Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyThis is not a 5 star hotel so if you are picky yeah maybe you wont like it very much, but for us it was perfect 🤩. The room was super clean and smelled good its small but just enough for us . Toilet is clean and the bed is super confortable. Its very near the port like 7 minutes from gili trawangan port , everything is near by the beach restaurant and the beach clubs and stores . You can rent a electric scooter or a bicycle 🚲, but for us we didn’t need too and the all island is like 4 kilometers you can walk them if you want. To swim its better to walk a bit after the port from the hostel and you will find a place to swim for free . Overall we liked it and this hostel is totally worth it . I need to mention that the toilet is not super new there is some rust but for me i dont mind , and the breakfast they only serve omelette fruits 🍍🍌🍉 and waffles 🧇 omelette, so not much variety but its ok. They do have yoga class if you are interested and in the evening they offer family dinner but we did not try it. There is a water machine in the common area also

Great emplacement. Rooms are calme and the beds are good. There is a good atmosphere in the common area, thanks to Casper and all the volunteers.

United KingdomOur floor + bathroom was quite dirty, but other than that we loved our stay
Super friendly staff, lovely free daily yoga and a perfect location (we could walk everywhere we needed too and it’s only 5 mins from the port)

BrazilVery nice hostel in Gili T! The breakfast was amazing! All you can eat omelette, waffles and fruit! They had yoga which I unfortunately didn't join during my stay but everyone was saying how good it was! Also went on the snorkeling trip with them which was really nice to see some corals and turtles! I stayed on a single bed in the room which still had curtains which is a great touch!

NetherlandsGood location and nice pool and chill area in the shade. But quite disappointing as a backpacker hostel. Volunteers were unwelcoming and arrogant. Our room door didn’t lock and the staff did not nothing to fix it. The bathroom is open and has direct sunlight coming in, so i had to wear a hat and sunglasses to go to the bathroom :’) Also we didn’t get towels upon arriving and when they did, they smelled bad… Wouldn’t stay again unfortunately.

AustraliaThe first room I stayed in smelled like mildew. There was not much space in the rooms to move around. The washrooms are very small including the showers. They often ran out of toilet paper and took a while to replace. The pool was a bit dirty too
The second room I stayed in was bigger and did not have a smell. It is close to the ferry port which was convenient. Breakfast was okay I guess

CanadaThere was some downfalls in which the AC in my room worked correctly at the beginning of my stay for about 2 days. Although, it stopped working afterward. The day I arrived, my toilet was blocked and needed staff to fix.
Cute hostel with friendly staff. I enjoyed having breakfast included in my stay- even if it was just a sweet meal. The hostel hosts regular daily events/excursions that can be beneficial on a rainy day or if wanting to meet people. Overall, good energy and vibes. I would recommend!

TurkeyWe had a great stay at this hostel. The room was clean and comfortable but a little bit small, and the staff were very welcoming. The pool area was well-maintained and offered a relaxing atmosphere. Overall, a pleasant experience that I’d recommend to others.

United KingdomThe breakfast was great however it needed a savory option. Eating sweet waffles/pancakes for breakfast every day for three days was way too much for us. The pool needs some beanbags or loungers, the deckchairs aren't comfy to chill in by a pool so we didn't use it much and I didn't see many others using it either. It is quite expensive when you consider its a hostel (£55 a night for a private room and £20 for a hostel room), but I think Gili T hostels are all becoming quite expensive now.
We had one private room and one hostel bed in a female dorm and have zero complaints about either. The beds were comfy and the rooms/bathrooms were lovely and clean. There is a whatsapp group for the guests where activities are posted. While they do organise snorkel trips and the staff take people out at night, there isn't a constant feeling that you need to interact and party during the day which we loved - it meant we could relax in the day and socialise in the evenings if we wanted. The staff also make sure everyone is out by 10.30pm so if you did want to stay in, you get quiet. Happy hour here is amazing (2 cocktails for 100k), Elvis' Margaritas were just perfect and a welcome change from weeks of bintangs and spirit mixers. Close to everything and we would stay here again.

United KingdomThe rooms are dark/damp, no side light and the bathrooms weren’t great but similar standard to a lot of Indonesia.
The included breakfast and social activities such as yoga on the rooftop, ping pong and happy hour were great. The staff are very friendly which made us feel welcomed!

United KingdomNot the cheapest but worth it in my opinion. Would have liked the aircon to be in the centre of the room, it was by a bed so that when their curtain was closed, it wasn't as effective. But still worked enough. Wifi went in an out.
Close to the main strip and shop round the corner. Staff were brilliant, so friendly and helpful. Happy hour was a great deal and the cocktails were amazing. Lots of activities both in the day and at night, so perfect for solo travellers, even quieter ones like me. Small dorms with three beds which was nice, but plenty of places to socialise and chill. Not too loud because the socialising mainly happened on the rooftop, so you could get an early night if you needed to. Wish I could have stayed longer.

CanadaJust like all the other reviews, I extended my stay here 3x lol I was supposed to stay for 3 days and ended up staying for 12! All the staff, including reception, bar tenders, volunteers/ reps, janitors are all AMAZING. The vibe is like a big family. It’s perfectly social but not intense party hostel energy. Cocktails are great too! The mixed dorms are ok, the female dorms are much nicer. I have recommended this to so many people and will continue too!! I will be back 🫶🏽

United KingdomThe floors in the room were quite dirty so we had to keep shoes on while inside.
We stayed in one of the private rooms, which was spacious and right at the front of the property so really convenient. The location was great and close to the main road. Breakfast was nice and the really liked the rooftop terrace. We didn’t take part in any of the hostel-organised activities but there looked like there was a good selection every day.

GermanySeveral times we were without electricity and WiFi which wasn’t so bad, because there are many other places with generators where you could go. But I think that’s something Tipsea Turtle should invest in in the future.
Simple, but nice breakfast with pancakes, fruit and tea or coffee. Good location for me. A lot of common activities and a very active WhatsApp group. We went snorkeling with 10-12 people in total. 😁 Our doublebed room was very clean.
