Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

I had a wonderful stay at Geriya House. The family living in the compound is so welcoming and always ready to help, creating a homely and relaxed atmosphere. If you are interested, they are happy to share stories and teach you about Indonesian culture, which makes the experience even more special. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the setting is peaceful while still being close to everything you need. I would highly recommend Geriya House to anyone looking for a genuine and friendly stay in Ubud.

GermanyWe had a wonderful stay! The atmosphere was very warm and family-like, with a peaceful and beautiful garden to relax in. The family running the place is incredibly kind and always helpful, offering fantastic recommendations such as a cooking class or a Mount Batur tour. We can truly recommend this place to everyone!

AustraliaGreat location on south side of Ubud. I have returned to stay with Mayan and family several times over the past year. Tucked away, easily for drivers to reach not having to deal with centre of Ubud traffic. Only ten min walk to yoga barn, pepitos supermarket and many restaurants & shops. Fabulous hosts - always a big smile on Mayan and family faces his wife and parents are super sweet. I recommend staying there. Room is cosy and has a warm feeling. The bathroom is small and simple and could do with some finer finishes. It is completely functional so is sufficient for my short stays in Ubud. Great value for money. Highly recommend.

BrazilI felt home in this guest house. The entire family is very attentive. Mayun received me with kindness and attention. I was having difficult moments in Thailand so when I arrived in Gerya, I felt welcomed and cared. The bed is comfortable, rooms are very clean and the breakfast is included and it is delicious. AC and Wifi work pretty well. The garden is something that makes us feel home too. I loved it!

SpainIn the description it says that it includes a kitchen but in reality it cannot be used. Even so, you can eat at the local establishments next door for a very low price.
The Balinese family is charming. We stayed for a month and they invited us to learn about their culture by attending ceremonies and making local offerings. The location is good and although there is a lot of traffic, the noise does not reach the room. The breakfast was very good and the woman was always very attentive.

SerbiaBlackout curtains would be nice, so that you are not awaken in the early morning. The bathroom could use a renovation. A table, chair or a shelf in the room would be nice to have, to be able to put your stuff on.
Really nice and friendly artists family with interesting history. A lot of stories, wisdom and intetesting local facts you can hear. Good value for money.

United KingdomIt was all good. For the price there can be no complaints.
The family is really nice. The breakfast is tasty, there are playful cats hanging around. The shower is one of the better ones I've used in Bali, good water pressure and can be used hot or cold. The location is quite quiet. It's only 5-10 mins walk to yoga barn, and 10-15 mins walk to a strip of cafes, spas and money exchange places. Within 5 mins walk there are good places to eat, and a pepitos supermarket. A couple of mins walk down the street there is a nice place to eat sate.

LithuaniaEverything was perfect and exceeded my expectations. The family’s greeting was very welcome and sweet. Room was more spacious than I expected, during the 2 week stay I had 2 additional cleaning. Breakfast was great and once I had to travel early, so they prepared lunch for me after the trip instead, very appreciated. Family was very welcoming, told me many local stories and I was invited to the owner’s birthday as well! I had many questions about the Bali culture and some more mundane like where to find some good restaurant, seamstress for fixing my dress. Mayun also showed me around some places and temples, told me some stories about it (full day of travelling cost me additional 200k IDE for fuel and time) - loved the private excursion. I was also conveniently offered to rent a scooter, I got pretty new Scoopy with a discount (90k/day). I am a remote worker, so most days since afternoon till late evening I had to work and did so comfortably in the terrace, where was light and additional electricity outlet, wifi worked mostly very well. The location is a little too far from main street to walk by foot (about 2km), but with the scooter everything was so quick and easy to reach. To add for other travellers, it is not a luxury villa, but for the price I received everything and amazing. If I am in Ubud again, I’ll definitely choose this place again. Thank you for everything!

The sweetest owners!!! Did everything to make us feel at home, can't say more! Lovely breakfast and pretty room and had a good location for our purposes (visiting the Yoga Barn xD). Got a scooter to rent through them, was a bit more pricey than other rentals, but a superb scooter! Overall an amazing stay!

FinlandI got locked outside the gate around 00:40 (and was given no warning or instructions how to enter night time). I had to make a lot of noise to wake up somebody and that wasn't comfortable for either of us.
I felt very welcome here. Room was very comfortable. Clean and quiet. Family here is very friendly and will help you with everything you need and give you good tips. Their laundry service is good and fast. Right next to Alfa mart and couple really good fast food places. Great location to explore Ubud and other nearby areas. I would definately stay here again. The best value for money also.

SingaporeThere were a few mosquitos in the room but they didn't bite me. They didn't bother me too much at night and I still had a good sleep. Perhaps it will be helpful to have a mosquito repellent in each room.
It is a spacious and clean room with toilet and shower ensuite. The room was pre-cooled with aircon on at check in and the owner is super friendly. He helped me keep my luggage before and after the check-in and check-out and it was very kind of him. It is close to the main area of Ubud but quiet at night. So I had a very good sleep. The breakfast was also prepared fresh at 7am and it was delivered to my door step.
