Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SloveniaI stayed at this beautiful place for 10 days and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Perfect gateway from crowded Ubud. You can immerse yourself in authentic Balinese culture and day to day life since you are living next door to the friendliest happiest Balinese family. If you are lucky you can observe an authentic village ceremony nearby. This is still a less touristic area with plenty of pocket friendly local warungs and coffee shops. For sightseeing you will need transport which can be easily arranged through an online gojek or grab app. Although I didn't ask I'm sure owners can also help you with that. There was only one room for guests at the time of my stay so you have a clean pool for yourself while you relax or admire the most beautiful garden. A Room itself is really spacious with curtains for privacy. Hot water runs immediately with good pressure, no moldy smell, no drainage problems. AC works good. You have kettle in room for coffee or something. WIFI is good enough and stable for zoom meetings. Breakfast is delicious and served with a smile in front of homestay where the family runs also a cafeteria and food options. For me as a solo woman traveler safety is of utmost importance. After first day staying here I didn't even lock room anymore. Ibu (mama) Kim is the friendliest person ever. She took good care of me. Thank you for everything. Respect for Bali, its people, Balinese unique culture ABOVE all.

IndonesiaWe arrived by taxi, so were unable to venture very far on foot. Did get to walk to 2 lovely waterfalls though.
What a beautiful tranquil spot. Loved the omelets for breakfast, a special addition for non Indonesian guests. The swimming pool was a delight

NetherlandsSomething we didn't mind but is something to consider when booking is that the place is a bit more remote from city, meaning you will either need a motorbike (which we booked through Kim at a set price per day, would recommend it this way) or book taxi's (grab) but that's more expensive. There's not much in the area except for some waterfalls and some food places to do by foot.
The family is incredibly hospitable and friendly, you can ask them anything and they will arrange it for you. They made us feel like a part of the family. During our stay they were building a cafe up front and on our last day it finished, we had our dinner there and the food was amazing. We'd also recommend Kim's coffee. Breakfast was freshly made every morning and we even got extra tea from Kim's mother who was lovely aswell. We had an amazing time here and I would definitely recommend anyone to stay with them even if it is for a short time to experience Bali life to the fullest.

Our stay at this place was charming and very pleasant. The room is spacious with a comfortable bathroom. There is one small table and a wardrobe for clothes, a small desk for work would be useful. Besides that, the room is clean and well-maintained. The breakfasts are tasty and plentiful, although not very varied, but that did not bother us. The pool is adequate and clean. Perfect for an afternoon relax. The owners are very courteous and kind, creating a very positive atmosphere and trying their best from all sides. They are very approachable and open. If you stay here, you must have your own transportation. It’s a great location for a trip to most of the island’s attractions. There is no hustle and excessive noise here. I recommend this place!

RomaniaWonderful and quiet. The family did a great job with the place. They have a fish pond, a temple and a swimming pool. There are not so many rooms so it's pretty intimate. The host is super polite and communicative. I would deffinetely recomment Kim's homestay. I am actually thinking of coming back here to stay a longer period.

PolandKim Homestay is a lovely place with a huge green garden. The swimming pool is clean, the room is big with everything that you need. The owners are friendly and nice. Breakfasts are big and tasty. It's not exactly in Ubud so you need a scooter to go anywhere.

AustraliaEverything was perfect for our stay. Seat cushions on the daybeds by the pool would be nice for comfort but that's not a big deal.
The Homestay is in Sumampan, about 20 mins from Ubud located on a main road with a coffee shop/restaurant next door and a few options for eating in close vicinity. Immaculately clean and tidy your generously sized room (has tea/coffee) is in a beautiful garden with pool at the door step. The whole extended family are very welcoming especially Niwayan who went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Breakfast is nutritious and a great start to the day. Waterfalls within walking distance and, if you have no scooter, Kim can provide transport if needed. A great place to experience local life in a safe and friendly neighbourhood.

HungarySadly, we didn't get the room we booked, and the one we received was a huge disappointment. Reviews mentioned a new and clean room, but ours was dated and moldy, both in the bathroom and the room itself. The bathroom had no ventilation, often emitting a strong sewage smell that ventilated into the room. There was no kettle or complimentary water (neither bottled nor refill). The room door couldn't be properly locked; the sliding panels could be locked together, but the two panels could still be slid open. When we pointed this out, the family, who didn't speak English, told us not to worry, assuring us their garden was safe. (Mr. Kim allegedly speaks English, but he didn't appear during our three-night stay.) There were no housekeeping or towel changes during our stay, and the pool didn't look clean, so we didn't use it. Also every time we would leave they kept asking where we were going like we had to report on it. We felt like we were disturbing the family with our presence and as if we were constantly under surveillance, which compromised our privacy. Unfortunately, we had already made another non-cancelable booking for a later date, but we do not wish to return. (Booking.com doesn't show the actual pictures of the room I uploaded, check them in Google maps)
The family was nice and tried to make our stay comfortable. They brought us tea and snacks when we arrived and again when we had to spend an afternoon relaxing by the pool due to an injury. They also woke up early to prepare breakfast for us when we had an early program for which we are grateful. Also the location is quiet and the garden is beautifully maintained, it could be a great place for relaxation.
