How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewFrom start to finish, the service was exceptional. The reception staff and parking attendant were incredibly kind, and they even helped carry my luggage upon arrival and checkout. In the restaurant, a lovely lady went out of her way to accommodate my special dietary requirements - truly 10/10 for customer service. The room was well-equipped with a kettle, fridge, and safety deposit box, making the stay even more comfortable. The pool and the garden are just wonderful! Real oasis for travellers. An added bonus: there’s a well-stocked supermarket just around the corner.

Verified reviewThe hotel was really nice. The rooms where very cozy and the common area with the pool were really nice. It feels like your escape the hectics from the street when you enter the inn. It is close to a lot of restaurants. The staff is very friendly. The breakfast is basic but fine to start the day.

Verified reviewI love the staff there they are super nice and friendly. The room is so comfortable and aesthetically nice. I love the location as well as it is not too far from many tourist spots
This is not the hotel fault but i am frustrated that every time we want to hang out by the pool or at the restaurant, there will be smokes, the air is so polluted and its because of people around burning garbage. Its really disturbing.

Verified reviewWe booked a week in the hotel. Everything is nice and clean and the swimming pool is amazing. Close to Jalan Prawirotaman, where there are nice cafes and bars. The thing I loved the most though was the amazingly friendly staff. We felt very welcome and they made sure of it. 10/10

Verified reviewA beautiful hotel. I stayed an extra night, as two nights wasn’t enough. Good location. Trains stations are easily accessible with a 15min taxi ride. Scooters are faster with the traffic. Lots of food options. The hotel itself is very good, but walking out the door, there are restaurants all around, and some great street food food. The chicken satay is very good!! The pool is delightful. I must have sat by it for 6-8 hours just relaxing, reading. The lighting around it is simply delightful. There is a massage/spa, but only for females, as the masseuse is female. Staff are really friendly, and even helped me repair my fan when it broke. Wonderful people. The bathroom is private, covered, but technically outside. I liked it. It was fun, and felt rustic. But it creates issues in that your bathroom door is effectively an outside door. The only issue was that I had a number of small ants in my room. I am sure this will have been resolved… I survived. A lovely hotel, I extended my stay, and was sad to leave.
Dear Neil, We are grateful for your thoughtful and kind reviews. Especially about the pool, chicken satay, lighting, and the hotel staff. We really regret the ant issue in the room and will keep trying our best to prevent it. All things considered, we hope your stay in Jogja Village was enjoyable and hope we can be of better service to you on your next visit. Sincerely yours, Jogja Village Management

Prawirotaman... Great staff

Verified reviewEven for off-season, it was cheap but much better than we'd expected. A little worn, but the room was of a good size and clean (and kept clean). Had "universal" power sockets so didn't need adapters. Had a little balcony overlooking the pool, which was not the biggest but clean and useable. Staff friendly and helpful in arranging tours and taxis. Supermarket and plenty of cafes and eateries nearby. Good breakfast included and they gave us a packed breakfast when we had to leave early.
Some of the lamps had faulty switches, but in general things worked. The people next door decided to smoke on their balcony, so you might want to forgo the room with balcony and save a little money.
Dear Sak, Thank you very much for your thorough reviews. We deeply regret any inconvenience caused by the faulty switch. We will make sure to double check the equipment in the rooms before guests checking in. Regardless, we hope you enjoyed your stay with us. We wish to better serve you on your next visit. Verified reviewThis place is truly heaven on earth. Everything from the staff to the rooms, the swimming pool, and the thoughtful details, was exceptional. The serene surroundings, with beautiful water features and lush trees, create a peaceful atmosphere. Our room was spotless, spacious, and came with a terrace, while the bed was incredibly comfortable. The location is also great, with plenty of restaurants and cafés nearby.
The WiFi didn't work in our room, but we didn't mind it. For the first two nights, we stayed in a pool-view room, but being next to the road, it was quite noisy. We requested to move to a room on the opposite side, on the first floor with a balcony, and it was much more peaceful.
Dear Alessi, We are thankful for your wonderfuly kind reviews. It lifts up our spirit to hear that our services and facilities meet your expectation. We apologize for the WiFi connection, you can inform our 24/7 receptionists regarding any trouble or assistance you may need during your stay. Our staff is here to make sure that you have the utmost experience. We would be pleased to host you again next time. Sincerely yours, Jogja Village Management

Verified reviewWarm and welcoming team, full of great suggestions and a homely vibe. Great location and lovely rooms and pool.
Overall, a really good place, the sound does travel a little along some if the corridors, but generally we didn't hear other guests. Do be prepared for an early wake up as the nearby mosque signals call to prayer.
Dear Djuke, It pleases us that you appreciate our hotel and the team. Indeed, call to prayers are inevitable as there are mosques in every small district in Yogyakarta. For light sleeper guests we recommend bringing good pairs of earplugs. We do look forward to your next stay. Sincerely yours, Jogja Village Management

Verified reviewIf you want to stay at a place that has jogja characteristics. You must stay at Jogja's Village. The ambience is quite serene at night and bright and colorful during the day. They have a decent breakfast and tasty as well. The staff is very helpful whenever you need some help.
At night I could hear the sound of lizards and do not put any sweet things on the table as it can triggered ants to come.
Hello Meisyana, Thank you for your appreciative and honest reviews. We are happy that you like our hotel's ambience. We also notice your concern about the sound of lizard at night and the ants.
