How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewWhat a great gem of a place to stay off a side alleyway. We loved our room with the four poster bed with mosquito nets and the open bathroom. Our food was upstairs so we felt we were amongst the tree and foliage. Ketut & Adi were wonderful and warm hosts and so informative about things they thought would interest us locally . Adi drove us to a bamboo forest surrounding (and we visited )Penglipuran village. We really enjoyed everything about that visit especially all the cultural aspects of Balinese life. Adi was so informative. They also organised our onward transportation. Breakfast was prepared on the property and delicious. If you wanted dinner, you could place an order from a local restaurant that Ketut would organise. The food was good but a bit limiting for vegetarians. I enjoyed the massages I had . Ketut will also organise a masseuse to come to the room. She was fantastic !!! We so enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend staying at Jungle Joglo. Suksma Ketut & Adi for all your warm and caring hospitality. 🙏
We didn’t have our own transportation which limited our own exploration but could organise any time with Adi to take us anywhere if needed.

Verified reviewComfortable room and bed. Great shower and lovely toiletries handmade by the host. Welcoming and homely.
Not so much to do if you don’t have transport and no restaurants in walking distance. Hosts collect a takeaway from a good restaurant.

Verified reviewWonderful stay at Jungle Joglo. A lovely welcome from the owner who was totally at one with her surroundings, even making her own plant based soap. The bed was very comfortable; the room had a kettle which seemed quiye unusual for Bali. Good variety of food, although dinner was a bit pricey compared to other places we stayed at. And great valed for money. Would recommend as a place to stay if you need a night en route to somewhere. ,
No complaints, just one loud and tired fan

Noisy a bit with rooster crowing just next to windows.

Verified reviewTitle: Instead of relaxing, I got stressed out by a rooster choir around the house. Not recommended. This was one of the worst experiences I’ve had in Bali. I went far away from the city specifically to find peace and rest in nature. I carefully selected this accommodation based on its high rating (9.5) and great reviews. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a friendly and smiling host — I thought I had finally found a peaceful place. How wrong I was. Starting around midnight and continuing until morning, roosters were screaming non-stop from every direction. Not just one or two, but dozens. They were so loud that it wasn’t just impossible to sleep — it was physically uncomfortable to stay in the house. My head was buzzing, my body felt drained, and my nerves were shot. I woke up feeling even more stressed and exhausted than when I arrived. To the owners: you need to decide — are you running a guesthouse or breeding roosters for cockfights? You can’t do both. These are not “sounds of nature,” no matter what you tell yourselves. Roosters don’t scream all night unless they’re caged, facing each other, and constantly agitated. And if you call your place “Jungle Joglo”, then live up to the name. “Jungle” means frogs, birds, and natural sounds — not dozens of stressed-out roosters screaming all night. You should rename your property to “Chicken Farm Joglo”, because that’s exactly what it felt like. There are no jungles here — none at all. Final verdict: complete disappointment. I left more tired and anxious than I came. Not recommended.

If I have to find something, I would say that the pressure of the shower wasn't that strong.

She even helped me learning Bahasa. The warmth of this accommodation is unbeatable and I would definitely recommend it.

Verified reviewSuch friendly owners and staff who go above and beyond. Ketut and Adi make you feel like family and as a solo traveller this makes all the difference. The breakfast was great and had a good option to choose from, the bed was really comfortable and really big for one person! There was a beautiful trekking trail at the end of the street it is down and a secluded temple space which ketut took me to. I love how invested and passionate ketut is about the work she is doing for the earth and community, with the enzymes. I really felt inspired by her and see how committed she is to making a difference in Bali and wider. She is so knowledgeable. I was also poorly when I stayed there and felt very looked after and supported. Ketut also cooked me dinner a couple of evenings which was delicious
I could sometimes hear my neighbours and having just come form a silent retreat my hearing was extra sensitive but after having a chat with my neighbours they shared that they couldn’t hear me.

Verified reviewVery beautiful and magic place! It is one of the small groups of accommodation which really cares about sustainability tourism, which I highly recommend to "copy" ideas and spread out for other accommodation in Bali. The rooms are spacious and very cosy with everything you need (to make coffee, tea, fridge,...) Breakfast is delicious and if you ask in advance they prepare dinner for you also.
That I couldn't stay longer....
