How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewLocation was fantastic. Off the extremely busy streets, on a smaller street with plenty of food/massage options (Pukako and Umami were our favourites). Staff were very friendly and the breakfasts were very good. Having the room right by the pool area was nice, great tropical feel. Generally a very nice place to stay.
Photos must have been taken when it was first built as it was a bit tired and needed some maintenance. Particularly the bathroom grout was quite dirty and the shower head loose Pool, although very beautiful, was too cold and didn't really see anyone using it the entire time which is a shame. Still a very nice place to stay though, the location, breakfast and staff more than made up for it :)

Verified reviewEverything was great! The staff is really nice, and the breakfast was fantastic! The swimming pool was a must-have. The room was impeccable, with hot water – and the fact that you can have free water is a big plus. I'd 100% return to this hotel. Thank you so much! Suksma ❤️❤️🙏

Verified reviewLocation grest although do get some noise from nearby restaurants with live music. Wonderful view from room. Fabulous breakfast.
Room had a damp, musty odour. Bathroom drains blocked and hose leaked by toilet so floor around toilet always a puddle. Shower overspill into toilet space and took all day to drain. I eventually inspected dains and cleaned out filth myself, which cleared the problem. Main stairwell was flooded with rain, making it dangerous. Room, very tired. Towels are very tired. Curtains and cushions filthy, but bed clean and comfy. No fridge, despite being booked in for 7 days.

Verified reviewWell located with lovely view of the rice field
Property is quiet tired. While clean it needs some repairs with decking around the pool showing water damage and sagging boards.

Verified reviewThe area is near to eatery and shopping. Main area and so convenience
The hot water is so little! Can’t have longer shower since the hot water tank is too small! Perhaps should clean up the bathroom well as I can see mould on the bathroom wall. Should also provide small towels! No TV! The path walk tile to the room is slippery full with moss. Should scrap it clean to avoid injuries.

Verified reviewWe were very pleasantly surprised with the choice of Juli House. We have stayed many times in the same locality and know it is off the main road but central to everything. TJuli House overlooks a rice field on Jl bisma which has many cafes and restaurants, and any services you require (massage, laundry, convenience stores). It's only steps away from from neighborhood laneways where you can find local warungs that serve up traditional Balinese food. The staff at Juli House could not have been more helpful. Being 'Jack of all trades' they ensured that they make you so welcome and kept the rooms and surrounds so tidy and clean. Breakfast is served downstair by the pool or up in your room. Some mornings it was a struggle to finish off the breakfast, more than what we are used to. Thank yoiu to all the staff for looking after us. We would definitelystay at Juli House again.

Verified reviewThe breakfast was yummy 😋, always served hot and well presented. The staff was friendly efficient, always willing to Tae pictures when requested to. The room was always clean and tidy The location was perfect close-by to shops, market and restaurants
Hot water was a challenge, gets cold quickly, after one person taken a shower, you need to wait for an hour for it to be hot again.

Verified reviewIt’s at the central.
We are only allowed to have three minutes of hot shower, after that there will be no hot water anymore, imagine it was raining on the few days we were there. And they told us because they only allocated 10L of hot water per day for the whole hotel, I think you should stick it clearly that there will be only three minutes of hot water for each shower…… The staff is not always at the counter which is really hard to contact them.

Verified reviewThe staff were the kindest, most helping people. Whenever we needed anything, or had any questions, they were always there to help. They cleaned our rooms twice a day, and left us notes and fruit. The breakfast was standard but still good, the options were varied yet simple. The location of the hotel was perfect, just off the main road of Ubud and yet still quite calm. The pool was also extremely appreciated, considering the temperature of Bali. The room was very spacious, well organised, but they could have had more hangers.
We only had a few minor complaints. The first being that the big sliding window door, was poorly installed, which left a big gap at the top, allowing for quite some noise to seep through and for some bugs to entire, fortunately they had some heavy duty curtains to dim some of the sound and reduce the amount of bugs that could enter. The towels sadly looked quite used, despite being washed, they had multiple stains which left me quite unsatisfied. Finally, the shower had a very limited hot water supply, which meant my partner and I had to take quick showers to have hot water.

Verified reviewLocation was amazing and the staff working there were so friendly everything you could wish for. The room was very pretty and I loved the view over the rice fields it was so peaceful. The hotel itself is well looked after I loved all the flowers up the stairs.
