Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Lovely villa with all that you need located at Saba Beach. Morning and afternoon walks along the beach is a must. Predominately Saba is a place where you meet and interact with the local community. a good place for more genuine experience of Bali life. Easy to get to day trips to Ubud and Sanur. Friendly staff and Hobo the dog ;-). Host Robert Walker is a gentleman.

United KingdomAbsolutely nothing - it was perfection!
What a completely unexpected joy it was to find Villa Koi! We were in Saba for a friend's wedding and this apartment had the bonus of being 5 minutes' walk from the venue but it was so much more than we could have hoped for in terms of comfort and experience. From the first meeting with Robert our host and his beautiful dog Hobo, we felt instantly welcome and at ease, with his welcome gift of snacks, drinks, and a fresh slice of cake in the fridge a lovely touch especially after a long journey. The villa itself was so well decorated and full of beautiful furniture, ceramics, and of course art works painted by our talented host - it was a completely relaxing and inspiring place to rest for a few days and just soak in the atmosphere and the Balinese way of life. Saba itself is very quiet but this just added to the appeal - we really felt we were seeing a more authentic area and getting a feel for a very different type of Bali we'd seen in some of the other areas on our trip, and we loved the quieter pace for a few nights. Robert was an incredible host, always going out of his way to help us and provide us tips for the local area and we are very grateful to have met him and Hobo - it really was the highlight of our 2.5 weeks in Bali and we would come back to stay at Villa Koi and with Hobo and Robert in an instant. Thank you so much!

Beautiful Villa, surrounded by a lovely garden full of antiques and art. The Villa has everything you can imagine ( including the largest most stunning bathroom I’ve ever seen) and a really comfortable huge bed. Robert as a host goes above and beyond to make you feel right at home and is so kind and generous. The plunge Jacuzzi pool is a great and completely private. Then there is Hobo, Robert’s dog. The sweetest most gentle dog who’s always happy to see you. Across the road is a riding stable who offer private rides on the beach, for all abilities and was a real thrill. Just down the road a 5 minute walk is a small turtle sanctuary also a must to visit.

This villa is an amazing place, and Mr. Robert, the host, is an absolute gem. From the start, he greeted us with a warm and welcoming attitude and left a large Bintang and a delicious cake in our room. The room itself was huge with lots of his art and other artifacts around making it warm and inviting. It has a huge ensuite with a large stone bath tub and shower which is semi-outdoor. And, the outdoor plunge pool/jacuzzi was very private and we used this a lot. Mr. Robert said we could use the large main pool if we wanted but never did. The location is a bit remote (which I liked) but may not be for everyone. There are plenty of restaurants that are short scooter ride away and they all deliver for a small fee. Hobo, the dog is a little legend. By the end of our stay he was following us around and protecting us when we walked out the gate and greeting us on return. The whole stay there was amazing and would highly recommend it to any one wanting a relaxing time in a beautiful setting.

AustraliaVilla Koi exceeded my expectations in all aspects. Beautifully appointed and very spacious; a quiet location in a beautiful garden beside a Koi pond. It has a private jacuzzi plunge pool which is a treat! It is a short palm tree lined stroll to a stunning beach overlooked by Mt Agung. The beach mostly visited by friendly locals, families and fishermen. Happily uncluttered by tourists. Stunning views. The gracious owner and artist, Robert, is a discreet but kindly presence; happy to oblige with any requests. His beautiful paintings are seen throughout the property. Some can be purchased and I could not resist two of them. He has two lovely, friendly dogs, Hobo and Jack, who keep vigil but are not intrusive. I felt pampered and privileged. I am now back home in Australia feeling totally 'renewed'. I will happily revisit.

AustraliaVilla Koi is a jewel set in a quiet, lush tropical garden with a large koi pond in a quiet coastal area. It is the most beautifully appointed villa, full of artwork, treats and creature comforts. The bathroom is 'movie star sized split-level luxury' and is connected to a private jacuzzi plunge pool open to the sky. The host is affable, discreet and kind, and sees to all your requirements. Temples, natural beach, wonderful walks outside the door. The delightful staff Kadek and Komang quietly keep everything fresh and sparkling. In all my 25 trips to Bali I rate this villa No. 1. Ketut’s Villa Koi has a beautiful, natural ambience. At night, the sounds of the koi ponds fountain and the gentle singing of nocturnal frogs in the distance, add to this tranquil beauty. The enormous bed and bedding is of a very high standard. There are antiques and paintings that decorate the whole property, and enhance its individuality. The Artists studio and museum, containing interesting artifacts are a delight to peruse. Robert, the artist will happily show you around and discuss his art and local knowledge.

SingaporeEverything was tidy, but us being city mice we were used to just abit more cleanliness, but this is just the flip side of the rustic environment which is equally beautiful.
Robert is the loveliest host, extremely sweet and hospitable. We were there just for two days and his presence made the stay wonderful. Hobo the dog also made for a sweet cheeky companion who kept us company. The atmosphere is extremely laidback and relaxing, and with a lot of charming bits laid all across the villa, from Robert's artwork, the wonderful details of the villa design, to the magical koi pond. Warungs we ordered from served amazing food, and extremely quickly.

United StatesThere aren't any restaurant s in the area so you'll have to either order out or take a taxi somewhere. The property was gracious enough to supply several menu's from local restaurants and has a good sized refrigerator and portable stove to heat with so it's not a major concern but something to consider
I found this gem while in Bali for a wedding and couldn't have been happier. The convenience is what I was looking for since it's walking distance from the wedding venue I was attending. The price was incredible for what was offered and the staff was particularly pleasant to interact with. It's a boutique hotel so you won't be wowed with any sort of major amenities like a swim up bar or live music but if your goal is to stay in a quiet, very nice room within walking distance of the beach then look no further.

Everything! Location: near the beach in a quiet surrounding. You walk 3 minutes and you are at the beach. Small little shops and bakeries and a beach club are also close. Establishment: a nice big house with everything one needs, and even more! Owner: a really nice and smart guy who is always ready to help, suggest what to visit and have funny and intelligent chat about many different topics The Villa: a lovely house with sleeping area, big bathroom and a kitchen corner. There is also a small swimming pool with whirlpool! All decorated with style and attention for the details. The garden is also beautiful with a little lake with fish and frogs, a fountain and lovely plants. You can sit on the patio and relax watching the nature around you. During my stay I got sick and the owner helped me to get well and took care of me checking in and bringing me food. I appreciated that a lot.
