Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyOur stay at Griya Nusa Homestay was honestly fantastic from start to finish. We had the 3-bed room, which was spotlessly clean, spacious, and comfortable. The whole property is well-maintained, with a beautiful garden area that’s perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. Location-wise, it’s in a great spot, just a 10-minute walk from Sampalan Port, which is super convenient if you’re coming from Bali or heading to the Gili Islands. No need to worry about transport or long transfers, huge plus! We also booked a snorkeling tour directly through them, and it was awesome and completely hassle free. Everything was well-organized and smooth, and we saw some amazing marine life without any stress. But what really made our stay memorable was the hospitality. The family who runs the homestay is incredibly kind and welcoming. A special shoutout to their son, who was especially helpful, his English is phenomenal, and he went out of his way to assist us with anything we needed. Super polite, professional, and a real asset to the place. If you’re looking for a clean, peaceful, and welcoming place to stay in Nusa Penida, Griya Nusa Homestay is an excellent choice. Would absolutely stay again!

SwedenWouldn't hurt to clean a bit more, some dust and stains here and there but overall clean!
The owners are really nice and Abie picks you up for free if you arrive at the closest harbor. The rooms are clean and good standard for the price from what I tried so far in Indonesia. Free access to drinking water and they've a kettle. You pay extra for breakfast which I tried one morning and it was really delicious and fresh!

United KingdomShort walk from Sampalan Port or 30 min by scooter from Banjur Nyuh Port - they organise transfers to/from the homestay if you let them know in advance for a better price than directly from the port. Well-located nearby lots of marts and restaurants, and 10 min walk from the night market. Homestay was cosy, comfy bed and hot shower. Abie and his family were so friendly and welcoming, helped organise a driver (shout out to Sandy) for a fab tour of bespoke spots. Breakfast menu had variety of options for very good prices.

United StatesBali is a tropical place, so there will be ants and other pests outside. (The inside of the rooms were bug free).
Abi was great, and his English was excellent. Remembering that this is a tropical island in South East Asia, the room was clean and the shower and (private) toilet in the family sized room were the best you can get for this price. He was helpful and affordable in getting to and from the port, and I recommend using him as a tour guide or in making arrangements to dive, snorkel, sightsee, rent a scooter ,or catch a ferry to or from Denpasar.

SerbiaWi-fi is excellent. The rooms are nicely arranged and clean, tidy. We also rented a scooter from the host to tour the island. They are a wonderful family, they also took the boat tickets for us and bought the durian we wanted to try. The food is delicious, we had breakfast there every day. I would recommend it to everyone and I would come here again.

United KingdomWhen i bookedf I was sent details of options and cost to collect me from various ferry ports etc. by bike or car. However when i requested this they were unable to do so. Maybe as I was only staying one night.? Found a great guy Gsuarta +62 812 three seven six seven 4978 Collected me from Cozy Bidara and took me back for the ferry to Sanur the next morning. About a 20,-25 min trip. A very similar price to Griya Nyusa. Very reliable and prompt.
The room was really mnicely done. It was only a single but a large sing;le bed and very confortable. They also had a kettle ypu could use and free water refills. Very central for everything. A great local market not far away and ice beach close to the market. If you walked past the market there is a quiet road on yoyr left and you can you can walk up here for quite a way. at the highetst poit there is a fantastic view across to the mountain. IndiaWe reached on day when family had ritual at their temple. Food was bit of problem till time we located a Indian restaurant nearby
Nusa Penida boasts stunning natural beauty with its breathtaking landscapes and serene sea views. However, what truly made this trip unforgettable was the incredible warmth and hospitality we experienced during our stay. From the moment Abie, the owner's son, kindly picked us up to the personalized tour led by the owner himself the next day, we felt genuinely cared for. While the place offers basic amenities, the true highlight is the exceptional staff and the heartfelt, family-like atmosphere they create. It’s a rare and wonderful experience to feel so welcomed and at home.
