Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Saudi ArabiaHigh humidity in the room, you need to improve the smell in the room. And put a new hairdryer, because it was very weak.
I really liked the staff. They are very nice and friendly people. There were also delicious breakfasts and a good location.

Italy1. Humidity inside the room is extreme. Until even I cannot charge my phone because it find there is “liquid” inside the charging port. They provide a small dehumidifier but useless. 2. Bed mattresses are split and very hard in the middle, not comfy for couples. 3. The parking is sharing with the neighbors house and it has dozens of free chickens, who makes it dirty on the floor and even on top of the motorbikes. Smelly and not hygienic 4. Staff is very friendly but sometimes too oppressive. 5. They give as gadget a keychain “I love Jogja”. I love Jogja too, but we are in Bali…
Great design, with a combination of modern urban style and traditional Javanese. Breakfast is good and more Cafe style than the same same you can encounter around. Nice swimming pool and firecamp by night. The location is nice, 5 minutes from Blanco. The place is very clean.

RussiaIt’s a retreat so if you just need 2-3 days maybe you can choose something even closer to downtown. You have to walk from the road to the hotel 3 min down the alley - there is no car access Breakfast was not so good - I mean we did not expect anything fancy but there was like no choices at all ( it’s fine for us - we had breakfast outside)
A very unusual stay:) The rooms are very different from all the others we saw during the trip. You get huge glass windows facing a jungle and there is a waterfall on the territory of the hotel which you can hear day and night - it’s kind of calming..) The welcoming part was nice - they bless you:) The sleep was deep! It was a nice stay overall

ItalyThe structure need maintenance in the common areas, somewhere seems quite abandoned to its destiny. The room is completely built in CONCRETE (furnitures also are in concrete), with some mould on the walls and ceiling. no air circulation in the room, and bed a bit hard. Comfort is not at 100%, but still good
Large room with large bed, nice view on the garden. Staff was very welcoming and the breakfast was very good. Garden is great relaxing! recommended for architecture lovers :)

UkraineBeautiful hotel with a great design, but beware! The hotel is stylish and beautifully designed, with a great atmosphere. However, I had an unfortunate experience—after checking out, I realized I had left my phone charging cables in the room. When I contacted the hotel, they simply said that nothing was found. It’s disappointing that lost items are not properly handled. So, if you stay here, double-check your belongings before leaving!

United Arab EmiratesIts quite inaccessible and that is somewhat off-putting, the common areas are not inviting to hang around in during the day, the breakfast is very basic (despite it being delicious), and the entire property is still in construction so while it was very pleasant and NOT like recent negative reviews, it is also something I would keep in mind - the noise of construction that didn't bother us but might bother some. The main negatives (that is very reasonable given the location and type of accommodation): - Bugs in the room - geckos, ants, mosquitos a tiny bit, spiders, etc. This is minor, and overall the room was very well protected from the elements and the Air Con worked amazingly (The rooms are so big it usually isn't an issue but some travellers are super preppy, so keep that in mind if you are) - The price; it is definitely not worth the price we paid. It is worth 50-60% of what we paid maximum. I LOVED the stay and my wife did too, but if we knew how it was for the price, I would not have stayed here. Despite it being very positive our stay, that is why I couldn't give it s 10 out of 10...
You should stay at Gunang An if you are looking to relax for a few days, and have good mobility with a motorbike etc (something you can also rent there). The reviews on Google and Booking saying it is mouldy bla bla bla are NOT true, its pretty damn comfortable, the hosts are very friendly and helpful. I do have some criticisms, but the desk in the top floor room was VERY solid to see the jungle area and rice fields while working in an Air Con enabled room. Its nice to be an observer to nature while not being over run by it. The retreat is more of a hidden hotel in progress than a super relaxing retreat in the typical sense, but we have no complaints and we enjoyed the stay & hospitality! Wifi was 10/10. Oh, and the JUNGLE AROUND GUNANG AN IS VERY HEAVY IN SPIRITUAL ENERGY - LIKE MACHU PICHU OR SOMEWHERE SIMILAR. Lots of temples nearby and on the property, and if you are open to that kind of energetic power, or have had trauma of medicinal experiences making you physiologically prone to feeling spiritual energy, this place is very special, specifically at night. Its more of a spiritual retreat than a place to go for relaxation persé.

GermanyThere was no mosquito net covering the bed, and Ubud is known for its high humidity, which attracts plenty of mosquitoes. If you're prone to mosquito bites, keep this in mind and take precautions.

CroatiaThe accommodation has so much potential. It's beautiful but, unfortunately, lacks a bit of maintenance. The room was way too humid, so we had to change the towels every day, even if we were using the AC with humidity control mode all day and had a small dehumidifier in the room. Also, the toilet flush was not working well. The staff tried to help as much as they could, but the whole place is worn out.
The location was perfect. Hidden in the cozy jungle, 10min away from Ubud with a scooter. Staff is cute and very welcoming.

GermanyIf you want to visit Ubud center then is a bit far away. Bathroom cleaning could be more detailed. Some areas of the hotel could use some more maintenance.
The hotel itself and surrounding is gorgeous. The room decorating is minimalist with local touches. Beautiful! Comfortable bed and room. My room had a window to a small waterfall! Great breakfast! Very chill vibe and the staff is very attentive and kind. Several restaurants nearby. Great for solo travels or if you go as a couple or a friend.

LithuaniaIt was harder to find from the main street, probably would need more visible sing and directions. Also it was kind of dark in the room, not enough lights and the room was very humid at the begging of the trip.
The property was modern looking, the room was big. The breakfast was tasty and staff were lovely. For us the place was ok situated from places we wanted to visit.

BelarusMaybe add a sign for the door handle - Do Not Disturb, if for some reason you dont want to be bothered by cleaning. Not much soundproofing, so bring an earplug if you are anxious sleeper. But these are minor things, overall a great hotel
very nice place. Quite and cozy, like you in a jungle, but at the same time not far from center. People working there are really nice, help with everything, and I appreciate that they care about grumpy dog - thats a human way to run a place :) The room very spacious, also a nice nature behind the windows. Cleaning everyday. Fresh drinking water. Delicious breakfast. Good wi fi, was okay to work remotely most of the days. And I asked for an additional table and chair, there was no problem with that.
