Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThe rooms are very dated and tired, really need a renovation but at the price they are charging it's still good value for money. If I stay again I would definitely try and get a ground floor room as I found my balcony on the first floor too hot and sunny to use until late afternoon.
I had to find somewhere new to stay and literally booked a couple of hours before I arrived. It probably would not be my first choice ordinarily but I am grateful that Japun is where I landed. The staff are terrific here, really very nice and friendly. Breakfast is a la carte with drinks and fruit in a buffet. Had two Indonesian meals in the restaurant which were great. Loved the beer fridge in reception, very handy! I found that a lot of the guests were long term repeat customers staying for several weeks every year and they were nice and friendly too. The grounds of this hotel are superb, the gentleman who looks after them is a credit to the hotel. Very quiet being set back from the main road. Great location. Great price.

AustraliaRooms are a bit dated. Took a long time for hot water to get to my room. Toilet ran all night but the air con drowned out the noise.
Very friendly staff in a great central location in Kuta. Rooms are a bit dated but clean and comfortable. Great pool and pool area. Breakfast was great and included with my booking.

New ZealandThe stairs were a bit much for me with a bad knee. I didn't realise there would be so many. Next time I would request a ground floor room. I thought we were booking a room like the one in the promo photo with the lovely ceiling but alas no. No sheet provided for the bed just a duvet which I find disappointing in a hot country. I don't need a duvet, just a sheet.
The room was basic but comfortable, I liked the private balcony and the air con worked well. The pool was just lovely and the garden and grounds very well kept. I had the best breakfasts here, good standard. A little oasis nice and quiet back of the busy street. Towels provided for the pool was good too. I recommend this hotel.

AustraliaNo in room kettle or cups for tea/coffee. Some windows need extra cover for sunlight entering too early for holiday makers. Bed ok but not great - falling to one side. No shelves to put your toiletries in bathroom - so much space not capitalized. No hot water at basin for men's shaving and ladies make up etc. TV Channels not good.
Pool, Location, Room - save for some minor adjustments we'd like to see. General ambience and distance from road noise great. Service great and staff exceptionally friendly and efficient. Excellent breakfast. Pool area and sheltered table and chairs area very enjoyable.

GreeceThe wooden room has a naphthaline smell probably to keep away the insects, which makes everything smell like it. The insects could still visit it though everywhere, not easy to avoid them.
The hotel combines all in one, the room to stay, swimming pool, and all day bar restaurant to have your breakfast/lunch/dinner. The wooden room is something nice and unique, beautiful. The normal room is something simple. Friendly staff and good location!

Hong KongDuring the latter part of my stay, I was relocated to a Standard room due to limited availability. Unfortunately, the experience did not match the comfort of my earlier accommodation. The room layout felt rather disjointed, as if the furniture had been hastily arranged without thoughtful spatial planning. The space felt cramped, and the room’s design made it difficult to utilize even the available area effectively. The bathroom lacked functional amenities—a proper holder for toiletries was missing, making everyday use inconvenient. In addition, the WiFi connection in the Standard room was noticeably sluggish. While I appreciate the hotel’s efforts to accommodate me, this part of my stay fell short of expectations. It’s worth considering an upgrade if room comfort and practical design are priorities for you.
I stayed in a deluxe room that exuded cleanliness and comfort, making it effortlessly easy to unwind. The tranquil atmosphere, complemented by lush greenery throughout the property, reminded the warmth and serenity of home. What truly elevated the experience was the staff’s impeccable hospitality. The location couldn’t be more ideal: nestled within walking distance of delightful eateries, soothing spas, and other local gems, making exploration both convenient and enjoyable. I left with a sense of contentment and a wish to return.

United StatesJepun Hotel is a cozy, no-fuss oasis tucked in a quiet corner of Bali that offers incredible value and authentic charm. The lush garden setting, traditional Balinese architecture, and peaceful atmosphere made it feel like a true home away from home. The rooms are clean, spacious, and thoughtfully laid out—many with balconies overlooking the pool or garden. The staff are warm, welcoming, and always ready with a smile or a local tip to enhance your stay. It’s the perfect base if you're exploring on a budget but still want comfort, character, and easy access to Bali’s cultural highlights. A relaxing and down-to-earth stay that captures the spirit of Bali beautifully.

AustraliaThe water pressure in our room (ground floor junior suite) was pretty average, and our tv was old and channels fuzzy. However, not a huge drama for us - that’s really all I could fault. Great hotel and amazing staff.
Tucked away down a laneway, about 200m from the main Kuta strip, so it was very quiet and no traffic noise. Gardens and hotel kept very clean. Beautiful gardens, very Bali style that I like.
