a beautiful sunrise!
