We had a wonderful and peaceful stay at this charming, small-scale hotel. It’s run by the sweetest family – a man, his wife, and their adorable little son. They were incredibly welcoming, helpful, and genuinely kind. The rooms were beautiful and well-maintained, and the pool had a stunning view that made it the perfect place to relax. One big plus was that you could rent scooters directly from them, which was super convenient. The owner also offered a snorkeling trip at a fair price, including photos. It turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip – we saw manta rays and turtles, which was just amazing! In short, a hidden gem – highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful, personal, and authentic experience!

The rooms and view are beautiful, it's a very peaceful place to stay and the beds were super comfy. Beautiful place around 10 mins scooter drive to mushroom bay or the main strip we had messaged in advance to ask if there were breakfast and lunch options because the accommodation is a 10 minute scooter ride from other food options.we were told there was only to arrive and say there isn't. we were really hoping that this was because there was a local ceremony for two days, which we obviously respected but even after this no breakfast option was offered. There was also no water refill point ( which is true for all of nusa lembongan), so we had to buy a LOT of bottled water which adds to the plastic problem in Indonesia.

Great place to stay, awesome views, Joe and his family are very attentive and easy to deal with, restaurant/laundry service/scooter rentals on site... we stayed for a month and loved every minute. We look forward to going back there on our next trip. We highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable and clean place to stay!

Absolutely beautiful! Joe and Wayan were so welcoming and helped us with booking tours and had scooters for hire, as well as just being beautiful people to have a chat with. The bungalows were very clean and beds very comfortable. We enjoyed being out of the main village of Jungutbatu and being able to literally retreat to the peace and quiet of our oasis.

The location is about a 5 min drive from the Main Street with restaurants and the beach. However, you can rent mopeds at the property.

It’s a beautiful property that is calm and relaxing with a nice pool. The hotel is run by a friendly and caring family. They were very helpful when it came to organizing trips and ferry tickets.

Beautiful family run business. Super clean, lovely view from the pool. Nice crisp, clean linen on beds. We chose this place for the quietness away from the hustle and bustle of everything, but then it's only a 10 min ride by bike into the main part of NL. Highly recommend.

My husband and I very much enjoyed our stay at Island Retreat Cottage. Joe and his wife were very friendly and helpful hosts. The location was peaceful and quiet as it is up the hill behind the beach. The bungalows are well appointed and clean with very comfortable beds. The infinity pool is a good size and perfectly positioned so you get to see a lovely view of the ocean and the islands. We rented a scooter from Joe so we could explore Nusa Lembongan and Cheningan.

Bathroom has no ventilation or natural light. Nowhere to keep toiletries in the bathroom. Only soap provided in shower - no hand soap at the sink. Servicing of rooms does not take place everyday. Breakfast is a bit limited and small. These are not major complaints and would not be enough to warrant not staying here - rather room for improvement

Island Retreat is located away from the main hustle of the main street of the town yet close enough to everything by scooter. Lovely view from the pool area overlooking Cenigan Island and so quiet and peaceful. The rooms are cute little traditional style wooden huts, simply but tastefully decorated with good linen, pillows and towels. Aircon works welland is quiet. It is a family run hotel so Joe and his wife do everything - lovely people and super helpful.

The location was great for peace of mind, there are a number of dogs that “guard” the road at night.

Amazing sunrise and sunsets! Fantastic service with a delicious breakfast, hot water 24 hours/day, clean and comfortable bed, and pool with a great view by sunlight and moonlight. The couple that owns the property will make you feel welcome and help you with bookings for everything.

The location was a bit remote but this wasnt a issue because you can rent a motorbike at the hotel.

The owner Joe was really nice! He helped us book a snorkeling tour. The rooms are also very nice and new. They also have a infinity pool with a view on Nusa Penida. The breakfast which was made by his wife was also very good.
