I/ the most beautiful hotel in Sembalun with amazing views

The food generally could be improved. It took ages. Breakfast had zero western options on the buffet despite it being a western priced hotel. In addition it is in front of all the strawberry fields… but there were no strawberry pancakes or strawberry jam with toast :(

    Great location

I already reviewed this property in detail. Suffice to say it was a similar experience both times.

Beautiful location with amazing views over the valley below. Receptionist was very helpful and spoke excellent English. She helped us to get food from a local fast food restaurant which was necessary because we arrived after the restaurant closed.

The main issue was that there was a karaoke party in the hotel playing incredibly loud music until 10pm and staff did nothing to stop it. It is a small hotel in a quiet mountain town, not a club in Ibiza. Many people visit this area to go hiking and enjoy nature and do not want to be forced to listen to loud music and awful singing for hours in the evening. Additionally, the call to prayer in this area is like nothing I've experienced before. Much, much more frequent than the 5 times a day. No exaggeration to say that we were hearing it more often than not. Started at 4am and finished sometime aroind 9-10pm. Was difficult to tell with all the karaoke... The hotel restaurant was poorly managed. Lots of waiters wandering around with plates of food, not knowing where to take it. We ordered a plate of chips and it arrived cold, I assume that's because it was being carried around the restaurant for 10 minutes before the waiter figured out who they were for. They need to implement a table numbering system. There were two staff working the bar but neither of them spoke English or seemed very interested in their work, they spent most of their time looking at their phones. Breakfast buffet was OK. We had to leave at 6am for a hike and they very kindly offered to prepare a packed breakfast for us in advance but then I guess they forgot because there was no breakfast a no one around at 6am, we had to ask our driver who happened to be there to ask about it. Breakfast finally arrived at 6:20am. It was good though. The shower in our bathroom had lots of hair in the plug hole. Also, it gets cold at night so they should provide extra blankets in the room as standard, we had to ask. There was also only one towel in the room when we arrived. It's a shame because the hotel is in a beautiful location and has everything it needs to be a great place to stay. However, there is a general lack of attention to detail and a care-free attitude from most of the staff.

We loved the location; the room was large and luxurious. There are all the mod cons available, ie: infinity pool, stunning views, and lots of places to enjoy; it was literally like a mirage. We had an enjoyable stay.

There was a broken water pump situated behind our room which made a noise throughout the night, we informed the reception at check out and they said they'd fix it.

The views and accommodations are probably the best in the area. The kids loved the swings and pool. We were lucky to see the black monkeys playing on the patio.

The battle of the mosques starts about 4:30am. Unfortunately the call the prayer and subsequent music and sermons didn’t end until about mid-day on Friday, our first of two mornings here. Ear plugs in the room would have been a blessing. The buffet breakfast is served cold as there is no heat under the chafing dishes. The food could be much better; potatoes served raw, everything was too spicy for the kids and sauces seem to be straight from the convenience store instead of freshly prepared. The staff disappeared after breakfast until about 2-3pm so it wasn’t possible to order anything from either of the two bars while hanging out at the pool. When I asked someone if there was anyone to help the me or the seven other people lining up they said no and turned away. Then there was a mad rush to order as more people arrived and checked in. The lights at night are very bright and controlled by a timer so you can’t turn the porch light off. It makes the room very bright and ruins the views of the stars one wants when being in this rather remote mountain location.

What an incredible place and experience !!! Our holiday in Lombok did not disappoint. We found the HK staff very proffesional, funny, always to help, friendly and great. The breakfast was good. Our only regret-not staying longer. The property has the magnificent views and weather quite cool in the morning and night.. We look forward to returning again. It was Fun !

The property HAS THE BEST VIEWS IN SEMBALUN. No it does not have Rinjani views, but you wake up to the vista of Sembalun valley, both sunrise and sunset which was awesome. Staff was polite and accommodating. Food was ok, but order early as it takes quite some time to arrive. You can also walk down the hill 10-15mins to other restaurants and convenience stores. Beds were ok. Also not a problem to us, but there's constant blast from the mosques all around, especially during the 5 prayers. Light sleepers might find it a problem. The dipping pool was awesome. Cold, but the views from the pool is magnificent.

The hotel was not yet fully finished. Construction was still ongoing and i guess they were still figuring out what works and what doesn't. It feels like it's staffed with family members, hence the delay in things. Also this property is not for people who has knee/back issues as you have to go up the stairs to/from the rooms.
