Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. GermanyA problem I now encountered in maby places is mold or damp smell of the room. So I can recommend to get accommodation that is not on the ground floor where it is naturally worse.
The staff was super accomodating. My first room was for me smelling like mold (ground floor problem here) & they immediately let me change to a different room at the upper floor. I loved the pool and the size of the room and that it was quiet. And I liked the breakfast. And nice guests. I immediately clicked with someone during breakfast and we went on a beautiful trip to the waterfall.

United KingdomWhen I arrived there was a powercut. I was only staying for one night, in order to use a pool; which I did do, but since there was no power and wifi (and I work online) I actually ended up sleeping elsewhere.
The staff, the pool; the room was nice, but a little dark - not a lot of natural daylight. But everything seemed very clean and well presented. powerful AC!

United KingdomI didn’t think the pictures matched the property. The site itself it’s much smaller than expected, for example the restaurant is just a couple tables. The pool was also not as expected. Unlike the photographs, the area is very overgrown, meaning the pool is mostly in the shade. Because of this, there is also hundreds of bugs. We tried relaxing by the pool but it wasn’t enjoyable. I’d say the pool area is more like a nice pond to look at, rather than something you’d want to get into.
The rooms are great, really big with lovely balconies. The location is also good because it’s nice and quiet and only a short ride away from the main hub.

AustraliaThe breakfast was inconsistent and we didn’t receive it one day. Additionally, the room was only cleaned on the second day we were there… our 7 day stay needed another clean, we ran out of toilet paper and needed clean dry towels. Our bins were full and they also bring the breakfast to the room, so we had dirty plates and old food in our room for a day or two. They were only taken away when the next breakfast was served.

GermanyMy experience at Gerinde Cottage was far from satisfactory. Firstly, the constant noise from construction work next door made it nearly impossible to relax during the day. It felt like there was no escape from the clamor, which entirely disrupted the holiday atmosphere. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a dirty reception area, with trash littering the entrance every day. The reception desk itself was unclean, and the path to the rooms was equally unkempt, with extremely dirty stairs that clearly hadn’t seen proper cleaning in a while. Breakfast was another letdown. The kitchen appeared dirty, and the ingredients used, particularly the vegetables for the omelette, were old and unappetizing. After trying just a small piece, I ended up with stomach pain that lingered for two days—definitely not the kind of experience one hopes for while on vacation. The room itself was acceptable, but the pillows were stinky, and the balcony was dirty, which detracted from the overall comfort. Communication with the staff was also challenging, as misunderstandings arose due to language barriers. Additionally, the pool area was unkempt, with trash and ants detracting from what could have been a relaxing space. When I raised my concerns, the response was dismissive. I was told that the place has always been this way and that they would "take my criticism for the future." However, that felt insufficient, especially given the unacceptable trash smell attributed to the neighbors and the all-day construction noises. Overall, I cannot recommend Gerinde Cottage for a holiday stay. The lack of responsible action from the hotel staff only added to my disappointment. I was relieved to leave and would advise others to consider alternative accommodations.
