How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe accommodation is very quiet during the day and placed very well. Bambus trees, rice fields etc.all around. We were welcomed very open hearted by the family of Jonny. The food was excellent (best Chicken Sate ever). Bed was very comfortable and the bathroom very new and clean! The Wifi was the best we had so far in Indonesia. We also did a tour with Oni and Umar which was very interesting and funny. Totally recommend the tour too! We were also welcomed to join the family in the evening to talk and try some new local food. We had nothing to complain about. Would book again, even longer next time!

Verified reviewThe room we had is into a Sasak traditional Village with the bathroom just outside the room. We had both dinner and breakfast and it was delicious, but the best part of our stay were the people that welcomed us as family. The day after we had a full-day tour of the rice fields, coconut and kopi process, waterfalls and monkey forest (where we could see black monkeys). It was just the 2 of us accompanied by Oni and Oni, two guys living in the village, and they were fantastic! They showed us around the fields, looking for the best spots and it seemed really an authentic experience. They were happy to tell us about the different stages of rice while locals were working and explained a lot also about the fruit trees we saw. The best thing above all was the warm atmosphere even if we stayed for just one night! As they say "welcome to your family"! They also helped us to organise the transfer to our next stop and they have different fixed prices for different destinations.
We had a little problem with the toilet as in the morning we found a little bit of flood, but as soon as we asked everything was solved so always ask because they are really kind!

The mosque nearby is quite loud, however it has nothing to do with the place itself which was in a isolated area in the the rice field

Verified reviewTetebatu is the best place in the world, you really have a blast, and Jonny’s place lets you enjoy it even more. The staff is amazing, the food is great, and Jonny makes afternoons and evenings even better with his guitar. Mr. Ali, Mr. Oma, and Mr. Oni are also fantastic guides. I’d come back without a doubt – I recommend it 100%!

Verified reviewWe stayed for 2 nights and I wish we had stayed longer. Jonny and everyone there were super friendly and welcoming. The views of the rice fields were lovely to wake up to and chill by the sunset. We took the walking tour where our guide Ari (and Oni) took us around Tetebatu. Showed us how coffee, spices and coconut oil are made, as well as the beautiful rice terraces of Tetebatu (with little to no tourists around) and some amazing waterfalls. Also the food was amazing! (Try out the Olah-Olah) Everything was truly amazing, they really show you the true Tetebatu experience.

Verified reviewWe had an amazing stay with Jonny and his family, who were all so welcoming and attentive from the get go! The room was clean and spacious with a terrace overlooking the rice fields and Mount Rinjani (though it was unfortunately too cloudy to see during our stay). The food was absolutely delicious (olah olah was to die for!) and very reasonably priced. We were short for time so could only stay one night in Tete Batu but Jonny made sure we could still do a day tour when we arrived late morning. The walking tour was incredible - we walked through the rice fields; saw the processes behind local coffee and coconut oil; visited 2 waterfalls; had lunch at a local restaurant; and visited the forest to see the grey and black monkeys! Nas and Oni, our guides, were fantastic and we spent the day laughing with them and learning so much about the local produce and culture. The evening was also a highlight - sitting with other guests to chat and listening to Johnny sing and play guitar! Thank you so much for making us feel like part of your family, we will definitely be back!
It didn’t bother us but it’s good to know there are a lot of noises at night (including the nearby mosques’ call to prayer in the early hours) - as expected when you’re staying in the middle of the fields with lots of wildlife around and in a Muslim community.

Verified reviewYou are literally in the jungle. If you want an adventure this is your place. To enter/leave the place you have to walk through rice terraces. Simply beautiful. Also, the place is in Jonny’s house and you can share with his family. Which was very nice and cool. We learned a little about how they made coffee and spices, petted their dogs, cows and chickens.
Only cold shower, but it wasn’t too bad either.

Verified reviewAfter 6 months of travelling around South East Asia, I can now tell that Tetebatu is one of my favourite’s place, thanks to Jonny and his family. They’re the sweetest hosts ever. I cannot recommend more this place: I did 2 of the tours they offer, and it was simply the best experience. Also the food is absolutely delicious. Thank you for everything, I’ll never forget my time here.

Verified reviewThe house is pleasantly located among the fields, with friendly hosts and sociable dogs.
As for the house itself, I’d mention the almost non-existent soundproofing and a very weak shower, but those are minor things I could easily live with. However, the two days I spent there ended up being very uncomfortable, and here’s why: During both days, I had to constantly beg the hosts for internet access. In reality, out of three rooms, only one gets any Wi-Fi signal, and even when I was moved there for one night (after multiple complaints), the internet still cut out completely by 10 PM. Suggestions like “we’ll turn on a mobile phone hotspot when you need it” or “you can stand near the room with signal and try to connect from there” don’t exactly feel like a comfortable solution. No, seriously — I think the number of times I had to complain that the Wi-Fi had stopped working again, or that it was connected but without internet, easily exceeded ten times in just two days. I need internet for work, for planning the next stages of my trip, and frankly for relaxing — watching a movie before bed or chatting with friends. Especially when there’s not much to do in the area after dark. And this constant, frustrating need to beg for a signal just wore me down and ruined my entire experience at this place. > upd after owner's reply: no, it's not a "one issue after 10pm", it's a constant problems with the WiFi network inside the house (many times during my staying) and also with the internet provider (at least 2 times for 2 days).
Hello Mr. Alex that I respect the most in the world, King of all kings, !! Looks like you really don't appreciate my efforts to improve internet connection so you can connect in your room, Looks like internet online, only that night was at 10 there was a little problem, so for you know sometimes the internet is not always 24 hours Sometimes there are obstacles, but it's okay I really appreciate your review, Thank you the king of all the kings 🙏🏾

Nothing, I loved it. Make sure you ask for the exact location as there’s no road. You have to drive through the rice paddy to get to the property.

Verified reviewSo welcoming, felt like part of the family, especially doing Was an cooking course on the open fire. Bike tour with Jonny was spectacular. Cultural villages tour with Tiki also a highlight. One of the best experiences I've had in many years of travelling. The rooms have great views over jungle or rice fields and My Rinjani, depending which side you are on.
Nothing I didn't like about this place. I miss it already. I found it by word of mouth from someone who liked it as much as me. I ate very well for a few days for very little.

Verified reviewJonny and his family were so warm and welcoming. They were great hosts. We wanted to experience what life is really like in Lombok and we got to experience that on its best here at Jonny’s Place! The food was made by the family and was very fresh and delicious. They also have to sweet social dogs, that like to keep you company. The bungalows were comfortable and cozy, with great view of either the rice fields or the river. We had a lovely stay here. We connected with the family, we were taken on a trip to explore the area and we played music together with Jonny! I would definitely recommend staying here!
You must be aware that the rooms are basic and the bathroom is not in the room. It’s just outside of the room, but not far. For me it’s part of the charm, but just to manage expectations.
