The room is very humid, it smells rather bad in it, you have to ventilate with the windows. No aeration in the bathroom, the mosquito net is very dirty.

Very nice staff, good restaurant with a view on the mountainsw nice breakfast. They can arrange activities and transport for a good price.

It was rainy season so everything was damp (not the hotels fault) but maybe a fan would be a good addition to the room. Road noise is easily blocked out with the earplugs provided

Being close to the main road it is a little noisy at night, but they do provide ear plugs so it's manageable. Hot water did run out a couple of times but it wasn't that cold so also no big issue.

Amazing views from the balcony restaurant. Right in the middle of town. Beautiful garden and simple but pleasant rooms. Always kept super clean. Most importantly the staff were absolutely lovely and helpful - Hari showed us the routes for the waterfall and rice paddy walks

Bit noisy the road if you have a room close to it. But they offer earplugs.

Guru ratna is a lovely homestay on the hills of munduk. There is a beautiful view over the village and until the ocean. Ideal for sunset. Breakfast was nice with eggs and fruits. The shower was so warm and powerful.

Our stay wasn’t the quietest due to some external noise from motorbikes and cars. Given the homestay’s location on a main road and the age of the building, some noise is to be expected, so earplugs might be helpful. Despite the noise, it’s a charming spot for a short stay in Munduk.

We had a generally positive experience at Guru Ratna homestay. The room was clean and spacious, featuring hot showers and a comfortable bed. Although there was no air conditioning, the room stayed pleasantly cool. We also had a pleasant patio. The homestay’s location is convenient, close to diverse restaurants, and it offers lovely views and easy access to local attractions like rice field trekking and waterfalls. The owners and staff were very friendly and helpful, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere.

My mosquito nets smelt a bit dusty so maybe more frequent washes but I was happy they were provided. Access to filtered water would be great as much to cut down on plastic use. There was big bottles to buy and I was happy to pay as reasonable. We stayed in a place with a machine that dispensed from a large bottle that worked well maybe add a little extra to your daily rate if you do this.

The staff were lovely and helped us to plan our time but weren’t too pushy. Beautiful garden and great view. Basic accommodation but comfortable and clean. Suited us well.

The cleanliness left a bit to be desired… a previous comment mentioned a contact lens on the side table that was still there, the furniture in the room and common area needed to be dusted badly, the sheets smelled like cologne (possibly from a previous guest), and there were lots of ants in the room. Only one available outlet for the three of us. Restaurant on-site was convenient but the food was just okay.

Staff were very kind and accommodating. Price point and central location was great.

Nothing in their power to change

We loved Guru Ratna and what made it extra special was that it’s totally family run and everyone so happy and eager to please. A nice little menu and we enjoyed what we tried. Very central and easy to get around Munduk. Great tours available. Lovely garden areas. We took a class making offerings. It was a lot of fun, really cheap to do and run by the wife of one of the sons. Just great and ridiculously cheap accommodation 😊

The road is a bit noisie but late at night there is almost no traffic anymore. I slept fine. Did not need the earplugs that were provided. The toilet leaked a bit on the floor. I just stepped around it. And the sealing of the shower en toilet could use a fresh paint with all the moist and damp. But nothing big.

The room in itself is fine, here and there some wear and tear and weather influences. I did put my own mosquito net up, as theirs had some holes in it. The room has holes high up in the wall and other openings to outside so anything and everything can come in. Ofcourse there are ants, geckos, spiders etc. But the owner is happy to assist to take a spider away. And they repaired the light above the sink right away. Super service. Breakfast is fine for this price. The view amazing. There is a nice hike up the road to some waterfalls that are very beautiful. Take about 2 to 4 hours depending on fitness for this hike. Ask the owner for a map. There is an eco warung just 700 meters up the road with amazing food and good view. Loved my stay here!

The family that runs this home stay is incredibly welcoming and beyond helpful. They looked after me when I arrived sick, helped me when I completely ran out of cash, and everything in between. As for the actual property, I have no complaints either. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the free breakfast was delicious, and as a bonus, the view from the restaurant was absolutely amazing. I would definitely come back and stay again.

Lack of hot water in some rooms. Local was pretty noisy, because of proximity of the main road, so the scooter noise was very audible.
