Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Great location. Very helpful staff who helped us organize a few day trips fully aligned with our requests. Love the overall atmosphere of the Balinese house with the different buildings

AustraliaThe room was very noisy. 5am wake up calls from the local rooster, mini fridge sounded like it was working overtime (we turned it off during the night) and the villa was under the pool so we had the noise of the pool being opened and shut. The bed was also rock solid and the shower was very awkward.
The grounds were amazing, true Balinese style being the local home of Ketut and his family. The staff were kind and helpful. The room was gorgeous with calming views of the rainforest.

FranceThe sheets and curtains were old and stained. Also I didn’t get WiFi in my bedroom
It was such a cute home, and people were very kind and helpful. I really felt cosy at Ketut’s place. It was a relaxing environment and close to the Ubud Palace and monkey forest. I recommend

Everything was perfect. The staff were extremely helpful, always checking on you. And the breakfast was delicious, best hotel breakfast I ever had

New ZealandThe wifi didn’t work from our room. It worked great from the pool though which is where we spent most of our time anyway.
The staff were really friendly and helpful. Really good location. We got the budget room, it was as you would expect from a budget room and we got what we paid for. The pool was lovely and the breakfast was good (if you have a big appetite like us you will most likely need a second breakfast after).

United KingdomMy room was quite dark and damp. There was mould on the curtains. The shower pressure was great however you couldn’t adjust the shower height or placement. There is no normal lock on the doors just a wooden slide latch thing.
The staff were super lovely! I cannot stress enough how lovely they were. 10/10 service. The place was also very beautiful and picturesque. The pool and pool area were lovely and the restaurant had delicious breakfast and also dinner/lunch options. The location is also fantastic - only a 10 min walk to the main street.

United KingdomBreakfast was a hassle. you had to inform owner what time you wanted to be served, you had to choose breakfast option from a day before , if you passed 1 minute after 10:00, you were charged because breakfast is only served until 10:00.
Location was very good. Walking distance from restaurants, souvenirs shops, spa/massage, market. Pool was very nice , lush atmosphere.

FranceThere was a slight smell in the room when I first arrived. It wasn’t a major issue, but worth mentioning.
The place has such an authentic vibe — it truly feels like you're staying in a temple, which makes the experience really special and peaceful. The staff were absolutely great: always helpful and responsive to any questions I had. The breakfast was a highlight — beautifully presented, full of variety, and absolutely delicious. I especially recommend trying the Indonesian breakfast option — it was fantastic!

AustraliaOur room was very small and a bit pokey - it was hard to get in and out of the bed. Would have liked somewhere to hang clothes, also a simple tea and coffee station would have been nice as it was too far to get an early morning coffee outside before 7.30 when their kitchen opens.
It is so beautiful and very peaceful. The bed for me was incredibly comfortable and I slept like a baby which is unusual. Ketut was lovely, all the staff were very friendly and helpful. The pool was just lovely. The place was full but I didn’t see or hear many other people- very peaceful.

United KingdomThe WiFi on the third floor was sometimes a little patchy and the AC in the room not the strongest.
Ketut's place is a beautiful traditional Balinese home full of character, only a few minutes' walk from the centre of town. The staff are lovely and kind. Breakfast was great, with a selection of fresh juices and a choice of Asian and Western, and the pool very inviting at the end of a hot day.

Polandour twin room's interior design wasn't my favourite (the bathroom is a bit outdated), but I loved the door and other Balinese elements.
I loved staying at Ketuts place! The hotel is hidden from busy streets, so all you can hear are birds and nature. The pool is next to a river valley full of lush trees and plants, which you can admire while having breakfast in the hotels little restaurant. We also really liked the dance show in the nearby temple and our own balcony terrace. I would definitely stay there again!

SpainI thought my room looked ‘tired’ and I could see signs of mold, along with the smell of damp that had been masked by an over powering air freshener, I barely spent anytime in my room other then to sleep, the aesthetic and atmosphere made up for this!
The property itself was totally stunning, the gardens and pool area were simply gorgeous. The breakfast was delicious I chose a different option each day , and the staff were very friendly and charming.

PortugalWhen we arrived the room floor was dirty and we asked the lady in the reception of someone could clean it, even though the issue was fixed not even an apology was said from the lady in the reception. Only had 2 towels, one per person, it would be nice to have 1 smaller towel for face, hair, etc. instead of just 1 big bath towel.
The pool area was beautiful and the room size - it was huge! The balcony was great too.

They are the most welcoming family! Their service is exceptional. Ketut personally makes you feel so welcome, we miss them all already. If you have any issues he is onto it straight away. They offer beautiful breakfast and there is in house massages available. It's a wonderland of architecture. There is a lovely pool also. The property is close to the main area of Ubud.
