Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsThe shower is outside and beautiful however it is not always really practical because of the water pressure changing all the time.
Good place to relax, close to the beach. Nice to have a restaurant close to always have food nearby. Rooms are really clean and spacious. Nice outside area.

United StatesWe had the impression that only the shower was outside - but turn out to be the full bathroom ( including the toilet ) is outdoors with privacy. We were fine with it - but maybe other guests would hesitate.

United KingdomThere wasn't anything I didn't like. If you stay here, i recommend getting a scooter for your stay.
We stayed for out honeymoon, it exceeded expectations, we wish we could have stayed longer! The centre was 20 steps from our room, the pool was so clean and the room so comfy. Bastian the dive guide was excellent, friendly, knowledgeable and skilled.

CanadaBecause of the proximity of the public beach just in front, it could get quite noisy with scooters late at night, there isn't much sound proofing with those villas. I wish the restaurant served indonesian food also, Italian is not our thing but that's just personal preferences, there were lots of other very good restaurants close by.
The villas were gorgeous, beautiful gardens surrounding the pool with a nice view or Mt. Agung in the background. The staff were all super friendly and made great cappuccinos! We came to Amed for Scuba diving and the attached dive center was super convenient. Bastien the instructor was super nice and had great local knowledge of the dive sites. The beach just in front of the hotel was amazing for finding all sorts of nocturnal creatures on night dives!

GermanyThe only complaint I have is the rooms are not well isolated for sound. For a light sleeper this is a problem since the road traffic will keep you awake. Bring ear plugs if that is the case.
With only a few rooms this place is calm and relaxing. You don't have to worry about not getting a spot by the pool, there is always space at the restaurant, the staff is always available for your needs. If you like scuba they have an excellent dive centre on site.

the breakfast surprisingly very good, and the staffs were very friendly. though the location not right in the middle of Amed, but the resort is very good and we had a pleasant stay.

United StatesThere is not much to walk to except I would recommend checking out Notabaar. It is a dive shop but also a very cute nice bar hang out spot with a beautifully lit elevated pool with windows. You also have to visit Sunset Point - they have live music, food, and a beautiful infinity pool with a stunning view.
Beautiful hotel and room and indoor/outdoor bathroom, The staff were very friendly. We didn't get to use the pool but it looked beautiful.

AustraliaThe near by road could be a little noisy but it didn’t bother us much
This boutique accommodation had been designed/thought out with comfort and details upmost in mind. Outside bathrooms and lounge areas beautiful while considering privacy. Power points/light switches, shelving highly convenient. Even the details of providing sun umbrellas and aloe plants incase of sunburn or insect bite. Not to mention the amazing coffee and friendly staff. We loved our time here!

AustraliaIt was about 15-20 mins walk to the start of the village, which wasn't an issue for us but this does mean that most restaurants etc are on more than a 30 min walk away
We came here to dive and were impressed! The diving facilities are good and access to the beach is very close by. They also have a diving boat which can bring you to places like Tulamben to dive the USAT Liberty wreck. The complex is small and beautifully kept, full of palmtrees and tropical plants. The bungalows each have sufficient privacy.

AustraliaCan be a little isolated from the Amed main street but it can be easily walked to along the beach.
Fantastic rooms with a really comfortable bed. Bonus is the availability to wash our dive gear at the resort. Great place to stay if you are a diver or wish to start diving. Our dive guide Franck was amazing. The staff were friendly and approachable.

AustraliaAll of this said: I would still stay here again. - The room had a musky damp smell, like the air conditioning needs a service or like it never quite dries. It’s a common issue in accomodation in Bali, I know, but still worth saying as I’ve always avoided staying in places with this smell. But, we opened all doors and aired the room out and it seemed like moisture actually came up out of the floor… as the floor became damp the longer the doors were open. The more we aired it the better it seemed to get. - They only had beer in the restaurant or available to drink around the pool, and no cocktails. Bit of a missed opportunity for nice afternoons around pool with a snack and a drink. I guess their focus is on those who dive, which makes sense because it is a dive resort after all 🤷🏻♀️ - It wasn’t really clear which staff member I could talk to if I needed something, as in, who was working just at the restaurant and who was available for the guests. When I asked around for the right person they were helpful.
We really liked this place. The location is not RIGHT in town, but the ride in and out made it beautiful and relaxing and it was really short. The restaurant here was lovely, we ate pizza in our room two of the four nights.

LuxembourgLoved my stay at emocean! Starting from the rooms & resort decor to the very diligent team of staff around. The restaurant staff were extra accommodating and prepared special meals for me as I had to follow a particular diet due to a chronic condition. I also did my open water certification with Frank and enjoyed every bit of it - the dive sites, company and some good banter throughout. Highly recommend the place if you are around Amed - it’s a gem in the heart of a very authentic Balinese village :)
