How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Verified reviewYou ‘ll get so much extra value for your money when you book an upgrade. I got room 7 and got the most wonderful view : ) (and it’s still cheap compared to other hotels around).
The drinks and foods were quite expensive and not particularly nice (I paid 6,5€ for an ice- tea that I did not drink as it was extremely chemical). If I were you I would not book breakfast, but I would eat/ drink at one of the restaurants on the beach (3 minute walk).

Verified reviewGreat location close to the beach and a lovely beach bar. The street is quiet, with little traffic compared to the main roads. The room itself is charming, authentic, and very peaceful. Excellent value for money

Verified reviewI had a comfortable stay at this accommodation. Walking distance to the beach. Pool nice to relax. Staff kind and informative. The spa on site was one of my favourite massages in Bali.
Unfortunately the yoga shala was closed due to damage but the staff informed me about a week before arrival and I was well informed. I enjoyed the pool more instead!

The pool should have a warning sign for the depth, I didn't realise it was so deep and I almost slipped into the deep water.

Verified reviewDecent property stay there if you are in canngu and looking for a property near the beach. Don’t expect too much crowds since It’s closer to the beach it gets quite early but so many kmart and m mart within 1 min walk. Do try a pizza from “Garden Pizza” about 300 metres walk away.

Verified reviewI love the location of this hotel and how close it is to everything! 1 min walk from La brisa Beach club, there are 3 mini marts right in front and a pharmacy and a spa. There is also 2 souvenir centers within walking distance and a lot of restaurants around it!

Verified reviewthis is our second time at the Ecosfera and next time we go to Bali it will be our third time, the staff here is absolutely amazing and there is the attitude of everything is possible. We were here for 5 nights and enjoyed everything the place had to offer food spa pool etc. The food is absolutely amazing the breakfast selections are some of the best we had on our entire trip. The pool is not the biggest pool but it is more than enough and its never crowded. We can highly recommend this hotel.

Verified reviewBeautiful accommodation in a perfect location. Sure, the hotel is a bit dated, but we're not staying in a 5* hotel. The staff is excellent. We had the family room, which was right next to the construction site. We briefly complained about it, and we were immediately upgraded to a suite for free. Thank you for that.
The only thing that could be included in breakfast is drinks like juice, etc. The coffee isn't suitable for children. A juice with it costs about half the price of breakfast, which is rather unusual for Bali.

I have asked for a two double bedroom as It was travelling with my dad and got put on a double bed room where they added a foldable bed. The bathroom towels had stains.

Extremely dirty. The toilet was extremely dirty. I told the staff about out but they did do anything about it. The shower was bad as well. You could see mold on the wall

Verified reviewEcosfera is a very pleasant hotel and truly feels like a hidden gem in the heart of Canggu. It’s close to everything the beach, bars, clubs but still peaceful and cozy, like a home away from home. The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. A special thanks to Ms. Dinda and Mr. Bagus at the lobby - they were always ready to help and really made my stay easier, especially with organizing excursions. The rooms are clean, spacious, and the air conditioning works perfectly (a big plus!). Housekeeping staff were very polite and well-organized. The whole hotel area is clean and full of beautiful plants and flowers - it feels like a small paradise in busy Canggu. It’s also a great spot for families or anyone who needs a quiet place to work - I enjoyed working both from my room and the lovely Green Spot Café or by the pool. One more nice touch - you can add breakfast from the café, which is delicious and a great start to the day. Overall, it was a truly wonderful stay and I’d love to come back!
