How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe location was excellent—just minutes from Ubud center, with plenty of nearby restaurants, yet set in a peaceful and quieter area with almost no traffic on the narrow access road. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, always cheerful and providing warm hospitality. Breakfast was simple but tasty, prepared and served by a very friendly and cheerful lady. I enjoyed the overall peaceful atmosphere, which made it a charming place to stay, especially as a solo traveler.
The room was quite dark with limited lighting, and keeping the curtains closed for privacy made it darker. There were mosquitoes inside the room, and I bought an electric mosquito repellent (when leaving after 10 nights I discovered one in the drawer). Because of the natural roof, geckos (or other small creatures) sometimes left droppings inside the room, even on the bed. The bed itself was also not the most comfortable.

Verified reviewIt was a lovely stay. The location was great, they had a TV that supported Netflix (important as most stays in ubud did not) and on top that the staff were super nice.

Verified reviewExcellent stay! Just a few minutes walking to Ubud center, with plenty of restaurants nearby, yet immersed in nature in a very calm and peaceful spot. Everything was perfectly clean, and the staff was super kind, friendly, and always helpful. A special thank you to Kadek and Leny for making the experience even more memorable. Highly recommended!

Verified reviewStaff were helpful and accommodating. Walkable, nice location with lots of cafes.
There was construction happening to the specific villa I was staying in so during the day it was constant drilling and hammering on the other side of my wall. It’s nestled in a garden so I was expecting bugs and would recommend getting mosquito spray. I wasn’t expecting the massive cockroach that decided to move in with me for a couple of days. The room was not bright but that’s likely due to the main lightbulb being burned out. They had no “do not disturb” sign so they made one for me but would still knock loudly when I had it up and woke me up a few times doing so

Verified reviewWe loved it! It was clean, cozy and stuff is really friendly.
It was really loud every morning, people from restaurant next to the villa were playing loud music from 7am and singing to it, so we couldn’t really rest and sleep well.

Verified reviewCentrally located
I was harassed to pay in cash upon arrival and harassed when I left because I lost one of their umbrellas: countless and constant messages at inappropriate hours. They also booked a taxi for my return to the airport and the so called taxi driver which was probably a family relative didn’t know where the domestic departures were, I came close to losing my flight. Complete lack of professionalism and customer care etiquette. Awful smell from bathroom Constant music from restaurant behind the room

Verified reviewLovely ladies at the front desk.
Rooms are dark, can’t keep the curtains open because everyone can see inside. The hot water in the shower runs out extremely quickly. You can hear little animals on the bamboo rooftop all night. No closet. A thin curtain separates the bathroom from the room. The breakfast needs improvement.

Verified reviewVery comfortable for the price. The breakfast is good.
There was a hole in our bathroom ceiling which made it rain in the room. The staff was a bit pushy with the texts (i gave them my laundry and they kept asking when i was going to come back, when i was going to pay, etc. When we came home he literally asked us for money the second we got in)

Verified reviewClean, comfortable, modern room/bathroom. Liked the little lounge bed. Staff was friendly. Basic breakfast. Liked the outdoors garden area. Short walk to main road, restaurant & shops.
It was ok for me because I was traveling alone, but be aware that there is no door to the bathroom, only a shower curtain so this could be awkward for people sharing a room.

Verified review- stayed for 4 nights Pros - spacious room -very friendly warung staffs . Loved their hospitality and they tried their best to meet your dietary needs - beautiful garden and pond with koi fish - quiet peaceful environment with nature sounds especially at night - villa looks gorgeous as its quite new Semi-outdoor bathroom is quite interesting but can get warm and stuffy on hot days. - good lighting and many power outlets around the room - allowed early check-in and free upgrade - limited breakfast choice but tasty and good portion. Ladies cooking and serving are very kind and cheerful.
- no fridge in room, - no iron available at property - handheld shower is fiddly with water spraying out from the back, weak drainage so can overflow if you take a long shower - no exhaust fan, - weak toilet water pressure - no mosquito net fitted around bed so expect mosquitos at night as there are gaps next to window and in bathroom as well. We ended up with quite a few bites during our 4 night stay - geckos can enter room. Other animals like mice or squirrels in roof making noise. Insects and creepy crawlies can enter room too - slow communication and no way to ask for anything after 9pm as there will be no staffs on site. There was a big gecko which got in our room but no staff was on site to help take it out (after 9pm). Communication is hard as there's no phone and whatsapp is the only option. Make sure you have whatsapp ready - noisy next door and behind the villa as there is a restaurant and residential houses (people talking, music playing, bikes roaring past). Carry your earplug if you're a light sleeper
