Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Didi makes you feel more than welcome as soon as you step into his Homestay. He has the time to sit down and chat with you and share experiences which I really enjoyed. The room itself is huge, spotless clean with a big bathroom with hot water and pressure! A dream!

GermanyThe mattress was quite hard, everything else was perfect.
Lovely Homestay! The owner and his family are super friendly, welcoming and nice. The room was simple but clean and nice! They also provide good and cheap food and cooked for me even I arrived late! The Homestay is not on the main road, so I think more quiet than the other homestays. Perfect start to explore rinjani and surroundings. Would come back!

TurkeyMy partner and I stayed at Iza Homestay before and after our hike in Senaru. Didi and his wife were very kind and attentive hosts. Even though we booked our hike earlier with another company, Didi informed us about what to expect and how to prepare for it. We learned that he also organizes hikes to Rinjani. So, if you’re interested we’d recommend talking to him. If you’re not hiking at the mountain, you can also consider his Panorama tour in the region, which takes around 3.5-4 hours. My partner and I also enjoyed the food there (we had lunch and dinner a few times in addition to the breakfast). One reminder, if you’re a light sleeper I’d recommend using ear plugs as the morning prayers and roosters might wake you up in the morning. For us this was alright. Overall, very kind people. We felt comfortable and welcomed!

United KingdomDidi and his wife were brilliant hosts. Didi speaks good English and was able to give lots of advice and recommendations for things to do in the area. They are excellent cooks and I enjoyed all of the meals I had for breakfast and in the evenings. On one occasion I wanted to get up early for a hike, and they very kindly made breakfast for me at 6 AM. At the end of my stay Didi arranged my boat trip back to Bali and ensured I got good value for money. I felt that they went above and beyond to ensure I had a good stay.

Didi, Siti and their children are such a lovely welcoming family and we loved our stay following hiking Mt Rinjani. We also loved playing Uno! Iza homestay is new and everything is comfortable and clean, with lots of personal touches. Terima kasih :-)

Great place to stay if you are doing the Rinjani hike. The room and the bathroom was really clean, and you can see that there was thougth put into designing the room. No AC, but there was a fan which was enough. The shower was AMAZING. One of the best i had while in Indo, hot water and great water pressure. The accomodation is very new, and the owner Didi and his family were super friendly and helpful. I had long talks with Didi about his life and basically everything. They also have a restaursnt where they offer good food for reasonable prices. I highly recommend staying here.

United KingdomIncredible! Didi & his wife have newly opened this home stay and it is excellent. So much thought has gone into every aspect. The rooms are modern and super clean, with the nicest, hottest showers I’ve had in months. The family are just absolutely lovely, great food and great chatting to them. Didi is very knowledgeable about the area and trekking so I would recommend contacting him to book a trek with a guide directly rather than going through the agencies! Cannot recommend this property enough. Good luck!!

GermanyHighly recommended! We were one of the first guests at Iza Homestay. We felt very comfortable there the entire time! The host grew up in Senaru and was/is a Rinjani guide himself. He is very knowledgeable and gave us tips on what to do in the area besides the trekking tour to Rinjani. He speaks very good English and showed us the two waterfalls and even organized a scooter for us. He and his family were very friendly! We were also able to try typical Lombok dishes! You can also eat inexpensively and deliciously at the homestay! Breakfast was included, and we will miss the delicious sandwich very much! The room was exceptionally clean and there was even a hot shower! Everything was in very good condition! The location was also central. You can walk to the waterfalls.

Our stay with Didi and his family was exceptional. It is by far the best place we have stayed in Indonesia. The room and bathroom are spacious, modern and very clean. Whilst there is no aircon, the fan is plenty and kept us cool! In terms of activities Didi was able to sort everything for us, from a scooter, to transport to the port, and also a guided walk through Senaru led by Didi himself which is a standout from whole Indonesia trip - can’t recommend it enough. The food is also great, we ate there for breakfast, lunch and dinner for the whole stay and it did not disappoint! We really hope to come back one day.
