Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IndiaCons - A little away from Ubud city, lots of traffic on the way. We asked one of the receptionists if they could arrange a cab to drop us off at the airport early morning at 6 am, he agreed and told us that the rate would be 455k IDR. We had a doubt so checked in Grab and saw that the rate was around 200k - 250k. When we told him that, he brought down the rate to 400k. Finally we booked a cab via Klook app and paid 250k. When we are spending our hard earned money and staying at a hotel, we expect the staff to be honest and reasonable, and not try to extract more money from us 🙏🏻
Pros - Private pool in the villa, wonderful staff and good food in the restaurant, easy access to taxis via Grab and Klook apps.

AustraliaAll the pillows were too thick. When requesting for a replacement, they informed that this was the only size pillows they had. Not much around within walking distance. For a 2 bedroom villa, there were no cutleries, plates or glasses kept in the kitchen. Food was a bit average at times.
Good size rooms, bathrooms and pool, friendly staff and prompt service. Bed was comfortable and location was quiet and peaceful.

United KingdomWe could have done with some towel rails to hang out wet swimsuits and towels. The floor in the outside living space gets extremely slippery when wet. My daughter slipped over and fell hurting herself twice. More mats should be considered to be put down to reduce this. The bed in the main bedroom is really lovely! We would have liked it to be on the opposite wall of the room, so you can look out and enjoy the gorgeous garden from the bedroom window and not the wall.
The 2 bedroom deluxe villa with private pool was a green sanctuary! The most beautiful outside space and great size swimming pool. It was a utopia, that we didn’t want to leave.

AustraliaNothing was wrong with our stay, however a few more breakfast options would have been great.
Everything was very clean, the staff were excellent and the local area is quiet and relaxing. It is a rather secluded area of Ubud, so restaurants and activities are a little further away, however that was a bonus for us as it was very peaceful. The pool was lovely and the staff were also able to organize massages for us in our rooms from one of the trusted local businesses. Excellent service all around. All the facilities were well maintained as well, which was a relief as some resorts and hotels were not cared for properly during the pandemic.

PhilippinesWe are a group of 5 (4 adults+ 1 kid) who stayed at the 2-bedroom villa for 7 nights. What we loved most is the staff—the receptionists, waiters, cooks, housekeepers, gardener, and driver—all of whom were very courteous, friendly, and will go out of their way to help. Their hospitality is truly outstanding. Restaurant serves good food, which was really a good thing, as there’s practically no other restaurant in the vicinity. We enjoyed the private pool in the villa, which was well maintained. Overall, we had a wonderful and memorable stay in at Freddies and will definitely consider staying here again.

IndonesiaThe villas were absolutely charming, and the staff were exceptional! Welcoming and attentive throughout our stay. From the moment we arrived until check-out, the interactions with other guests were enjoyable, and everyone was very friendly. The private pools and garden were perfect for the kids, who had a great time playing football in the yard. The location was convenient, with several restaurants and a mini-market nearby. I would wholeheartedly recommend this place as an ideal destination to stay!

IndiaThe bathrooms were open at the top and hence, some insects like lizards crawled in. I didn't mind the location as it's a bit far from the city center but if location is your prime concern, then please take this into account before booking

SingaporeIt was a bit of a ride from the buzzing heart of Ubud. We dodged the breakfast package, and it came out to be a wise move. The breakfast menu was very limited, esp. for a vegetarian. Plus, we had to let the staff know the day before by 9 PM if we wanted breakfast the next day. Not exactly what you want on a vacation. The room design felt like it was trying to play hide and seek with the outside world. No windows, no balcony, just a closed-off space. The bathroom doors were a see-through affair, which left us with only partial privacy. A bathroom light show that no one asked for, and highly irritating during the night and the early hours. Charging our devices turned into a real-life survival challenge. Not a single travel adaptor in sight, and the charging points were scarce. Asking for an extra towel felt like a secret mission. They wanted the old ones back first. And no body lotion or moisturizer was provided. A simple request for pen and paper left us empty-handed – they couldn't even spare a pen! One day, our bathroom towel decided to showcase its new hole. Thankfully, after some complaining, they came through with a replacement, and our towel game was strong again. The property didn't offer much space to roam and explore.
First off, the staff – super friendly and always ready to help. They really added a warm touch to our stay. The location was tranquil and had a peaceful aura, perfect for a getaway. Decent room size and a comfy bed. The swimming pool was small and average, but the poolside area was peaceful. Overall, the property had a calming vibe, it was squeaky clean, and the staff kept the smiles coming.
