Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ItalyWe had a little problem with the toilet as in the morning we found a little bit of flood, but as soon as we asked everything was solved so always ask because they are really kind!
The room we had is into a Sasak traditional Village with the bathroom just outside the room. We had both dinner and breakfast and it was delicious, but the best part of our stay were the people that welcomed us as family. The day after we had a full-day tour of the rice fields, coconut and kopi process, waterfalls and monkey forest (where we could see black monkeys). It was just the 2 of us accompanied by Oni and Oni, two guys living in the village, and they were fantastic! They showed us around the fields, looking for the best spots and it seemed really an authentic experience. They were happy to tell us about the different stages of rice while locals were working and explained a lot also about the fruit trees we saw. The best thing above all was the warm atmosphere even if we stayed for just one night! As they say "welcome to your family"! They also helped us to organise the transfer to our next stop and they have different fixed prices for different destinations.

ItalyThe mosque nearby is quite loud, however it has nothing to do with the place itself which was in a isolated area in the the rice field

SpainTetebatu is the best place in the world, you really have a blast, and Jonny’s place lets you enjoy it even more. The staff is amazing, the food is great, and Jonny makes afternoons and evenings even better with his guitar. Mr. Ali, Mr. Oma, and Mr. Oni are also fantastic guides. I’d come back without a doubt – I recommend it 100%!

ItalyWe stayed for 2 nights and I wish we had stayed longer. Jonny and everyone there were super friendly and welcoming. The views of the rice fields were lovely to wake up to and chill by the sunset. We took the walking tour where our guide Ari (and Oni) took us around Tetebatu. Showed us how coffee, spices and coconut oil are made, as well as the beautiful rice terraces of Tetebatu (with little to no tourists around) and some amazing waterfalls. Also the food was amazing! (Try out the Olah-Olah) Everything was truly amazing, they really show you the true Tetebatu experience.

United KingdomIt didn’t bother us but it’s good to know there are a lot of noises at night (including the nearby mosques’ call to prayer in the early hours) - as expected when you’re staying in the middle of the fields with lots of wildlife around and in a Muslim community.
We had an amazing stay with Jonny and his family, who were all so welcoming and attentive from the get go! The room was clean and spacious with a terrace overlooking the rice fields and Mount Rinjani (though it was unfortunately too cloudy to see during our stay). The food was absolutely delicious (olah olah was to die for!) and very reasonably priced. We were short for time so could only stay one night in Tete Batu but Jonny made sure we could still do a day tour when we arrived late morning. The walking tour was incredible - we walked through the rice fields; saw the processes behind local coffee and coconut oil; visited 2 waterfalls; had lunch at a local restaurant; and visited the forest to see the grey and black monkeys! Nas and Oni, our guides, were fantastic and we spent the day laughing with them and learning so much about the local produce and culture. The evening was also a highlight - sitting with other guests to chat and listening to Johnny sing and play guitar! Thank you so much for making us feel like part of your family, we will definitely be back!

AustraliaOnly cold shower, but it wasn’t too bad either.
You are literally in the jungle. If you want an adventure this is your place. To enter/leave the place you have to walk through rice terraces. Simply beautiful. Also, the place is in Jonny’s house and you can share with his family. Which was very nice and cool. We learned a little about how they made coffee and spices, petted their dogs, cows and chickens.

SwitzerlandAfter 6 months of travelling around South East Asia, I can now tell that Tetebatu is one of my favourite’s place, thanks to Jonny and his family. They’re the sweetest hosts ever. I cannot recommend more this place: I did 2 of the tours they offer, and it was simply the best experience. Also the food is absolutely delicious. Thank you for everything, I’ll never forget my time here.

United StatesNothing, I loved it. Make sure you ask for the exact location as there’s no road. You have to drive through the rice paddy to get to the property.
Stunning views of mountains in the middle of rice paddies. Jonny and his family are warm and welcoming. The room is spacious and very comfortable. Couldn’t ask for a better experience

AustraliaNothing I didn't like about this place. I miss it already. I found it by word of mouth from someone who liked it as much as me. I ate very well for a few days for very little.
So welcoming, felt like part of the family, especially doing Was an cooking course on the open fire. Bike tour with Jonny was spectacular. Cultural villages tour with Tiki also a highlight. One of the best experiences I've had in many years of travelling. The rooms have great views over jungle or rice fields and My Rinjani, depending which side you are on.

NetherlandsYou must be aware that the rooms are basic and the bathroom is not in the room. It’s just outside of the room, but not far. For me it’s part of the charm, but just to manage expectations.
Jonny and his family were so warm and welcoming. They were great hosts. We wanted to experience what life is really like in Lombok and we got to experience that on its best here at Jonny’s Place! The food was made by the family and was very fresh and delicious. They also have to sweet social dogs, that like to keep you company. The bungalows were comfortable and cozy, with great view of either the rice fields or the river. We had a lovely stay here. We connected with the family, we were taken on a trip to explore the area and we played music together with Jonny! I would definitely recommend staying here!

This is the place I will dream about when I come back home. I was just so in love with my bamboo room, the atmosphere and the jungle vibes. Johnny’s place is just a bit off the road, tucked away in a green oasis. My room was very clean and had a balcony with river view, with just lush jungle greenery surrounding me. Below it there is a shower, but also the possibility to use the ‘jungle shower’ where you just find yourself showering (privately of course) in the midst of green. The food that is made by Johnny’s aunty is the best I’ve tasted on Lombok. Johnny and his family are very friendly people, they welcome you into their own little community and take the greatest care of you. Went on a day tour with Johnny and he showed us all of Tetebatu which was great also!

Such a warm welcome, lots of good conversations, and an amazing guided trip to bamboo craft, sarung making and the waterfalls with Adi and Nas. We ended our stay with a super tasty jackfruit curry cooking class and dinner with the whole family. We’re sorry to say goodbye and will miss the family and beautiful place.
