Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ArgentinaI just had to shower with cold water and it was rainy weather.
Great location, the owner is so nice and welcoming. They helped me return the keys and helmets of my bike cause I had to leave very early in the morning. They offer wifi.

VietnamIt waa not hard to find the place, they have a space for parking your bike as well. My room is neat, although without air conditioner the fan was cool enough. The staff was nice and helpful too.

TaiwanThe room was basically clean but there were some places that could benefit from occasional, thorough cleaning. It is on the ground floor so it is also shared by other creatures, such as ants that will check out your food and anything tasty to them (like something I stepped on and got stuck in the sole of one of my shoes), and a bit humid when it rains.
The room was owned by a local family and located within their traditional residential complex. The children of the owner managed it, even though they have their own day jobs. They were all very friendly and helpful, and provided free drinking water (from a water dispenser), tea, and coffee, use of a fridge, etc. It is very near the Ubud Palace and just across from two nice restaurants, close to a very popular cafe and silversmith's. I also loved the view from my window!

South AfricaThe shower head needs work in terms of the position to the toilet. We had to position it to the point where is was going onto the door of the bathroom 😂 But other than that, not too bad :) The one evening a pig was being “sacrificed”. We asked one of the staff about it and it was for a religious weekend that was coming up. They did come and apologise to us about the noise. I understand it was for their religious period that they celebrate every year, the sound was just very very off putting as you can imagine.
The bedrooms are clean and we had a nice balcony with tea and coffee outside. The air con was good too! Location is also very good, it’s close to restaurants and the centre of Ubud. We could also rent a scooter and do washing just down the road.

India1. The WiFi is quite slow so don't expect to watch high resolution videos on YouTube or other streaming services without having to deal with any buffering. 2. The bathroom looks old, dark and dingy. But it's an old house so I didn't expect much after seeing the exterior of the house. 3. The doors to the rooms have gaps so expect mosquitos to find it's way through them (but we werent bothered by any mosquitos or other insects during our stay. So I don't have any complaints about that). 4. It's an old house so they have the Indonesian electrical sockets and the plug placements are not the most convenient. I'd recommend you get plug converters for using your electrical appliances. 5. They have 2 dogs and a cat that roam around freely so if you are allergic to either of them, I suggest you find another place. (I love pets so this was actually a positive for me).
1. Very friendly and helpful home owners. 2. Amazing location because it is surrounded by restaurants (Warungs) and supermarkets. It's just a 10min walk away from Ubud palace, the art market and practically everything else in central Ubud. 3. The beds are comfortable and big enough for 2 people (my brother and I are quite large so I'm sure it could even fit 3). 4. The rooms on the ground floor don't have any AC but the fans are more than capable of keeping you cool and cozy during the night (I stayed there during the first week of July 2024).

SpainA few bugs (though you find them easily in accommodations in Bali, at least in my experience). The main door does lock but there is a gap left in between the two doors when fully closed. Haven’t had any issue with that but the gap’s big enough for someone to peak through it🙈 door locks with a padlock, but didn’t mind that at all.
The host was really amazing and very helpful. Location is great: just in the center of Ubud but you’re still in an oasis inside the property and its gardens. There’s a small terrace w a small coffee table where you can find cups and tea, feels very welcoming and lovely. Host helped me arrange a driver from the airport to the property as well.

A great place to stay. Clean, comfortable and cheap, in a great location. Very close to everything, but just outside of the chaos of the centre. Very quiet. Plus friendly staff, our own private kitchen, and a warm shower were all a bonus.

AustraliaShower in the bathroom isn't separate so the entire bathroom including the toilet gets wet when you shower. But you get used to it and for the price I'm not upset at all, just something to consider if you prefer a better bathroom/shower situation. Also, bed a little hard but I still slept well!
This place is so wonderful. Such cosy warm rooms that make you feel at home. The perfect size and perfect location with the most incredible warung down the road on the corner you have to check out. Laundry, food, and activities all within walking distance. Say hi to the family working there, they are so wonderful. even if you have to go out of your way it's worth it to connect with some of the most lovely people I've met. It's everything you could need. Fan is exceptional and cools down the room perfectly! Door locked with a padlock but it wasn't a problem for me at all. Lovely little patio as well. Wish I could have stayed longer!

PolandIt would be nice if more attention was paid to essential things like cleanliness, toilet paper, garbage, clean towels, clean bedding. Especially when the guest is here for a long time.
We spend one week here. The location is very close to the main streets of Ubud and you can find necessary things around. We had a kitchen next to our room with everything we needed to cook. The family in this house is really lovely and they gave us fruit at the end of our stay. All the time they were friendly and helpful.

CanadaUnclean. Didn’t look like anyone put much effort cleaning the floors, sink, or bathroom. The walls have holes for ventilation but no net to keep out the mosquitoes. Lots of ants and bugs crawling around. I can’t complain too much because the price is so low.

HungaryIt was a really safe place, but the door key was just a very simple lock. I was a bit surprised, but it didn’t bother me that much. I also missed having a proper kitchen, but it wasn’t a big deal.
This accommodation is like a little treasure, a beautiful little house, really nice people, and so much kindness. I received lunch, some fruit, or a WhatsApp message asking how I was feeling, and it truly warmed my heart. It was a pleasure to stay there. I felt like I was at home. Thanks for the stay!
