How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThis property listed in the web using 2names. Googlemap works well showed direction to Villa Dangka. Modern room with kettle, tea and some selection of coffee. No AC but mounted fan is provided.Bathroom is clean. Pool with natural hot spring was such a bless after sunrise trekking to Batur volcano. The terrace is spacious with 3 big chairs, but can't sit too long coz of too many flies.
Food price in resto is expensive (for such quality). 40k for fried noodle but they also sold "menu of today" like fried rice only 20k. The restaurant (also used as receptionist of villa) provided fishy info about trekking package. She said 1.2mio/person due to safety insurance from local community. She instroduced me to pak Mangku (Mowgli travel) who gave us 400k for trekking+ simple breakfast (bread, banana, boiled egg) on the top of volcano. It seems there are various route to the top. I didn't see the guide pay ticket entrace fee. So, not so sure if 400k is "normal price". Villa Dangka only gave fried rice/noodle/pancake for breakfast (no tea /coffee). Couldn't take a rest well coz the neighbour house arrange wedding event and the music /karaoke so loud til 2AM!!!

Verified reviewThe host and personal are really friendly and will help you out with what ever you might need. E.g. the location is a bit far away from restaurants, so the host will help you and drive you to a restaurant nearby. The place has a great view of the mountains and the lake. There is even two hot spas that will be ready for whenever you want. The place has great value for money!
Be aware that there is many flies because of the many vegetable farms nearby. Also, at the point of our visit, there were details in the room that could be better, i.a. unconnected sink and towel hangers in the bathroom.

Verified reviewFantastic view, lovely hot tubs. The garden is beautiful
The bathroom was not nice. The flush of the toilet did not work, the sink did not work. The light was flickered slightly, when turned off at night.

Verified reviewGood if you’re going to hike Mt Batur, about 10 min drive from the hotel! Great and helpful staff, they even helped drive us to Amed which was 1.5 hours away. The view from the hotel was beautiful seeing the lake and mountains. There was also a local warung that you could order food from which was delicious (and cheap)!
The bathroom was lacking in some aspects. There was no sink and the shower was right next to the toilet so when taking a shower the whole floor got wet and dirty. It was therefore difficult brushing teeth etc. It was also not properly cleaned. The room didn’t have an ac nor a fan so it was a bit warm at night but manageable. The area was not that great and you will need a moped to get around. A bit noisy at night, one night someone had a party close to the hotel and there are roosters that are close too.

Verified reviewNice pool with the volcanic hot water from the springs, new appartments - was still under construction, friendly and helpful staff,
we booked another place but we had to change because other people did not leave on time which looks like they have some organizational issues, there was no lakeview as we booked originally and it was farer away from the center, breakfast was ok but very small portions and they didn't understand that vegetarians don't want to eat sausages as well

Verified reviewI want to preface the rest of this review by saying that Kadek and his family were wonderful. So kind and helpful, they didn’t have a laundry service but he helped me by taking it to a local place; breakfast and coffee were nice and the staff were always there to help if I needed something. The accommodation itself it’s spacious and comfortable. The hot springs pool is lovely in the early morning and evenings, amazing views as well.
I wouldn’t recommend this place if you are a solo female traveller if Mowgli is still working for them. I believe he is not part of the family/hotel staff but organises the tours for them so was around a lot. The first night I spent here, no one else checked in, and this man (Mowgli) took full advantage of this and invited himself in to the hot springs with me. This would have been fine (a bit strange but fine) if he had kept his distance, but he was incredibly inappropriate and made me feel so uncomfortable, trying to touch my feet/head/commenting on how I look. I tried to move away every time to a different corner and he persisted so after a short while I got out and went to my room. The next day I asked him to help me find an activity to do, and instead of just helping with pricing or arranging this over whatsapp, he once again invited himself into my space and kept trying to sit on the arm of my chair and hug me/touch my head and face. He went as far as to grab my arm and call me sexy. At this point I told him I don’t want to be touched, and he laughed and said sorry. If I had not been completely by myself I would have stood up for myself straight away, but being alone in an unfamiliar place with an older man who was making me feel unsafe was really quite scary. Luckily a couple from France checked in later that day and after I explained what had happened they stuck by my side. If you use a different company to book your tours or are travelling as a pair or group then I can’t imagine this would be an issue, but it definitely ruined my stay and I left a day early so thought it was important to mention for any solo ladies

Verified reviewWe had a very good stay in Jepun Bali Lake View! The view from the hotel is super nice and the rooms are clean. There is no air conditioner but it is not a problem as the room was not hot at all. Kadek and Mowgli were really helpful and good hosts. The hot spring is pleasant in the chill evenings. Mowgli got us a rental motorbike and he organizes hikes to Mt Batur. Kadek's fater gave us a car ride to our next destination Tulamben. Really nice guy him as well! High recomendation for this place :)

Verified reviewWe loved our stay here! It was the perfect base to do the mount Batur hike which was organised once we arrived through the owner so was super easy and hassle free. You’re really near the start of the hike so we got picked up at 3.30 and still made it to the top in time. On the property itself the hot springs were definitely the highlight!
The bathroom was a little outdated and there was no sink. But this wasn’t a massive issue as it was only a 2 night stay! I would still recommend this place regardless
