Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNo sheets on the bed- just a quilt not in a cover- lots of stains. 1 pillow each which we struggled to sleep on and our room backed on to the owners house so their cockerel woke us around 5 each morning and crowed for the next three hours. There were also rats outside our room.
Great location, really friendly staff (when you could find them) and good air conditioning. Great price point for the size room and a really really good hot shower. The room was also very spacious. Communal cooking facilities seemed to be available if you wanted these.

BrazilThe shower is inside a stone bathtub, not very stable to stand. Its really not necessary to have a bathtub as the bathroom is all closed without windows, not pretty or cozy at all.

GermanyThe staff was really friendly and very helpful. I just wanted to stay for 2 nights and spontaniously wanted to extend to 4 nights, which was no problem at all. The owner himself offered me a really nice daytrip to a waterfall, temples and rice terraces. He even showed me two spots which I did not find in any travel guide. It was a perfect place for solo travel, which I can really recommend:)

Room are good and pool view. Affordable budget and near to the Ubud Market. Staff are friendly. But be careful to to rent motorcycle, when we arrived I ask the bigger body staff if they have rental bike, he call someone and bring it in around 12pm. I put a petrol 20k, we use 2times only not more than 1.5hrs driving. And at afternoon we go to coffee shop in ubud market. After that we comeback at night safety. We did not make any accident, but in the next day when I woke up and give to the staff the key, after an hour they call me and the bike staff showing to me the damage on the bike and accusing me. I defend our side but he did not accept, until he call the owner. Long conversation, they want us to pay the damage with writing the cost to their receipt immediately without police report. My mistake I didn’t take a video for the bike before and after used. Alhamdullillah my girlfriend join and talk to them and stronger defend our side. Both side throwing a words, in the end we left ubud and safe. To all travelers please be advice to take a video before and after the bike for your safety….

New ZealandMaybe it’s too humid, sometimes a little bit smelly but it’s normal in Ubud, the humidity is too high so nothing you can do much. I won’t complaint about this because I understood is part of the weather.
The staff were so humble and lovely! The room has the basic stuff but to be honest you don’t need more because it’s very close to everything, restaurants, cafes, yoga place, markets, palace, etc…the street was apart from the noisy main road, many activities to do. The place was clean, the staff was cleaning the room every day, I would recommend the place 100%

United KingdomOur room was near a rooster which woke us up at 4:30am every day, gaps in the door meant if it was dark outside and you didn't have your curtains shut lots of bugs came in. Toiletries supplied were very basic. Poor drainage is the shower.
Clean and comfortable bed, we stayed in the superior room which was larger than the standard (we saw inside the standard rooms and they are very small). Also had a fridge and kettle which was a bonus. Friendly staff, did a laundry service for 18k per kg. Pool nice and clean. Enjoyed a floating breakfast for 50k each. Standard breakfast on your patio is 40k each - it's simple yet tasty. Great location and value for price you pay.

Netherlandsit wasn’t the cleanest place ever. you get what you pay for. if you want your room cleaned, don’t forget to give your key to the staff before you go. they don’t have a spare key. so the first day, they didn’t clean our room. don’t except to much. it’s simple and basic. but a lovely stay non the less!
the location is great. it’s just 10 minutes walk to the main streets in Ubud. this place is a bit hidden and it doesn’t feel like you are in the middle of a very busy city. you don’t hear the cars. the pool is nice.

AustraliaFirst room was very small, not clean, no sheet on the bed, toilet door didn't close, food in the cupboard, air conditioning didn't work.
They moved us to a new and bigger room after we had a few issues with the first one. Staff were very happy to assist and lovely. Location was great and room was exceptionally quiet even though just a quick walk to the main street. Very close to mini mart, atm and pharmacy.
