How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

restaurants not in neighbourhood
Hi, Anja😊 Thanks so much for your staying and review. Yes, as You know there is no resto in my property. The nearest restaurant is Truntum Gasblock Borobudur, about 800 meters away. But In order to reduce the inconvenience of guests, I ever inform you about it and ever shared the resto list around here When Your booking was done. So You could go to the resto or ordered delivery food via Grab or Go jek apps. If You had not been able to order the delivery food by yourself via apps, I would have been ready to respond to help You as quickly as possible Although We do not have a concierge service team like a resort, but We strive to provide attentive and private service to a small number of guests(-only 5 rooms in total). Bobby! The beds bro! A little nicer mattresses and a second pillow - were Westerners, we are soft! Charge everyone 10$ a night more and upgrade that and it would be a perfect stay.

Verified reviewBeautiful environment. The owner put a lot of effort building this place. The pool was refreshing and very clean. The breakfast was fine (you can choose between eggs or omelette and they give you fruit, coffee or tea). The owner is super friendly and can help you organize your days around Borobudur. Only 10 mins away from the temple by car.
the bed wasn't great and the pillow smelled bad. Also, there wasn't much privacy as there are windows everywhere and people could see through.
Dear Charles from Italy living in Singapore. Thanks for your staying at double room for 2nights and advice about the pillow and mattress 1. Pillow cover I'm sorry related pillow cover smell. We wash the pillow's inner things regulary thus replace all pillows with new ones periodicall and use dedicated protectors, and change the pillow covers daily. It is clear that we have provided a new, washed cover. However, We will review and improve the pillow cover to see if there were any problems during the drying process due to the current weather with frequent rain despite it being the dry season. If you had requested a pillow cover change during your 2nights stay, we would have gladly exchanged it for a new one after confirmation. ***Upon inspection, it was confirmed that the pillows in your room had been recently replaced one and new covers were provided. We wash our daily laundry by ourselves, except for special laundry. So We can wash more often for the same cost. That is why we can provide clean bedding sets. 2. mattress Considering the unit price of the double room(=standard room), replacing the mattress with a high-quality one takes more time. Because of, like other countries around the world, the prices of some products have increased significantly in Indonesia since Covid 19. Most hotels in Indonesia have also raised their accommodation prices. Considering the financial situation of travelers, I am selling double rooms at almost the same price as before Covid 19. I already updated new photos about One bed room with new bedding set😉 *In case of Double room and Deluxe, all of bedding set was change to new bedding set last year *In case of Deluxe with garden view, all bedding set will be replaced sequentially in the future. Verified reviewLoved our stay here - so much better than a generic hotel! So tastefully decorated from the entrance door and koi fishpond through the beautifully designed grounds that looked like a little fairytale with the pool, fairy lights and traditional Java rooms to our beautiful room (white deluxe one with a lovely colourful sofa outside) with a comfy bed, barefoot chic bathroom, good a/c, fridge if you need it, easy wifi. The owner Bobby was great from start to finish, excellent comms and info upfront, extremely helpful with our Borobadur tickets, very welcoming and always available to help. Go on the village tour with him - it’s a fascinating window into the natural abundance of the countryside and the lives of the super friendly people who live there. My mini morning walk around the corner to see the sunrise between two volcanos and get a smile and a selamat pagi from all the villagers coming past was magical too. Loved it all. Thanks Bobby!

Verified reviewJanur is a place with attention to detail. We were there for three days and enjoyed very much our stay. The staff doesn't speak english but they find their way to communicate with you. The room is comfortable and the location convenient - near Borobudur, restaurants and activities using grab. Be aware that grab doesn't work always - from our experience, from 20h it's difficult to get one available driver so the best is to get a contact of a private driver (you can do that with your first grab driver - they normally all work independently). Bobby is very responsive and kind!
We stayed in the bungalow closer to the entrance and it's very noisy. Until 20h or 21h and from 6am you can listen to cars and motorbikes because the bungalows are made in wood and the sound just goes into your room. The call for muslim's prayer is also very strong but I would say that's part of the cultural experience! If you can, choose a bungalow near the pool instead.
Dear Noormahomed😊 Thanks so much for your staying. Yes, You stayed at Deluxe closed to the enterance for honeymoon. I'm sorry but unless it is a large resort with a large land, most of the accommodations in Borobudur are located next to the road like ours and are not free from the noise of daily life. And according to local law, it is illegal to change the sound of motorcycle exhaust to a custom in big cities like Yogyakarta. However, It is still not illegal in Borobudur. So motorcycle users changing the sound of the exhaust to a loud sound similar to Harley Davidson instead of the soft mechanical sound that is the default and has not been subject to any legal action in Borobudur. In this situation, the service I can provide to Deluxe room guests is that, unlike other large rooms(-Deluxe with garden view or One bed room), I am maintaining the same price for Deluxe as before Covid 19. The walls of the bungalows are quite thin, and the local mosques do the call to prayer at 4 am. This does add to the cultural immersion aspect, but it was hard to get a full night's sleep.

Verified reviewLoved the place! We felt spoilt and pampered as if we were on honeymoon 🙂 Rooms are great, staff is very friendly and helpful. Location is a bit outside of Borobudur, so you will need transport wherever you go (we hired motor bikes).
Considering we were pretty much out in the sticks it was remarkably noisy with 3 muezin singing over the top of each other and also loud music playing late at night / early morning - although that might have had to do with the independence day celebrations which were going on.
