Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustriaBe aware of the location, it might be convenient depending on your boat company/scooter preference but there might be better options. The huts are quite dark. Unfortunately, there were termites in the wooden panels of the wall and the cleaners used bug spray, so the termites died and fell out of the wall the whole night (we could hear them). The owner cleaned it up in the night but still something to note. Also, the taxi to the harbour is quite expensive (200k for 20 minutes) if you book it via the owner.
The owner is very nice and helpful and organised an amazing Manta Snorkelling Trip to Manta Point, where we saw 5 Mantas. The pool is clean, the breakfast is good. The beds are comfortable. The location is good depending what you want, it is close to the Semaya One harbour, and it was good for us who wanted to rent a scooter anyway. You really need a scooter to get around.

NetherlandsIt seems there is a beach within walking distance, but it’s not one you can enjoy swimming or lay on a sun bed. Bungalow is small (we had the wooden one with 2 single beds) and a bit old. There are many roasters waking you up early in the morning and yes I wear ear plugs, also there is building construction next to the building what also makes a lot of noise. We fully understand these last 2 points are out of the owners hands, but I think important to mention.
Clean pool with sun beds, small resort with 5 bungalows, spacious bathroom with good shower and modern toilet. Nice outside terrace. Breakfast was ok, you can choose between an omelet and scrambled eggs. Also fresh fruit added.

CroatiaThe shower was very rusty. Definitely needs replacing. The pool was a bit cloudy so it didn't have a clean feeling to it, although I saw the owner cleaning and chlorinating it so I might as well be wrong about it.
Our host arranged a boat for us with the company that stops just across the street from the accommodation and was very helpful with anything we asked for. The breakfast was not large but it was tasty (the best simple omelet we had during our holiday) and enough to start the day. The fridge with beer next to the pool is a big plus. Also, the place has bikes for rent. The location is just perfect if you want to visit all island attractions as it is halfway to the east and west side.

IndonesiaIf anything maybe the shower heads need to be replaced as it was super rusty. One of the handle came off when I was trying to adjust the head rotation.
Facility was nice and clean. Location is close to Buyuk Harbour, and it's about 1km or so away to night market, not too far of a walk. Towels and soap shampoo were provided.

New ZealandRooms are close together, but there are only five of them so it wasn't a problem.
Breakfast was good, and delivered to the room to eat on the deck, which was nice. Location was central, but down an alley so not much street noise. Staff were very friendly, and the owner sorted out our tickets to Sanur for a reasonable price, which made life easy for us.

SwitzerlandRusty shower but I can understand it due to salt water but it doesn’t bother us from having good warm shower
Small and neat rooms with bungalows look, friendly and helpful staffs that always ready when we ask for something. They even sent my daughter’s clothes to Seminyak when we forgot it in the closet. The hotel have an open kitchen that we can use to warm up food when we’re buying from outside or to use the utensils provided by Grand Cory

United KingdomWe booked a day tour with private driver via the owner. We didn't actually know what we had booked or what it included. Our suggestion to the owner is that they write down what they offer and detail the tours and price. Would make it easier for both owner and customers. The cockerells start around 3am and don't stop - take ear plugs.
Very pretty bungalows surrounding a lovely pool a short walk from main street. The owners were super friendly but didn't speak much English so difficult to communicate but WhatsApp was a good option. Very clean and comfortable rooms with free water each day. Breakfast basic but good for the price of room. They were very helpful getting us boat tickets and booking a private tour.

FranceThe bungalows are close to each other so depending on who you have next to you can determine the noise. But never late late so not really a big issue.
We loved our stay in Grand Cory. Everyone very kind and accommodating. Everything is new and kept clean and tidy. We loved the beautiful garden, the swimming pool, the decorations in the rooms. Breakfast was simple but perfect for the price. Very relaxing. Outdoor area with big table. Good advice. Excellent communication via whatsap. Well situated to see everything.

United KingdomThere were 5 bungalows with 3 sets of sun loungers. We took turns quite easily but depending on the guests I can see that being a problem. Breakfast was limited/poor - plain and very basic (for the price). Bit disappointing. Communication was a real issue, especially around trying to organise transport, food etc Lastly: we arrived the evening before Nyepi. We knew about it and were prepared. The hotel website was clear about the limitations. However... considering they chose to stay open and continue offering a service it was a poor experience. All restaurants and shops were closed so we messaged to ask about food and they said they could prepare for us, but it was more like scraping around for any leftovers. We had to ask several times (and they often forgot) which felt awkward whilst trying to honour and respect an important Hindu tradition for them. There was no reassurance and an uncomfortable feeling was overshadowing the day - for all guests. The electricity was off for 24 hours and the rooms with no A/C or fan were unbearable. I don't think they could have done much about this (if anything) but it was a lost night sleep for all of us. The pool could not be filtered and by the morning it looked disgusting. It was pitch black from about 7pm and I wonder if they could have offered a candle to each room. We managed with our phone lights. There was also no running water that night. Lastly when we were checking out we were asked for money for the very paltry food (tiny plain omelette and later on noodles) which I felt was a bit much when we had paid full price (not cheap) for no facilities/utilities.. We didn't pay the extra and I think the owner understood but it left a nasty feeling. I think next year the decision is either to close for 24 hours or stay open at a discounted price. Or perhaps the best option would be to make some provisions so that guests still feel looked after.
The bungalows were all facing the pool which was gorgeous. A/C was good. Quiet location. Communal area with shared fridge. Able to use kitchen for crockery/cutlery. Surrounds were well kept.
