We booked a twin room, but were told there had been a mix up and given a double bed. They did try to fix this by putting a mattress on the floor, but neither of us wanted to stay on that!

Bring earplugs cuz there are roosters everywhere in Munduk. Beds are never made, but it’s a thing in Bali, so get used to it.

The location was great, not too many scooters passing all day, but close to attractions. Comfortable was comfortable, view was amazing. The employees were incredibly helpful, they gave me early breakfast when requested. They have a restaurant with good food so if you don’t feel like walking, it’s available.

A charming place immersed in the Balinese jungle. From the moment I arrived, I was warmly welcomed by the hosts, who immediately made me feel at home. On the day I arrived, I wasn’t feeling well, and they kindly offered me a herbal tea that worked like magic! The location is perfect, just a short walk from the four Munduk waterfalls. The trail is easy to reach on foot, but the owner is also happy to give you a lift on their scooter. They also offer a variety of local activities, and you can truly trust their recommendations. The food at the warung is outstanding — homemade, authentic, and absolutely delicious. An unforgettable stay.

The bed was a bit hard, but honestly we were really pleased overall, and you can't beat the price!

We were here for 5 days, and no regrets! Made, Ilo, and their staff were absolutely wonderful! Ilo taught us to cook dishes that weren't even on the menu, and Made educated us about local treks and booked a local driver for us. I would highly recommend taking the cooking class, and eating here! Gado Gado, Dadar Gulung, Satay, and Mie Goreng or Nasi Goreng were always delicious (we always asked for extra spicy). The room was clean, and the view was unbeatable. It was also within easy hiking distance of 4 unbelievable waterfalls.

Kanaya Homestay is quietly located in the middle of nature. The managing family is most friendly and helpful with the usual traveller needs arising from the more remote location. With their scooters they took us to the starting point of hiking trails and organized a driver to show us the more distant waterfalls and sights. Their Warung prepares lovely food at very reasonable prices. Rooms were simple but clean. Excellent pancakes for breakfast. Overall a great place to stay and explore the Munduk area.

Friendly family and great location. The family showed us their farm with the own grown coffee, vanilla and so on. So be bought a lot of high quality spices as souvenirs. The family also arranged a driver for us.

Amazing stay at Kanaya! the room was great with an amazing view. The staff were all lovely and always happy to help. The owner is also a driver and guide and took me to all the places I wanted to go and also took pictures for me at the main attractions:) great experience for a solo traveller! A few of the typical budget stay bits and pieces could be maintained, like the bathroom sink tap which was loose. WIFI a little sketchy from the bedroom, but worked well in the dining/living area.

I’ve had the most unexpectedly delightful stay at Kanaya Homestay with Made and his beautiful family. This accommodation is humble aesthetically, but for the most important criteria for budget travellers, it ticks the boxes.
 Clean room and bathroom, comfortable bed, mosquito net, strong water pressure, HOT water, stunning views from the rooms and the open air dining room towards the rice terraces and three mountain peaks (don’t know what they’re called), I felt very welcomed and at home as a solo traveller. Home cooked meals were tasty and healthy, and I was well catered for as a gluten free diner. Kanaya Homestay is a bit of a walk down the hill from the main Munduk drag, which isn’t a problem if you’re on a scooter or motorbike. I didn’t have a bike, but Made was more than willing to drive me to ATMs in the neighbouring township, and do drop offs/pick ups on the days I did waterfall trekking. I really appreciated this. One of the rice terraces is close walking distance, and this is a lovely excursion, tranquil and naturally a great photo opportunity.

Shower gel and shampoo dispenser are not very good, it's very hard to take something from them, it's better if you have your own shower gel and shampoo. It's possible to listen everything from outside, be aware if you need complete silence to sleep. Toiled and shower on the same place (see picture). I saw in other reviews that the location is nice for the ones who don't have own motorbike, and I don't agree, I didn't find anything I can do by myself in walking distance.. and note that there's no Grab or Gojek here, so it is harder to get transportation.

Very nice and helpfull host. I came alone to this place I had a really good time here thanks to him, thank you! There's water, tea and coffe in the room, nice. There's a balcony with a very very nice view! Free breakfast from 8h to 10h, there are several options you can choose. Other food in the restaurant is delicious and the staff is very friendly. The water is for free. It is possible to get massage in the room.
