Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

ItalyThe place is a little gem in the middle of the noises of Ubud. On my arrival day they also offered me a welcoming tea and cinnamon roll! Then they showed me the room.. it exceeded my expectations: everything was extremely detailed and there were frangipani flowers in many places around the room... here you can really find peace and calmness! The family is super welcoming, nice and present for any help needed. It really felt like home, I would recommend it 100% because it's not only an accomodation but it's the experience of living with a typical Balinese family. I am very grateful to Ibu Nyoman and her husband for creating such a magical place. It was one of the best accommodations I have ever been in the past years!

NamibiaRooms & bathrooms are outdated & need an upgrade. I don't mind the odd Gecko in my room, it's part of Bali's charm, but my first night I was woken by a huge cockroach walking/flying over my face, which I was not that excited about. It seems that the gaps in the windows & doors allow for more than just Geckos to get in. It is a homestay, so you are staying with the family & there will be talking, laughing & children crying. Not a problem, unless its late at night or early mornings.
Chose the Family Guesthouse based on previous reviews, location & price. It's located in a very busy street, yet the street noise can hardly be heard once inside the property & rooms. The garden was pretty, the family friendly & the rooms were very spacious. Room was cleaned often & bedding & towels changed regularly. There was a fridge in the room & the aircon worked well (although it was exceptionally loud).

AustraliaFor Balinese standards everything was up to scratch. I mentioned the shower hose could do with replacing and they took that on board. There was actually NOTHING I didn't like.
The accommodation was spacious. Full of character. Clean. Leafy view. Lovely hot and cold water. Comfortable bed. Exceptional outside area for sitting/relaxing. Always provided drinks and traditional cakes for free. With a smile. Walking distance to most everything in and around Ubud. I took a video which - unfortunately - I cannot post here.
