Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ChileShower could’ve had better pressure but it was fine.
A great place to stay. Clean and comfortable room, well located, and the gardens are really nice to chill.

United KingdomNothing, good location too
This is such a friendly Homestay run by Suzanne (Dutch but fluent English) who has been here for 20 years. She has a great team of locals who support her and so it feels like a family place. We did the cookery course with Fittry and her sister Noor (probably not the right spelling!) and we can’t recommend it enough. We had three +hours learning about Indonesian cookery, spice blending and produce and by the end we had cooked a full Indonesian meal which was probably one of the tastiest meals I’ve ever made!! Suzanne can arrange shuttles and scooters so wait until you get there to book!

United KingdomWe forgot there wouldn't be air-conditioning and did have two sticky nights sleep.
Breakfast was nice, the garden is lovely. Hosts were helpful in sorting us a bike rental and booking us a shuttle bus to Kuta on check-out for good prices. Only stayed 2 nights..

ItalyThe bathroom is stuck with the one from the rooms nexdoor so you dont have much privacy. Also no aircon in the room I choose and the fan was pretty noisy, I struggled to sleep.
Staff was really nice, beautiful garden and nice common areas. Breakfast was good too, free coffee, omelette and fresh juice.

Germany- The family working at the homestay is amazing: super happy, friendly, kind, and helpful. They made this stay so fantastic - You can talk to the staff about tours, trips, transport and all that and they always find a solution - The layout is really cool. You have the large yard with the cabins facing the garden and the showers in the back. Pricacy is definitely given and the garden is peaceful and beautiful - The owner's cat is around and very cuddly - Quiet location but close to the beach and restaurants - Rooms are in good condition and the outside showers are really cool - Food at the homestay is really good and rhe cooking class is a lot of fun - The common area invites for socializing - I originally just booked 2 nights and extended twice because I loved it so much - It is very close to nature so be prepared to have a handful of ants in your room. I personally liked the feeling if being close to nature.

CanadaDown a narrow roadway. I’m not good on a bike so it was challenging to drive. That’s my own issue tho ahaha
The staff were phenomenal and the property was clean and in a safe secluded location close to restaurants and stores. We did the cooking class and absolutely LOVED it. The two women leading it were so kind, helpful and was a highlight of our trip. Thank you!!

United KingdomOnly ants coming around the refreshment tray now and again. Also litter on and around the beaches.
I have stayed a couple of times before and still one of the best places to stay in Senggigi. Friendly welcoming owner and staff. Even collected me from Senggigi Harbour, which was much appreciated. The room is well equiped with a kettle, cups and glasses etc. Lots of nice touches with shelving and interesting ornamanets. The garden is lovely, full of plants and it is extremely relaxing looking onto it and up at the hills beyond. It is very close to a very good snorkelling spot. There are also lots of nice walks you do up into the mountains, with fantastic views down to the sea.

EstoniaA great Homestay where the staff immediately made you feel like you’re seeing your distant family somewhere. It’s a bit tricky to find at first since it’s behind a bigger building but once there, it’s very chill and relaxed. I really needed to sleep and slept well there! Baong, Teddy and Fitra were superhelpful. Baong even helped organize transport to Gili (75k transfer plus boat) which was even cheaper than Gojek plus local ticket. If I’m ever there, I’ll drop by again.

CanadaNo AC, making the rooms extremely hot. Leaving the door open helps to circulate the air but brings in all the bugs. That’s really my only complaint. Otherwise amazing place :)
Great little spot in Sengiggi. The property is only accessible by motor bike, so be prepared for a walk with your bags - but it’s quite manageable :) Quiet and lovely stay. The rooms are comfortable and the staff are very accommodating and friendly.

NetherlandsI only have good things to say about Indah Homestay! I was welcomed very warmly by the owner, Suzanne, who made me feel at home instantly and gave me lots of good tips for to-do’s and to-see’s in the area. The staff is super friendly, the room comfortably equipped with everything you need and the big garden is also a big plus. I also did the cooking class with Fitri and would 10/10 recommend. Before you know it, this place feels like home and you’re staying for a full week (like I did)!
